He told me I should have called a landscaper instead of their company because it would have been way cheaper and if I wasn't happy with the service they provided I shouldn't have paid... what a load of bull! I actually gave these guys a negative star rating but the (-) isn't showing... I contracted these guys to haul away some scrapped furniture from one of my properties, but by time they showed up for the pick up the trash had already decomposed completely. This has left the lawn on the property a funky gray color where grass refuses to grow. The customer service was bad, the physical service was worse, and the bad taste they left in my mouth is surely going to result in plaque buildup and future heart problems. I would've been better served corralling a tribe of goats to eat the trash rather than employing this service. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYBODY (unless you hate them). Yelp should stop posting discounts for companies because 1-800-haul-out did not honor this coupon and they charged me $400 plus the $50 I paid on this site for 15 trash bags and a small chest to be taken away. We bought an Amazon voucher for $99 that gave us 1/4 of a truck (supposedly a $247 value). We had a large pile of bricks, old cement blocks, tree limbs, bags of shingles, sticks, and other random yard refuse. We called and they quickly got us an appointment for the next day. They (Matt & Chris) showed up exactly on time and reviewed our pile and said they could take care of it for an additional $100 on top of our voucher. This was fine with us, as for $199 total cost they would do the hauling and loading of all that for us whereas our other only option was to get a dumpster for about $240 and do it ourselves. Anyhow, they were very friendly and got to work, constantly providing updates. Unfortunately, as they moved down the pile they ran into a bee nest, and one of them was allergic. However, they very kindly proceeded forward and just avoided the main bee area (note to others, inspect and SPRAY before these guys arrive). Anyhow, our load definitely took much more than 1/4 of the truck and they felt they had underestimated a little and didn't realize the number of bricks on the bottom of the pile, so we both agreed to up the final price to $150 additional on top of the voucher. So, this ended up being about the same cost to us, but we didn't do any of the work. Gave them each $10 for their help and hard work, and our yard is almost back to looking good (except the little pile still remaining for us to do Bee Battle with). Overall, these are good folks and provide you an estimate up front, so we were pleased. read more

This was the MOST ridiculous & WASTE of money! I bought a Groupon to get $100 worth of removal... Which I guess it's $100 off. I needed 2 TVs removed from my living room. Well I guess "the load" would have been 1/8 of a load so $187 so w my $100 off $87 to have 2 TVs removed. I was furious because that is absurd! So for my $100 I was able to have 1 TV removed. I am very disappointed in their service. They made my friend very upset. He asked me to come and help him, I had to come back several different times because they were 2 weeks late!!!!! I did all the work for them basically, I have asthma and had 3 attacks doing their work. Also, I'm allergic to cats and the old owner had cats. They still charged him Over $300... I was totally surprised and very happy with the service from this company. Justin and Jay were great. They were polite, efficient and helpful. they showed up on time and were actually waiting a few minutes for me. It would've taken me many hours and lots of sore muscles to clean out the house. Adam and crew were top-notch: on time, courteous, professional, friendly and thorough. They arrived with their truck half full, saw my items and realized they needed more room, so they came back the next morning (Saturday) and hauled out a desk, dresser, futon, treadmill, paint, and a coal cellar full of old wood. We filled an entire load. The cost is excellent considering it was around $100 more than renting a dumpster, and they carry everything out for you. I purchased a Groupon and as usual waited until it was about to expire to try and use it. I called, set a date and time very easily, and gathered up my junk. Unfortunately we were having a freezing cold day and they were not working that day. For some reason I didn't get the notice they were not coming. After my time frame was up I called and got the bad news. The owner was very apologetic and offered to come any day of my choosing as well as Saturday or Sunday. They came on a Sunday as scheduled, were very courteous , efficient and fair with the price. I would use them again. read more

Horrible!!! Don't ever use. We hired this firm to move several offices of furniture in downtown Pittsburgh. They came to our offices a few days before the move to give us a quote. They were polite and the price was reasonable. They were suppose to show up at 7 am. We called at 7:30 am and the person seemed to be just waking up. They finally showed up at 10:30 am and walked out on us at 10:35 am without saying a word. We called and they hung up on us. They never responded to the three messages that we left, even when we called the corporate office. We had asked our building manager and our office manager to come in early to help the movers, all for nothing. Ended up calling Junk Jurassic. They were here in less than 2 hours. Moved everything quickly and professionally. Saved us from having to pay another month's rent. Great firm. read more

I had a lot more construction debris than I realized. The estimated cost was going to be quite high to rent a dumpster with the capacity I needed. I called 1-800-Haul-Out and determined it was much more economical. I called and was able to set up the appointment for the next day. Absolutely unbelievable. If anyone deserves to be in the trash business, it's this garbage establishment. I've never seen so many incompetent people who lack the easiest business skills or customer service. I've had them reschedule more than once (or at least I think they did since they didn't show up without any communication). The workers were lazy, completely hated their job and it showed. The work was not what I was expecting, poor communication, work, and management. The price is INSANE. Completely overpriced, even if they did the job correctly. They sucker you in with their Groupon "deals" and coupons but there are numerous companies in the area that will do a better job for half the price. Shop around! Zero stars if I could read more

Haul out promised a price to us for a multiple load job.. Then because "too much time went by between hauls" they decided to not honor the price any longer.. So sorry that we had some circumstances beyond our control.. They frequently missed appointments and were late all the time.. Or would show up with a half full truck.. We put up with a lot since the price was so good.. But it just got real hard to deal with this company.. So now their competition is working with us.. OK - so here is my story. Called three groups to get rough hauling estimates by phone. Two groups told me the capacity rates per volume (and percentage of truck) and estimated what volume it sounded like I would need (they were both correct). Spoke with the person at 1-800-Haul-Out who gave me an 'average household' estimate but would never give me the rate for truck volume. My husband says at that point I should have bowed out. But set up for them to come and give on the spot estimate and remove household goods. On site their actual rates per volume (and percentage of truck) were much higher than other two company's estimates and double what I had been told was 'average'. After some bargaining they took the items at a reduced rate. However, they still didn't realize that what really upset me was the bait and switch (not the actual final price.) Have a couple thousand dollars of additional removal to do. Won't be using them. On the plus side they took the goods and did the removal well in a timely fashion, cleanly and carefully. It was the pricing and negotiating strategy that left the sour taste in my mouth. read more
