Super cute food truck, never seen one like it. Looks literally like they brought a commercial kitchen with them, on wheels. Has windows on it too for a nice touch. They came to my workplace for lunch and the cashier was ok. Not particularly friendly, but did the job. The guy who I guess was making the pizza was cool. While the line was forming, he came up to the window and talked with us. Pizza took about 15 minutes until they were ready and at first I thought wow this was $9? But once I received it and ate it, it was well worth it. It's amazing to think there's a pizza food truck where they make it right there & then. I gave this place a two star rating because I have definitely experienced better pizza elsewhere - Chicago's Gino's East, Italian pizza in Rome, Pink's Pizza in Houston, etc. Heck, earlier in the week I was at Your Pie for $15 unlimited pizza during a Rockets game. Yet, the cheapest singular pizza at this food truck was probably $11. I ordered the carbonara pizza, which had egg, bacon, and cheese. There is no traditional marinara sauce, but that's what I wanted. The bacon pieces were legit, and without the bacon pieces, you'd have a glorified cheese bread. The bacon is what added flavor to the pizza. This is in contrast to Your Pie where I had a pizza without sauce (just olive oil), where all of the toppings contributed to the flavor. I know it sounds strange to have a pizza without sauce, but it is not uncommon in Italy. I think if the prices were to be a bit cheaper, I would consider raising the rating. The issue is the value you get compared to other places. I do realize this is a food truck and licensing is expensive, but even compared to other food trucks, I think you could get tastier food for the price. I paid about $26 to a food truck a couple of weeks ago and got 3 items. At least the pizza sufficed while drinking though. Next time, I will bring my own food to Spring Street Beer and Wine Garden! I was really hoping that 006 would defy the reviews and be amazing. I was met with a mediocre experience, lots of opportunities for improvement, and disappointment. I was first in line at Levy Park to place an order. It took just over 30 minutes for me to receive my food- and yes, they were set up and ready to go when I walked up. My "regular" sized caprese pizza was $13. They also offered a "park size" (half of a regular) for $6-$8ish. I posted a picture of my pizza (with my hand for reference). For $13, I was expecting a lot more (and I'm used to higher food truck prices). The pizza was baked in a neat pizza oven- I will give credit that the truck set up and oven are very original and cool to watch! The actual taste of the pizza? Meh. Arugula was fresh but overwhelmingly heaped on, "homemade" mozzarella was okay, sauce was definitely from a can. I will say- everyone who worked there was very nice and professional, the owner (who was making the pizzas) is definitely from Italy and knows what he's doing. To be fair, my review is just for the service... Since I walked away before even placing an order. I am super laid back and don't like transactions like this, but I couldn't handle the "pizza man" He's like the "soup nazi" of pizza. I just wanted the caprese without arugula, perhaps substituting basil, but he proceeded to yell... And yell.. And insist, "it's not gonna work!" Um, I just don't like arugula.... Pretty sure it may still "work." His helper tried to meet my preference (for which I would have even paid extra) and ease the situation by saying, "yeah, we can do that" and giving him the universal "stop" throat-cut-wave, probably realizing how ridiculous his defiance was, but he kept complaining about the no "working-ness" of it. So then I said (possibly foolishly) "I'm from NY, I've had fresh mozz & tomato pizza without arugula - I know what I don't like." He said, "yeah he's from Italy where they invented pizza; they frown on NY pizza." I think it's a new food truck... I visited here on a weekend visit to Houston. It was a cute food truck next to a bar, where you can take your pizza and sit and drink at the bar if you want to. I love food trucks because they are usually the bomb. This one, however, was disappointing; although, the price point is very good. For $13 I had my dinner. I ordered the margarita pizza and the organic salad. The pizza came out of their wood-fired oven after 20 minutes. At least I got my food exactly when he said it was ready. I looked at it and knew right away it was off. The flavors were good on top of the pizza (grated cheese, tomato sauce, basil). The mozzarella cheese baked into the pizza was barely there. And the crust was VERY HARD TO CHEW. I think their dough is off. Pizza is all about having the right crust. This one was rubbery. I was hoping it'd be crispy, but it was not. I tried the organic salad. The arugula and cherry tomatoes were fresh. The roasted red peppers came out of a jar, I think. They didn't have that homemade char on them.
