I randomly came here to see a movie because they had a showing for it and OMG! This place is a true hidden gem. It's adorable and they have it alllll. Not only does it feel cozy and a mini blast from the past but they have literal coffee bar, alcoholic beverages, candy, popcorn, and actual food like lasagna. You could even get red vines by the piece instead of buying a whole pack, so thoughtful! I got 6 because that's all I needed to satisfy my red vine hankering. They had an adorable covered patio, and the theatre itself is tiny and intimate only a handful of rows. Felt like you went into your own personal basement movie theatre at your friends house, just the Flicks is much better. Gosh I will not see a movie anywhere else, ever again. You guys have my consistent business.

    Small intimate theater setting.

Cute little theater with 4 screens. Nice customer service. They don't have the typical Hollywood movies; which is a good thing. Not much free parking for evening movies, but sufficient for afternoon viewing. No free WiFi. Small bathrooms (separate for men and women) on right side by food area. And when a movie ends there is always a long line which sucks. DVD rental on left side after entering where screens 3+4 are. After many visits now I reduced it to 4 stars (previously 5 stars). The reason being service is hit or miss on friendliness. And the restrooms while being clean almost always have a line. There really is no excuse for not adding on to that and making them larger with more stalls. Lastly, the movie screens are not wide enough to handle the new 16:9 wide screen format. So you will see part of the movie on the wall to the left and right of the screen. About 18" worth on each side. Management please buy new correct size projector screens!

Waiting in line for another fine movie.

The Flicks is a great example of a community theater showing outstanding movies that in most cases aren't going to be the blockbusters that appear on the large chain screens. The four screening rooms are fairly small but the seats are comfortable and the building is well-maintained. The staff is friendly and it's a good place to watch a movie. The admission price is also lower than what is charged at the big box theaters.

Great, old fashioned, homey, movie theater. I wonder if its days are numbered though because of some stupid chain hotel that is supposed to be built in that area :( It will be very sad if they close up and tear this place down. I absolutely LOVE this theater! It brings you back to when you were a kid, to when life was a little simpler, when people were a little friendlier, when life wasn't so stressful. Yeah, I know I make it sound serious LOL..but it brought back a ton of memories for me when I first went and I was so happy to see it there and to go and would be devastated to see it go. I heard recently a "boutique hotel" is supposed to go up in that area...Im hoping its not in top of this theater. Its just nice to have some real character left in a city that is going to all "new" While it is still here...check it out, you'll love it! Great staff! Prices are AWESOME!! I paid 6.00 bucks for a popcorn and a soda! Crazy! at an Edwards...that would cost 11.50 or some crap like that haha!! Great place! Go check it out :) They also have a little restaurant in there. You can order and eat in the theater, or eat by the fireplace, or eat out on the patio...so cool! love it!

Beer, wine, food and movies, it's like home only better!

Great local theater. It's fun to grab dinner and a movie here. We celebrate my son's Christmas Day birthday here almost every year.

It never turns into one of those packed, mega-theaters full of chaos and noise where you can't even enjoy the movie. The vibe is calmer, and you can actually focus on what's happening on screen. The comfy recliner seats are always a selling point for us and in every theater so you never have to wonder if you'll be lucky and get to sit in them! I find they don't have as many fees as other theaters in the area and I especially love $5 Tuesday, which makes it easy to go more often without feeling like you're blowing your budget. One thing to note: parking isn't paid for so you got to walk a little from a free spot downtown. I have been told the concessions are pricier but I always skip those!

My fiancé and I caught Masters of the Universe today at 12:10 PM, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. What made it great: The Giant Screen: The laser projection and picture quality are unmatched. Seeing the action on such a massive, sharp screen made the film even better. Premium Recliners: The luxury seating is incredibly spacious with tons of room. The seats recline all the way back, and they feature handy attached trays where we could comfortably set our food and drinks. Excellent Concessions: You can't go wrong with the classic movie combo. Our popcorn was delicious, the Coke was perfectly crisp, and we even walked away with an awesome limited-edition popcorn tin! The theater has a sleek, upscale vibe, and the staff was fast and welcoming. It's a wonderful addition to the downtown area. We will absolutely be back!

I've…read morehad the pleasure of seeing their presentations of Indiana Jones, Grease, Labyrinth, The Princess Bride, 16 Candles, ET, and Young Frankenstein--so much fun! What I love about the series is that, not only are you afforded the opportunity to see classic films on the big screen (in the case of ET? Nothing better than the bicycle scene on the big screen! Seriously!), but you also get to see that film in a theater full of people who love it as much as you do! People cheer the heroes, boo the villains, sometimes shout lines ("Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."), and the whole thing usually ends in applause. Grease even turned into a bit of a singalong (Look at me, I'm Sandra Dee...). Boise Classic Movies also arranges to bring in a bar during their films, so you can get a glass of wine or local craft beer (Payette Brewing's Mutton Buster Brown was on tap the last time I was there!). The Egyptians concessions are also open for the usual popcorn/candy/soda fare. They even gather nominations on their website if there's a classic film you're just dying to see on the big screen. Once they gather the nominations, you can go on their site and vote for your favorite. This past Summer I went to this theater not once but TWICE!…read more I say it like that bc in the time that it's been open...I had never gone. Always went to the village. Went to see Jurassic World and Superman here. Loved both movies. Love the theater. For some reason I thought it would be bigger tho..or at least the lobby. I know, random lol, but I was surprised to see how small the lobby area is compared to other theaters. The theater itself is kinda small. Still, a great place to see a movie. We went for the matinee for both...to avoid crowds. Thank God for that bc each time we were leaving, place was packed on our way out. That made super happy to see....to see people still going to movie theaters despite what people say online and elsewhere. As a 90s kid when movie theaters were life! Haha especially 90s kids who grew up in a small city where we didn't have much to do...the movies being one of the biggest things to do... Point is lol, there's nothing better than seeing a movie like Jurassic World or Superman in theaters. Hell, any movie really. I hope theaters are around forever. So when you go to a movie now and see it busy like this place was...even during the matinee, it's nice. Then theater itself is suuuuuper clean! There was a mess up front where people spill shit and don't bother to clean it up, but that's to be expected?! People can be selfish and not even tell staff. Aside from that, it's impressive to see how spotless this place is. And at the very end of the movie, the staff floods into the theater to clean up. I know they do that everywhere, but there were like 10 of them when we were trying to watch the extra ending to Superman....which we felt weird with them all waiting on us...so we bounced and boooo didn't see the extra ending lol. No biggie. They were super nice about it. Prices are what you'd expect. Cheaper than the village, but comparable to most. That's the only complaint I'd have. Prices for theaters have jumped dramatically! Like ... dramatically! I get why they increased their prices, but ooof! That with buying a drink or whatever...shit is definitely pricey. The Coke pic I posted...medium was like ... $6! SIX. DOLLARS!! Chyle! That's a no from me hahaha! They have super comfortable "luxury" recliners. That's pretty awesome. Most theaters are doing this, I think? I dunno. Either way, it definitely makes watching the movie better. Still better than watching at home. Streaming is great and all, but ugh it's ruined so much. The staff is super friendly. Kinda shy a lot of them but they were nice. That of course always helps bc in so many (most) retail type stores/places the employees are so detached and want nothing to do with the people they're supposed to be helping lol...the people they applied to work for/with haha! So yeah, it's nice to see a friendly staff. This may have been just my first and second time here. I'll definitely be back. (Probably thought I'd say "but it won't be my last!" That would have been so corny tho hahaha) It's a great theater. I know most have already been but if you haven't...it's definitely worth it. Oh and the Art Deco-y atmosphere is super cool! Absolutely love that. Thanks, YelperMovIeGoerrrs! Cheers!
