As many times I have driven by this bagel shop, I have never stopped in. I was in the mood for a bagel sammy so I stopped in today and got one! The gentleman that helped us a so nice! Since it was our first time there, he was patient and helped us out with their menu. Their menu had a lot of options which can be overwhelming but after going through their many options we decided on a salami sandwich on a cheese bagel, French dip and a bowl of chicken and wild rice soup. My sandwich was so good! The cheddar bagel was soft and chewy. It was also sweet and savory. There was a good amount of salami and veggies. My daughter's French dip a nice and hearty! She ate every bite of it. The dip was hot and savory. A perfect addition to her sandwich. The soup was piping hot! There were chunks of carrots and celery. The rice was more broken down but it was still good! I work a couple blocks from this joint and I look forward to coming here for some hot soup and more bagel sandos! I had never been here, but I had overslept , went to my haircut appointment downtown and Sarah's was right by where I had parked. Plus, I was starving. The bagels are really good. Better than Blue Sky, which is harsh to admit. I also was impressed that they regularly have at least four different soups available. The staff is SO friendly and helpful, I really enjoyed lunch there and they've got lots of pastries and treats (muffins, cookies, Oreos, bagel chips, gum, imagine something and it was probably there). This bagel shop is in a prime spot downtown near so many other great businesses! We came on a Sunday morning and had no problem finding street parking nearby. They have a huge menu of different sandwiches and bagel types! They also have smoothies, coffees, and bubble teas. Prices were very affordable. I got the #11 (bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich) on an Asiago bagel for only $6.99! It was filling and came with plenty of bacon which I was happy about, usually a lot of places only give you one small slice. The sandwich and the bagel itself were good but not the best I've had. It's been a while since I was wowed by a sandwich, but Sarah's Bagel Cafe makes an AMAZING chicken salad sandwich. I can't even name everything that's on it, but I'll try: chicken salad (the kind with grapes in it), red onion, cheese, avocado, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and mustard. This unique combination produces a flavorful, juicy, and crunchy bagel sandwich. It's delicious! Bonus: they also have bubble tea! The green tea coconut was exquisite. The coconut and green tea flavors were very pronounced, whereas sometimes it's just more of a vanilla flavor with a subtle hint of whatever flavor you ordered. They carry a variety of hot and cold deli style sandwiches and they all looked good. You can also just purchase fresh bagels. There is both indoor and few outdoor seats. Great selection of items and clean dining area, but dead quiet without music. Nice outdoor seating available too. Worst is the "order here" sign. Apparently I thought that I was standing in the right spot, but, several people came in and ordered ahead of me, as I thought that they were picking up to go. Spoke with the cashier who told me that the order location was wherever he was standing. Kinda rude as how am I supposed to know who the cashier is of the day on each visit? I saw a tweet recently that said something along the lines of "There's nothing like waking up hungover and going to Sarah's Bagels" ... and I feel that. Sarah's Bagel Cafe is a local gem that really makes downtown Boise feel like a city neighborhood. My order is a Vietnamese iced coffee and "New Yorker" which is a salmon lox bagel. Vietnamese coffee is probably my favorite form of coffee- the sweetness of the condensed milk plays off beautifully off the bitter coffee. I've gotten the large before and I always regret it- even when sharing with another person- it is a HUGE 32oz drink. The "New Yorker" ($9.99) is a Bagel w/herb cream cheese, cappers, double smoked salmon (lox), tomatoes, onion, and sprouts. I get it on the pesto-cheese bagel or if they're out of that one- the super seed bagel. They also have a GF bread option!! The assortment of baked goods they have on the counter is great, my favorite are the coconut cookie macaroons (not macarons). The ambiance gives off major neighborhood deli-style vibes. There is no shame in the game at Sarah's Bagels- they have chef "Mike"...rowave out front and center. When you place your order, the staff will write it down on a little sticker with sharpie and then off to the microwaves they go. A lot of people are turned off by the microwaves and they would probably greatly benefit from having "Chef Mike" out of sight, but I don't really mind. read more

First time ordering from them, so I don't know how consistent this is or if it was a bad fluke, but I ordered a plain bagel with plain cream cheese. It doesn't get any more simple than that. When it arrived, it looked like they put cream cheese on it, and then scraped it off. Meaning there was a white coating of sorts, but no cream cheese. I ordered delivery because I couldn't leave. So I couldn't go out and buy the cream cheese theyd taken off for some reason. So the bagel was thrown in the garbage, and I had to order food from somewhere ELSE And wait even longer for food, on top of paying for it TWICE. I had no interest in a bagel with no cream cheese. Got a large iced vanilla chai latte and they charged me $9. NINE DOLLARS for an iced tea. The menu said it was $3.99 for a large vanilla chai latte. When I asked them why it was so much they said because it was iced? So apparently they charge $5 for ice? The owner just argued with me and basically just said tough. The guy at the counter had no customer service whatsoever and the staff is just rude. Their cream cheese is weird and like grainy and seems thinned out. I used to love this place but I will absolutely never be back. Morning after Halloween, everyone is hungover and craving carbs. I've eaten here a total of 3 times now. At first I was happyy with my order. Had the lox bagel and it wasn't bad. After going a couple more times I've realized it's just overall a low quality of food. I had the French dip and it was inedible. Cheap bread and the meat tasted old and gross. Fingers crossed my boyfriend will eat it but I don't think he's going to like it either. I had the egg cheese and bacon bagel and it was okay but you can taste that the food quality is low. The folks behind the counter were friendly and the service was fast. Had black coffee which was also decent. My only suggestion for improvement would be toasting the bagels for the bagel sandwiches. I do like this place a lot but the last couple of times that I've been there have disappointed me. It seems like they got some new staff and therefore my bagel is getting messed up more often. After a horrible travel delay, Sarah's was open and within walking distance of our hotel on Christmas Day. Upon arriving it was busy but prompt. Boise doesn't have many bagel places but this one is pretty good. Reminds me of the bagel shops in he bay area which are my favorite!

So here I sit in Sarah's Bagel Cafe, formerly Andy's deli. I have just run the Fit One 10K and I'm starving. It's about 45 degrees out and the rain is starting to come down. I'm watching Saturday Market patrons out the window, most of whom are ill-prepared for the inclement weather. I was promised just a short wait for my Asiago bagel with veggie cream cheese and a tall black coffee. I decide to pick up a slice of pumpkin chocolate chip bread to-go. What the hell, fall is definitely in the air today. A handful of people come and go, getting bagels and coffee. Why this place isn't packed to the gills is beyond me, especially on a day like today. Veggie cream cheese is a godsend for me. This place did not disappoint. TONS of crunchy veggie chunks litter the thick spread. The bagel was the perfect warmth, crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle with a great Asiago flavor. 5 stars for that combo. Wow. Not sure what the coffee is. Could be regular 'ol Boyd's or Farmer Bros. It was fresh, though. I'm not a coffee snob. I'm happy as long as it's black, hot and not sour. Friendly people in here who aim to please. I really enjoyed it. Can't think of a better way to spend $7.75 right now. That's a bargain for what all I got. Give it a try. read more

The owner and main worker here is just the best person. He is what keeps the place moving and is the most friendly thoughtful person. GREAT SERVICE. In top of that, the quality of bagels is great, good texture and flavor. My favorites would have to be, in this order, spinach garlic, Hawaiian, and lastly jalapeño cheddar. SUPER GOOD! I recommend the blt on spinach garlic bagel OR the Hawaiian bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. My god so good. Thanks for being consistent!! read more
