So, I called the Lisa Fabiano and scheduled an appointment for after work. She wasn't present for…read morethat meeting herself, but rather, an underling named "Mariyah" was there. Mariyah was the only person I talked to thereafter. I did not care for her. Every single house we saw, she tried to say "Open concept!" as if it were a selling point. I have never in my life said I wanted an "open concept." But she is making me doubt myself, wondering if I said it was nice once, to be polite. She very much wanted me to buy a more expensive house. Given the state of the market, she succeeded in getting me to spend more than I wanted to, just because it's a seller's market. The finance people she connected me with were fairly terrible. They were just always in a rush. They talked a mile a minute like cokeheads, and wouldn't explain basic things to laypeople who didn't understand what was going on. Over the phone, Shadia would rapid-fire shout a number at me. I found myself wondering, "Are you saying a thousand-something, but you're afraid to say the word 'thousand'? And is that per month or per year?" They demanded forms from me and wouldn't believe me that I didn't understand what they were talking about. Toward the end, Mariyah fought me on the radon mitigation device I wanted installed in the new house. I insisted on it, and she tried to leave it out of the counteroffer, as if I would forget. I finally got harsh with her and ordered her to put it in or we would take our business elsewhere. She whined. Said that the seller would reject this out of hand. Then, a day later, they accepted all terms, including the radon thing, without complaint. Like I knew they would. Rather than complimenting me for my business sense, or just admit that she was wrong, Mariyah pouted and hid thereafter. I never talked to her again. She sent someone else for the final walk through, she wasn't there for the closing, nothing. She pouted and hid like a child. Lisa Fabiano made an appearance at the closing, expecting me to be excited. I was not. I was paying more than I wanted to for a house that I only plan to keep for five years, and I lost whatever meager handholding I had been getting from a childish employee. No. Not excited.

I'M OFFERING A REWARD FOR INFO THAT WILL TELL ME WHO DID IT. Neighbors are checking cameras. Probably in retaliation for me telling people DO NOT WALK YOUR DOG THROUGH MY YARD. I'm trying very hard to move away from here. Was a good place to live when we had management and maintenance people who cared and actually did the job they were hired for. Park is owned by a GOST CORPORATION somewhere in Chicago and Florida.

You own your house, they own the property, which you lease. They get the tax write off, you get…read moreincreased rent every year. The increases are much higher than they told me when I inquired before moving here. There is also a "tax" by the Village, which they call a parking fee (You pay this, the park covers it and splits it up over the year by adding it to your rent). Not sure how they can call it a parking fee for manufactured homes, as they aren't mobile homes, no wheels... The State only allows it as a deduction if you make less than 24,000.00 a year, (last I knew, that was the amount) Which, if you only make that much, you couldn't afford to live here (Nice catch-22 there) You are responsible for the upkeep of your lawn and home. If you need anything done that the park covers, they can't promise how soon it could happen as they are given a budget, that doesn't seem high enough to cover the needs of the park overall each year. Yet, the rent increases every year without fail. On the bright side, depending on the size of the home, you probably have more room to live in for the rent amount paid (Though I haven't compared apartments to home ownership here in a while) Pros and Cons exist. It all depends on what you are willing to live with. They are using the higher rents to build new homes, so you can buy a freshly built home. (Which adds to the company's bottom line). So, still trying to figure out why they can't perform the repairs to the roads in the park and the requests by the people living here when needed. Most are a one time deal, which wouldn't require attention again for some time. As long as you understand these parks are no longer privately owned by families, they were bought by investor groups that are more concerned about their bottom line than their tenants happiness. You may see many reviews that really tear this pace a new one, They aren't wrong. But it's a matter of looking before you leap, If you know what you are getting into and are OK with it, then there is no reason to complain much (Always a reason to complain some ;) To walk in blindly and then complain when your eyes are open, doesn't do any good. I still think they need to take better care of the park in general. I once had my yearly inspection tell me there were too many weeds. I do work are keeping them at bay, they caught me between weeding in the Spring . But the ironic part is, they have so many weeds around the common areas that the park is supposed to take care of. They don't clear them up before they spread their seeds to the wind and hence the tenant's lawns. Go figure, eh? Well, I think I've made my point. They could be much better, but I've seen worse.
