I really really enjoy Talespin, if you're gluten free, you need to try this place! Their gluten free pizza is legit. It's not a cauliflower crust or a paper thin, crumbly, cracker type gluten free pizza. They're super consistent, and I know that whatever I order will be good period. I've order from here via their website and Uber Eats at least 8 times, and each time it's great! I will say that sometimes the crust lacks flavor, but nothing homemade garlic butter can't solve!

Top tier pizza! The dough has that perfect chew while also maintaining a good crunch. It was my first time trying this place and I will be coming back to check out their other pizzas. I came in when the chicken tikka pizza was available and although it wasn't my favorite out of the three I got it was a cool combination of flavors. My favorite was definitely the coffee cowboy. Steak + pizza is a win in my book. I do wish the steak slices were spread out a bit more so each bite could have some steak. My only criticism with the place was that the slices weren't consistent. Some were super small while others were really big and it made sharing the slices a little difficult. Coffee cowboy: 9/10 Truffle my funguy: 9/10 super rich and a great vegetarian option One with the herd: 7/10 good flavors but needed some more cheese or sauce

It took me many a months to take a spin around the Tailspin block. I heard great things so boy was I surprised to find them located across the highway from one of my favorite 'za slingers Pizaro's! That's bold! I love Neapolitan pizza pies but this was my first time experiencing "NeoTexan" pizza. That being said, I ordered the One for the Herd with Unami chili bomb, the Pig & Chicken (for my partner), and an order of roasted carrots, leaving my fate in the trusted hands of chef brothers Devan & Eddie. Their menu packed with ingredients like smoked tomato, bone marrow bolognese, sherry and thyme pan roasted mushrooms, and coffee crusted steak, I grabbed my pies from the beautifully decorated pocket pizza window expecting big bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and precise execution. My husband would say he received all three. I would say the same regarding the carrots. The pie I chose wasn't my favorite rendition of the translated dish. This is perhaps because I've experienced other versions with bouncier crusts to support the bold favor profile, and pockets of fresh vegetables and acidity that do the same. Nevertheless, I can certainly say Talespin crafts a quality pie. I'm interested in trying their other offerings, and am incredibly excited to add a new style of pie to the intimate Houston pizza scene!

Finally got to try this place out. Pretty pricy pizzas. I use cheese pizzas as my baseline. And the cheese was great. All the pizza had nice chewy crust and very thin crust. All the other pizzas we got were very flavorful but I think less is more for pizza. Each slice is extremely filling. We got the carrot (good mix of flavor but didn't taste a lot of pecan), bone marrow (simply too heavy for me, I think if it had broccoli time something it'd be great, instead I was adding salad to each slice), crispy chicken (nothing was crispy on this pizza, flavor is good but no crispy chicken like described). We got all our pizzas well done and the crust was still floppy and a bit soggy. The carrot side and Caesar salad also like flavor bombs. Overall it's a great Neapolitan pizza spot.

This was my third time trying Talespin Pizza, and I've now established based on 3 tries: this place is legit. Everything on the menu sounds delicious. I've had the bone marrow bolognese pizza - amazing. Second time was build your own pizza (BYOP) with lots of veggies - also spectacular. Third time around, we heard about Shawn the Food Sheep's collab creation - the One for the Herd - which is basically a tikka masala pizza - and again, so good. If you're into creative pizza inventions (they call themselves a neotexan sourdough pizza place), Talespin is definitely worth a try, and then another, and another. Overview of experience: the restaurant is located off I-10 near Kirkwood on the feeder on the north side of the freeway. Parking can be tight but the spaces turnover quickly as they get a lot of to-go business. You walk in, ordering counter is 5 feet from the door, stand in line (not for long) and they take your order. You pay, tip, and they give you a buzzer. 15 minutes later - voila! The space is quite small. There are 4 seats inside and a few tables outside. It's Houston so it's either 40 degrees outside in the winter or 90 degrees in the summer. Just kidding - there are plenty of good months you can enjoy your pizzas outside. The place is clean but definitely not good to large parties if you plan to dine in. Pro tip: if nature calls, you can ask to access the restroom and they'll let you use it. I'm hoping this place does really well and stays in business for a very long time!

Keeping with my five theme because quality and staff are consistent. I still believe their Caesar Salad is outstanding. Jalapeno Spinach Artichoke Dip left us a little disappointed; while good, we wish the Jalapeno shinned through more. Chili crunch pizza without pickles, surprisingly delicious. We wish the crust held a little better but overall great quality.

I heard some things about this place on tiktok and saw the yelp reviews. I was honestly pretty excited since I was in the area today. The guy at the register was really nice and felt welcoming. I ordered a cheese pizza for my son and chicken pizza for me. He ate one slice and decided it wasn't for me. I was pretty hungry and ate 3 1/2. They were kind of too burnt for my liking. I did smell some type of burning smell when I walked in but I just hoped it wouldn't happen to our pizza. Maybe I'll come back again and try it and just ask for less cook? I don't know how it works but it had potential.

Shout out to shawnthefoodsheep on IG for recommending this place! Talespin pizza was some of my favorite pizza I've had in Houston! What they call "NeoTexan" sourdough pizza, I call delicious haha. We came on a Fri night for dinner and this place was BUSY, but for great reason. My only small complaint was that I didn't realize how small this place was before coming here. There is literally only 4 counter seats inside at the window then enough space to form a small line to order/pickup. Small space aside, this pizza was creative and very well made. We tried their B2P2, bone marrow bolognese, and their classic pepperoni. All 3 pizzas were so good it was hard to pick our favorite! I actually want to come back ASAP because so many of the pizzas on the menu sounded too good not to try, specially the coffee cowboy and chili crunch chicken. My only other tip would be to order your pizza well done if you're taking your pizza to go and have longer than a 15 min drive. Otherwise, dig in right away and you'll be pleased for sure, enjoy!

Neotexan Pizza?? I had to try it! I love when pizza has a paper thin crust and this was exactly that! The outercrust was also chewy and airy. I ordered an assortment of pizzas since everything on the menu sounded so unique! So, I had my eyes on the bone marrow bolognese pizza for the longest time, but whenever I wanted to order it, it was sold out! Same thing happened every time there was brisket offered as a topping, so it must be popular! The pizzas are so pretty. Not the absolute best I've ever had but compared to other pizza places in the area, this spot is not bad. I'm not sure how I felt about having buffalo sauce and bbq sauce on the same pizza (it was called the Buff or BBQ and we ordered it with buffalo sauce but bbq sauce was drizzled on top too??), or the ricotta being sweeter than normal, or was I tasting hot honey on everything??? I finally tried the bone marrow bolognese but actually it didn't turn out to be my favorite. The cup pepperonis are great! The pizzas aren't super salty like everywhere else. The truffle pizza turned out to be my favorite out of the assortment we ordered! Also, ask for the pizzas to be well done/extra crispy because I feel like the crust kind of flops normally. So out of everything we ordered, the truffle fun-guy (fungi), pepperoni, and cheeseburger ones were the best.

Really good pizza near the spring branch area. Such unique and different pizza flavors we throughly enjoyed. We got the bone marrow bolognese, the big red, Chili Crunch Chicken, and the Rita. All were delicious and so unique. The spices and flavors were melting on my tongue. The service was 10/10. Accommodating and awesome. Small place on the inside but we still ate there as they offered paper plates and napkins. I would recommend if you're in the area.

I highly recommend this spot for pizza. The customer service is excellent and so is the pizza. I appreciate them having halal options, and they confirmed they are very careful with cross contamination between halal vs. non-halal items. I got the Coffee Cowboy pizza, which consists of coffee-infused steak and a smoked onion sauce. IT WAS AMAZING. The steak on there was SO TENDER and the flavors just fused together so well. I only wish there was a little more steak on the pizza. The inside space is pretty tiny, with some bar seats, but the outside has tables and chairs, so keep that in mind when it's triple digits out. I really appreciate that they have paper towel on the tables because things can get really messy. I wish I tried this at the beginning of my trip instead of my last day, I probably would have ate here 2 more times!

Devin & his bro own it , they have been open for about 17 months. They came here from Austin. Their pizza is amazing. They use high-end quality ingredients. It's a tiny place. You basically walk up and order your pizza called in and you leave. They've got about four tiny tables outside, kind of like sprinkles, cupcakes set up this Pizza is blowing away the competition you've got to try it out.

Back again this time for my daughters 18th birthday. Decided to take it back to the era of pizza and a movie like we use to when we were kids, just leveled up the pizza while watching black phone 2 Chicken pesto Pepperoni (minus ricotta- cause not everyone is down with ricotta smh) Cowboy coffee Caesar Salad Didn't get to eat it there had to get it to go and drive it back to sugarland so that's the only part that sucks because their pizza is good cold, Luke warm, even for breakfast the next day but having it fresh out of the oven is like no other.

They did not seem to care. The problem with restaurants becoming as popular as this place is that, as the customer base grows, they will care less and less. It seemed to us that they had overbooked the restaurant and were unable to find seating. The food may be good, but if the service is not commensurate with that, there is no point to dining at a place like this. It behooves management to pay attention to how many reservations they take and their ability to honor customers to reserved ahead.

Courteous, always making sure the customers were taken care of well and were served in a timely manner. Often came to our table making sure everything was ok, if we needed anything else and with this big old smile on his face. Definitely we will be back as well as recommended this place to our friends. Slavi should be commended for his great job.

We ain't in Queens anymore…read more For years, I've eaten on Shah's all around the borough, initially out in Ozone Park and Briarwood before finding a real audience in Sunnyside. Now that they've sufficiently blown up around NYC, I was a bit shocked (and excited) to see them finally come to H-Town. What's the verdict? It's good enough to pass muster for NY standards (#1), is open super late, and will likely be my go-to Halal food for the foreseeable future. Since I've only had it in cart form, I'm still a buggin over the fact it's become a franchise. It's similar to my shock of eating Halal Guys at a store for the first time. The digs feel as foreign (prices, large, clean and bright interior) as it does familiar (taste, logo, etc.). Even though I had a laugh seeing the wall photo-mural of a Shah's cart in Times Square, I did appreciate the nod to Ozone Park with the 121st & Liberty street signs. The chicken + lamb combo platter ($12) is and always will be the winner. The lamb had the same kind of seasoning that most Halal spots out here try to replicate but can never get right. The rice was fluffy, and the white sauce was easily the highlight. I can understand why they've decided to bottle it up and sell it as liquid gold. It makes every meal better. Kofta ($12) and chapli ($13) are rarely my favorites, but I knew I had both in platter form. The addition of adding chickpeas and these other salads is not something I'm used to from the carts (#2) but I loved the fact it was drowned in the white sauce with a dash of hot sauce. The latter is supposedly extremely hot, but I didn't find it that spicy. While I have to say the cheeseburger was a bit of a disappointment (overly bready, thin patty), the pakora chips and french fries were fabulous. They were perfectly seasoned, had a nice crisp, and frankly would be an excellent, gut-busting addition to any platter. I don't love the extra charge, but I hope they remain consistent with it. This store location in Westchase along Westheimer is an up and coming part of town. There are numerous Middle Eastern businesses in the adjacent area, along with an abundance of parking spots and a good amount of late night activity. Service was friendly but I do hope they keep their standards up. As time goes on, I'm 100% convinced this will be a destination for the many late night meal seekers and fans of NY nostaligia. __________ (#1) Which automatically supersedes a lot of the ones here in Houston. Just keeping it real. (#2) Is the chickpeas a Houston thing? Genuinely curious.

This is a nicely sized spot next to the Jusgo plaza in Houston Chinatown, so plenty of parking and also food options. It's tucked in a corner but should not be written off. Its a pretty casual sitdown restaurant and we were welcomed and sat pretty quickly on a Saturday around 8:30PM. We were provided menus and started ordering everything that sounded good (within reason for 2, sorta). We ended up getting the Uyghur polo with lamb shank, Uyghur goshnaan, korma chop, garlic cucumbers, mint tea, and a yogurt for dessert. This was more than enough food for 2 but I wanted to try a bunch and this is me holding back. The Uyghur goshnaan was very crispy and the filling was flavorful and juicy, good lamb flavor and nice spices. The Uyghur polo with lamb shank was great and the pilaf had a nice sweetness with raisins that cut through some of the fatty richness of the lamb. The korma chop was also super flavorful with a nice savory sauce and noodled with an excellent texture, very QQ. I don't usually order cucumbers at Asian restaurants cause I can make a cucumber salad pretty easily at home but the one here was very good. Excellent refreshing crunch and garlic flavor to go with all the other dishes. The mint tea was also nice to wash down the mountains of food I was inhaling. I also enjoyed the yogurt, it's a thicker yogurt like a Greek yogurt and topped with honey and raisins. Again, a nice sweet/tart treat that didn't feel too heavy after everything else. I definitely need to come back as I didn't even get my big plate chicken but it'll be hard to choose between all the options. I def recommend this spot, esp if you like lamb as all the dishes we had were excellent and priced fairly for the portion and current economic situation.

I didn't catch the name of the gentleman at the front but he was super easy going, professional and patient with us while we decided why to get since it was our first time. But given the price I'd opt for other spots.. The amount of wing flavors is vast but they lack flavor. I tried the spicy honey lemon pepper and they were mid. Not nearly enough lemon pepper, no spice and they sat in the honey sauce. To be clear they were not nasty, I ate all 6. But I also got a tea and the 6 piece with the drink was right at $18. I'm a "I want what I want" kinda person so I don't mind the sticker shock when the food justifies it. That was not the case. Also the young lady working the register needs to be re-trained. She seems to be in high school so it's definitely inexperience but I called to place the order over the phone and she answered "Hello". I thought I had the wrong number because who answers a business line like that so I hung up. When I got to the restaurant I was looking at the menu and the young lady stared at me so intensely I had to tell her she was making me uncomfortable. Like why are you staring at me while I stare at the menu? Then when I started to placed the order she stopped me mid sentence to tell me they didn't have any deals on wings that day. This honestly just seemed like she was trying to be helpful but was still off putting. The girl seems super sweet but definitely needs some guidance on how to work with customers. Lots of wings flavors but from my experience none of them are done well enough to justify what they're charging.
