I ordered my beer and was surprised to be handed a good beer in a plastic cup. I was actually a little upset to have paid $5 for it as well. I should note that you can pay a couple extra bucks and purchase a pint glass to drink from Anyway, truth be told if I brewed one beer a year that was a Bud Light clone, I would never put my product in plastic. I do think it changes the taste and really gives an image that you could care less about what you're serving. Lastly, I was really put off by the staff as well. The large walk-in cooler door was opened directly into my wife by a staff member coming out. He looked at my wife with an expression of "you shouldn't have been standing in front of the door" on his face. Ordinarily, I would have agreed with him. However, the cooler is directly in front of the bar where you order your beer. I watched two other people get hit with no apology. It may have been a fluke and just this one day so I do plan on giving it a second chance but there will need to be a lot of ground made up. Everyone in my group had a feeling as though we should be grateful to have been there to have a beer. Other than that, the building is awesome.

I think it would have been even better with a lighter hand. For drinks, I had one of their sour beers and my husband ordered an IPA. Both were good, but neither really stood out as anything particularly memorable. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was friendly and took good care of us. The layout of the brewery was a little unexpected. We walked into the main entrance, then the host brought us back outside and over to a separate building where the bar is located. It was a little confusing at first, but it ended up being a neat setup. The restaurant was clean, with a spacious dining room and a nice-looking patio. The only thing that kept this from being a higher rating was the value. It felt a little expensive for what we ordered, and while everything was solid, nothing really wowed us. Overall, I'm glad we stopped in, especially as a place to escape the heat for a while. If you're in the area and looking for a casual meal and a local beer, it's worth checking out...I just wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit again.

We ordered a beer flight, and I really enjoyed one of their sours, which was definitely a highlight for me. Unfortunately, the food was a different story. We ordered a few things and honestly weren't big fans of any of it. Even though the food wasn't really for us, we still enjoyed the atmosphere and the beer, so I'm giving Burnham Brewing . I'd definitely come back for the drinks and atmosphere, but I'd probably try something different food-wise next time!

It was the special for the day. It was $15 for the burger and fries. I ordered it without onions. It came with a lot of shredded lettuce and sauce between the bottom bun and the burger. I was not a fan of the amount of sauce that came with this burger. The burger itself did not have any flavor. It looked like there was some pepper in the meat, but I could not taste anything. The brioche bun disintegrated in my mouth after each bite. My experience with a bun like this is it was either frozen or it is stale. Not sure why the bun was bad since it was their special that day. I chose poorly with a burger. Every other time I went, I got the Yakisoba noodles with short rib ribs. The noodles with the short ribs are the best in town and probably the best in Northwest Indiana.

Fenwick Farms has a kids menu, which features things like cheeseburgers, buttered noodles, chicken strips and other kid-friendly foods. Speaking of kids: They have free arcade games to play! My kids played Pac-Man and NBA Jam while we waited for our food. The Fenwick Farms Brewing Co. beer is made right here at the brewery, and this is the first and only craft brewery in Rensselaer. The service and the staff were excellent. Our table had the smothered chicken, steak, and a Italian beef sandwich, all three were very tasty and well prepared. On our way out we met the owner, Mr. Miller super nice guy and we definitely will be back. I can't wait until the weather gets better so I can eat on their outdoor patio.
