Buyer beware - having loaded many trucks with items before, they didn't arrange things in the most "space saving" way. There was a lot of "dead space" on the truck because of the way they loaded but when I brought it to their attention they were quick to provide a solution. Writing this review a few hours after the team left! It was an easy and reliable service all the way through. I booked a week in advance online and received a call the next day to confirm the appointment and answered any questions I had. Day of the appointment they called 30 minutes before my window to let me know they should be there on time or earlier. They found my apartment with no problem (usually people get lost trying to find it), explained the process, assessed the junk, and showed me the quote. After I gave them the go ahead they quickly got to work! The team of 2 worked very fast and safely! Masks were worn at all times and distances were kept. I would, however, give corporate the feedback that the checkout process for your crew is ridiculously complicated. On the plus side - same day service, good customer service. Efficient. On the negative - too expensive, they overcharge. If you do order, be the first customer so the truck is empty, they will otherwise (over) estimate how much space your furniture took in the truck. read more

I have used got junk several Times in the last 6 months and I typically leave a good review. But yesterday I called and these two clowns came out and tried to charge me 500 to take a tv and a bunch of cardboard boxes. The boxes I just didn't want to break down for recycle so I was throwing them in with the tv. I expected pay 150-300 at the most as I've gotten good at estimating the cost because I used them so much. Anyway they gave me the quote and I said no way, the literally dropped my tv on my back lawn and left! The tv is 55 inches it would leave a brown patch on the grass had i not found it. They were acting squirrelly and the clearly didn't want the job but like don't just drop my tv on the lawn and leave after trying overcharge me. Freaking rude. And by the way I broke fine all the boxes and they all fit in the recycle bin so I was right it was not 500 dollars worth of junk. fyi the owner responded to this post like she was gonna do something so people could see her response and think she did something but it's been weeks since she commented on the review and I haven't heard from her . Jay and Graham were on time, communicated very well, worked their butts off, and generally exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Are they cheap? No. Could you figure out a way to do this yourself for less $? Sure. But then, you could also remodel your house a lot cheaper by being your own general contractor.... The value of Got Junk is that they offer a complete solution. You don't have to gather stuff up; you don't have to rent a truck or a debris box; you don't have to figure out what needs to go to recycling vs. landfill; you really do just point at the stuff you want to disappear and they make it happen. They loaded our largest items first so we could get an idea of pricing and then we were able to load in the smaller items to fit within our budget. After moving to a new city, relocating personal items from both Orlando, FL and Los Angeles, CA, then buying a lot of furnishings, I had a massive pile of boxes and packing material. I tried to break them all down and put them in the regular trash and recycling pickups each week but this was a really insane amount of cardboard, styrofoam, etc. After the rains hit it, I gave up and called these guys. It was a lot of work and a full truck load of cardboard - and since the first truck already had some stuff in it, they sent along two more guys to take the remainder. There may be a little sticker shock on the price but they were up front with me, showed me the price list and gave me an accurate estimate of how much we were talking about. If you live in certain parts of the bay area like Saratoga or Los Gatos you will pay more for the exact same amount of junk to be hauled away then if you live in East San Jose. This is a crummy way to do business and I will NEVER use them again. They discriminate based on your zip code. Shame on them! read more

They were super friendly, quick and efficient. From the service side, you can't complain at all. They were careful carrying items out and made sure not to bump into anything or scratch any walls. Very happy with that, as I've had other companies that just seemed less meticulous in how they were carrying items or removing them. The downside is the cost. I had 4 items removed... a flat queen headboard (~1.5 inches thick), a standard floor vacuum, a basic metal bedframe, and a queen boxspring (~9 inches tall). Total cost was $365. Seems excessive. Unfortunately with the cost I won't be using them again, but I guess you at least are getting good service :) read more
