- I scheduled an appointment with 1-800-GOT-JUNK two weeks in advance to clear out my late parents' home before the sale closed. Despite confirming the date multiple times, they repeatedly tried to reschedule via text, which I declined due to the tight timeline -- we had to be out by Wednesday for the new owners. - We had already donated items to Goodwill and Amvets and sold a few pieces, but there was still a significant amount left -- quality furniture and boxed miscellaneous items, including some bagged trash. Since 1-800-GOT-JUNK claims to donate usable furniture, we chose them for the final haul. Leading up to the appointment, I confirmed the details and asked if we would need additional staff. I was told they would assess and adjust accordingly -- which didn't happen. The scheduled arrival window was 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. They didn't show up until 2:30 PM, with a truck already one-third full. I was expecting two empty trucks, as quoted. I called to express my concerns about the delay and the partial truck and was offered a 10% discount. It got worse. We were quoted for two full trucks. After filling the first, we were told a second would arrive shortly. Instead, they returned with the same truck still full and then claimed a miscommunication. My family moved items into the garage while waiting. Eventually, they arrived with a second, mostly empty truck, and began loading. Then a third truck arrived -- one-third full and reeking of dog feces. At the end of it all, they asked us to void the original check and issue a new one -- totaling $1,600 for 2.5 trucks. After they left, they called to say they couldn't accept a check over $799. One employee drove 45 minutes to return the check. Meanwhile, I called customer service to report the disorganized, disappointing experience. No one ever called back. My husband had to step in to demand accountability. In the end, we received a total discount of 12.5%, or $200 -- but the stress, delays, and lack of professionalism were not worth it. The two fellows worked hard. Customer Service needs to be aware of scheduling and what is actually junk and what is quality furniture. Clean trucks out without smell for people in need to get rid of stuff that can be donated. After many phone calIs and texts, I did get my front door fixed by their handyman. I had to take pictures and send them too, but they did fix it. I never really got a statement saying they were sorry about it, but it is back in it's original condition. I still don't know why I didn't get my organizer discount (NAPO) or why the guys who came to my house knew nothing about it. Will I try them again? I'm not so sure. read more

Used them as a first-time customer this week. I'm not sure if this location is the one that actually came out to my home, but regardless they were a great company to work with. They fit me into their tight schedule and made special accommodation for me to do so. They had no problem working with me while I wasn't home when they arrived, and simply accepted payment over the phone when they promised the work was complete with all the debris removal we had. I called early this morning to set up an appointment for removal of miscellaneous items at my home I was given an appointment time - 11 to 1. Around 1030 I was given a call told that they would be at my house closer to one no problem. Around I was given another call and told they would be at the home around three. Around 230 I was called by the franchise owner who left a mysterious message stating that his guys had told him other people were at my home removing garbage therefore they would not be coming to my house - this was not the case at all. Then before three I called franchise owner and canceled the pick up as I had already made other arrangements. I told the franchise owner I wasn't sure what his guys were talking about as no one else had been called - it just sounded like they - his guys- were covering their ass. Buyer be aware! I had a verbal agreement and a hand shake with the guy at my house. $600.00 to remove everything I had in my garage. Him and the other four guys loaded one truck! And then said that I agreed to $600.00 for one truckload. Which he knew was a total lie. I couldn't have been any clearer. When I complained to the company they called me back said they would look into it and call me the following day. They never called back. I would strongly recommend getting any agreement in writing. This company is amazing I called them the same day and they were able to come in last minute and squeeze me in on their schedule to come and pick up my garbage. Robert and Jose where very nice gentleman who helped me out a lot and made it very simple easy and quick.
