Hottest week in Austin on record and the A/C at a rental property went down. I called O2 at 8:30am. They met with the tenants on site and the problem was fixed before noon. The price was great -- they replaced the capacitor and tested everything else without taking advantage of the fact that I wasn't there. Before I called O2, I called 2-3 other companies-- all had multiple day waiting lists. However, calling those companies first made me appreciate O2 availability, service, and honesty even more. Chris and the guys at O2 Kool are great. I have used them previously for minor things and they are very responsive. A couple weeks ago I needed to replace my unit after 23 years. Brad had done an estimate last year and even with price increases in 2023 Chris worked with me to give virtually the same price. Our A/C unit stopped working in 100+ degree heat. I called for service early the next day and they were able to send a technician out that afternoon (another 100+ degree day). The technician was very knowledgeable about the brand and model of our unit, determined the issue quickly, and was able to get it working again that day. He also showed me some basic maintenance techniques that I can perform occasionally to help keep the unit running smoothly. As an electrical engineer, there were obvious flaws in the technician's troubleshooting technique. Know your technician's credentials.

I first called these guys in Aug 2020. My AC went out and they came out quickly to repair/replace it. They (Brad) busted up the trim around the unit closet and left somewhat of a mess, but I was just glad to get it up and running again and did not choose to make it an issue. Last year in 2023, the unit went down again. Took them longer to come out this time. They had to order the needed part (blower motor) and they were not sure when they would get the part. During the extended time that my unit was out, we were having record breaking temps. I got no call backs or updates. Calls went un-answered. But they finally came back out and replaced the motor, but found another issue which he said he "by-passed" so I would have air. When that part came in, he would bring it out and replace it at no additional charge. That NEVER happened!! Surprise, surprise, this year the blower motor went out again, Aug. 6 this month. They did not come back out until the next day, no heads up call, just showed up. Yep, same issue. He would have to order the part, but he was going to go to a place and call some others and see if he could come up with one. Never called back, so I called and talked to Chris. He was going to have him call me back, which he did. It would be 3-5 days before they could get it. As soon as it comes in, they will be out. Here it is the 22nd of August and they haven't called or been back out. More days on end of triple digit temps, much like last year. I'm not a stupid person, I did call someone else. Chapman's H &A got here in less than an hour and I had running A/C in under two hours. I have not heard a word from O2 Kool and I am not holding my breath that I ever will. But I will also never call them again. If you ask me, you shouldn't either. They are less than professional, honest, honorable, or qualified. DO NOT trust them. read more

O2 Kool bailed us out of a home warranty claim nightmare. Our home warranty company, Total Protect, wanted to do a band aid repair on our 15+ year old unit. After considerable back and forth with Total Protect, we took their (paltry) cash-out offer, and ended up replacing our entire unit (air handler and outside condenser) through O2 Kool. They installed a top of the line Trane unit at a very fair price. Through the process we dealt with Chris the owner, Katie the office manager, JC a service tech (and sometimes salesman!), Brad and Josua (sp?) the installers. To a person they were all professional, polite, concerned for our situation, and eager to help us get cold air blowing again! We can't thank them enough for the help they provided. Most recently our downstairs unit stopped blowing cool air. Not only was it uncomfortable, but our tropical fish were at risk (due to the high water temps). This review has nothing to do with their A/C service but has more so do to with their lack of regard for our community. Exactly 25 minutes ago at 5p.m. On Friday I was driving down 1431 headed to Marble Falls. I was on the winding road with 2 vehicles in front of me. We were approaching a turn and a hill and the lines signaled a no passing zone. Well the Kool A/C driver apparently didn't care. He passed me and attempted to pass the Kia in front of me when he then ran the Kia off the road because a car was headed his direction. Not soon after he ran the Kia off the road he then passed a Sentra again in a no passing zone with oncoming traffic. Imagine my surprise when I ended up 3 cars behind him at a light in Marble Falls. His Truck # ended in 87. Your blatant disregard for fellow drivers in a community that you are attempting to gain business from makes me wonder what type of people you hire that could have possibly killed someone today. read more

Let me share my sad little story with a very happy ending.... Mother has moved to assisted living and I am residing in her home and getting it ready to sell. Enter the A/C issues. Get A/C fixed without being aware there is a hose in the attic with a good crack. Next, I leave out of state for a week and a half. Came back home to a mess. I called O2Kool..... During the late evening hours, they're service man, James R. came to Austin. I can not believe how quickly the leak was repaired and he installed new and up to date material. James explained what was going on up in the attic and what installation he performed. Coming out at 10:00 p.m.,extremely pleasant and proficient..... What more could one ask for!!!
