Sweet Jesus why didn't I check yelp before hiring them?!! Nevered showed up as scheduled, and I've sat here all morning waiting for the $50 am delivery I paid for. Then, after 48 minutes on the damn phone, she says 400pm. Half day vacation from work totally wasted, and now I had to take the rest of the day off because you didn't show up. You are a disgrace! ZERO stars Reserved 12 ft container well in advance. They did not deliver on confirmed date. Called customer service who insisted I requested the next day until I read the confirmation email to them. All she could say is "that's weird". The next morning they arrive with a 16 foot container which would not fit without sticking out into the road. they said there were no 12 foot containers available. So they left. We have had nothing but issues with this company. Our schedule POD drop off day was rescheduled without any notification. We waited around half a day waiting for it. I talked to costumer service and they did not know why it was rescheduled. They moved it to a day that didn't work for us so I rescheduled and was charged a few! Had to talk to costumer service again. Then in was supposed to be delivered in the am and got changed to 2-4pm without notice. Now we are waiting for it to be moved from one house to our new house. I paid the AM fee hoping to assure its arrival, no luck. I called at 1pm and was told we were moved to 3-7p so they took away the AM fee. Nothing by 7 so I called again and was told we were moved to 845. Nothing by 845 so I called again and was told we were the last pick up and should be next, nothing again. By 930 I checked and we have been rescheduled to 2 days from now! And our bed is in the POD! This company is supposed to help make moving easier but it has caused nothing but more stress and now we don't have a bed for a couple days. Would not recommend and will never use again. One positive, every costumer service agent I talked to was very pleasant and as helpful as they could be. read more

After flying into Cleveland to meet the drop-off of the container, 1-800-PACK-RAT was a NO-SHOW for 2 days, and didn't even bother to place a courtesy call regarding the delay. I had to CANCEL the entire reservation after the hired movers showed-up on Day 3 to NO CONTAINER!! By the way, the movers from Simple Moving Labor rudely walked-off the job due to NO CONTAINER! What a wasted trip for me!! I had to reschedule the entire move with one of your competitors for a month later. read more

The worst experience I've ever had in moving do not use them they gouge I got double dipped buy delivery and pickup of a container one truck did both I got charged like it was two.. When I called regarding this I was told I could not complain up the chain that there was no one above the supervisor Samuel who was rude and was not listening to what I was trying to say I will never use this company I do not recommend them to anyone.. Worst Experience! We were moving from the Cleveland, OH area to the Greensboro, NC area. Our containers were scheduled to be delivered on a Friday and didn't come until Tuesday. We had to call them to find out they were not coming. We lost a whole weekend of packing, and my husband was only home every other weekend. The drop off date had been scheduled for a month, but they surely had no issue in taking the money out of our account 10 days before the scheduled drop off date. The containers sat empty then for 10 days because I couldn't load them myself. We had scheduled for 2 containers one for house items and one for garage/basement/outdoor. We had them positioned accordingly in the driveway. When we opened them the day, we had people there to help us load we opened the one that was supposed to be for the inside of the house stuff, and it smelled like dog poop, and you could see where a dog had been in it. We didn't have time for a switch of containers because it was Saturday, and they were being picked up on Wednesday. The pickup day was scheduled for a Wednesday, again with plenty of notice but they did not pick up on Wednesday or Thursday. Our house was no longer ours on the Friday at noon and we had to call begging and pleading for our containers to be picked up by Friday at noon. We spent countless hours on hold with PACK-RAT during this whole ordeal. They would give us $100 off here or there for the inconvenience - not nearly enough for what we went through and paid. They were in storage for a month and then dropped off at our new house - on the day we scheduled - a miricale. Big problem was they brought the first one and it was backwards with the opening facing the road instead of the house. I asked if it could be turned around and the driver said no. She said the instructions in the system were for it to be facing the driveway - I never put any instructions into the system (also which end of the driveway?). We had them scheduled for pick up yesterday but of course they didn't get picked up. We only had them for 10 days out of the current months charge. I was told when I agreed to use PACK-RAT that if we had containers less than 15 days of the 30 days charge, we would be refunded for half the month. When we called to find out why they had not been picked up they said they would get to it when they could and that they did not refund any of the monthly charges ever that was not a company policy. I would NEVER recommend PACK-RAT to anyone! read more

Do not use this company for storage or distance moving. You will have no local contact who will help or return calls. Everything has to go thru the 800 number including getting access to your stored items. The phone tree on the 800 number is ridiculous and not designed for customer service. You can't manage anything on your online account. Not updating cc info or arranging for a location visit. The company does everything via third party contracts and they don't care about customer service at all. They are only attentive when giving quotes and getting your payment info. After that, they don't care. read more

This was the most horrific moving experience. I would strongly recommend that no one EVER uses them. Their service was atrocious in that my pod was lost for over a week, and I was not given ANY answers until one day it showed up more than a week later. It was extraordinarily stressful, and made my move a complete nightmare. I had to spend hundreds of dollars to replace items while I was waiting in limbo for my pod. I reserved two units from packrat on May 15, 2018. I had movers scheduled for June 8th and the units to be delivered on Jun 7th. The morning of June 7th I was informed that there was a sign at the end of my road saying no large trucks. I told her it was a private road but large trucks traveled the road all the time. She said they didn't care that she was canceling my order. When I asked what I was supposed to do she said "I suggest google" When I again said there is no problem with trucks of the road she said your order is canceled and hung up on me! I called Pods they said no problem..we know the road and we will be there!! They cost more but are polite and helpful. I would not recommend packrat to anyone! read more

1-800-PACK-RAT needs to rethink their customer service identity. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. A few months ago, we used them to move across the country. Upon initial delivery of the packing container, the driver effortlessly backed into our driveway to drop off the container right where we had requested. Upon leaving our driveway, however, he carelessly cut his turn way too short and ran over our mailbox. Okay super inconvenience, but surely this company will make it right, yes? Wrong. I called to explain what happened and was told to file a claim and purchase a new box immediately. Upon submission of my photos and receipt, I received a response two days later that my claim had been denied because I signed a waiver stating that I accept all liability for any damage that could occur upon delivery/pick up if my property is insufficient in size and stability to accept the container. How was it insufficient in size if the driver had NO issue dropping it off? Obviously there was plenty of clearance. CUSTOMERS BEWARE, this company can cause any damage to your property, regardless of clearance, and will not accept any responsibility for their end of it. Theoretically, the driver could crash through the front of your house because he says your driveway is too short, and you would be liable. I escalated my dispute and asked to speak to management, but my call was never returned. This was a headache that was not needed during an already hectic time of trying to move across the country and this company did nothing to take ownership or alleviate the stress and inconvenience they caused. Do not use them. They don't care about their customers. If you use them, you accept full liability for both your property and your personal belongings. read more

We moved from Texas to Ohio. We had a great experience we received 12 moving blankets and a new lock (still in the package). They picked up, delivered on time as scheduled. You have your own moving coordinator she was so friendly. The drivers were experienced and they knew just how to place the units where you tell them. I would use them again. read more
