Birthday girl in the middle ... happy 40th Jamie. Surprise party at 1056 Brewery
    Valarie W.

1056 accommodates all needs. Whether you just want a night out and a meal ,some great craft beers ,Saturday night some great music ,sit indoors or outdoors. If you're looking to have a small party large party, you can take it there or you can have them do a special email for it. There's a private room if you need it they have great food items on the menu, but they also do all kinds of specialty nights, such as prime, rib, dinners, soup flights, Italian nights. Check out their website, their hours and their calendar for events. Great place to go hang out.

Peanut loved it! Staff is personable and there's nothing more relaxing than letting your pup off leash while you kick back for unique pizza creations and brew!

Small in size but the welcome you get makes it seem so large.. what is nice they give you a heart shaped token for each beverage purchased these are worth 5 cents at that time you can drop them into 4 different boxes of your choice each one being a different charity. I can see them becoming an upcoming brewery

This place was awesome! We were camping nearby and wanted to try a local brewery... Mike and Erika greeted us and our dogs with open, welcoming arms. The pizza was really good and flavorful. I loved the burnt cheese edges. I tried the milkshake IPA which I thought was very tasty. Very neat place with large outdoor yard area. Interesting to have learned that the space used to be a lumber house, hence the unique atmosphere...As Mike is a retired state trooper, I found the concept behind the name to be highly appropriate: 10-56 is police code for intoxicated pedestrian. Would love to return someday.

    This is an "after" photo...

This pizza made me feel things. Let me elaborate: I had a plan to meet my Brother for flatbread pizza at this local brewery. This place was so good I forgot to take a "before" picture. Bottom line is, I had a couple of craft brews in the short time I waited for the "Pile it on Pepperoni" flatbread pizza. The freshly brewed beer was incredibly good (I don't remember the names...something about Prom, after that I was too happy to care), the atmosphere was simple and perfect. Even the pup mascot Benson was perfect. . Unfortunately adulthood time constraints took over and we had to ask to get our pizzas to go. 11 minutes later I delved into one of the best flatbread pizzas I've ever had. I had to pace myself because just wanted to eat like a maniac...and I wasn't even that hungry. I needed to calm down. If only in my head, I wasn't sharp. I was nodding because I was listening, but all I was thinking was how happy each bite made me. It's not that I didn't care...but this pizza, my god!! I'll put it to you this way, this pizza is so good that my Brother's beautiful wife walked in, took a fleeting glance at the menu and asked us to order a cheese flatbread to go. She hadn't even tried a bite before. She just looked around and sense the pure joy and wanted to be part of it. So, as each of us completely destroyed our pizzas, reminiscing on how great the beer was, how kind the owners are, I couldn't help but think "I wish I lived closer". I drove 68 miles for this pizza. I would have driven further. In fact, I will drive a stranger further and this is 2021, and you don't trust strangers. But I trust strangers I met at 10-56 today. I just need to know when do they leave. They are beautiful. They are perfect. And the pizza is even better than that. Thank you, 10-56 Brewing Company. You have made my heart happy, my friends happy...the only ones pissed was the dog, because there was nothing left, not even a scrap to share.

Approaching their 2-year anniversary, this brewery sells out all they can brew. They've already doubled the size of their fermentation tanks once. Hopefully they will do so again. Don't come on trivia night, you won't find a seat. Get the beer flight so you'll know what pint to get.

    Benson!

I ordered my beer and was surprised to be handed a good beer in a plastic cup. I was actually a little upset to have paid $5 for it as well. I should note that you can pay a couple extra bucks and purchase a pint glass to drink from Anyway, truth be told if I brewed one beer a year that was a Bud Light clone, I would never put my product in plastic. I do think it changes the taste and really gives an image that you could care less about what you're serving. Lastly, I was really put off by the staff as well. The large walk-in cooler door was opened directly into my wife by a staff member coming out. He looked at my wife with an expression of "you shouldn't have been standing in front of the door" on his face. Ordinarily, I would have agreed with him. However, the cooler is directly in front of the bar where you order your beer. I watched two other people get hit with no apology. It may have been a fluke and just this one day so I do plan on giving it a second chance but there will need to be a lot of ground made up. Everyone in my group had a feeling as though we should be grateful to have been there to have a beer. Other than that, the building is awesome.

Our group started with the pierogi appetizer, and it was definitely the highlight of the meal. They were perfectly fried with a crispy exterior and topped with sour cream, bacon, and onions. Super flavorful and hit the spot! For dinner, I ordered the Chicken & Bacon Jam Sandwich with sweet potato fries. While the chicken itself was tender, the bacon jam was much sweeter than I expected and ended up overpowering the sandwich. I was hoping for more of a savory flavor. The bottom bun also soaked up quite a bit of oil, making it pretty soggy and messy to eat. The sweet potato fries weren't quite my style either because they were heavily coated in sugar and tasted more sweet than savory. Unfortunately, neither is something I'd order again, even though both sounded great on the menu. We visited during a busy Saturday dinner rush, so our food took a while to arrive, but our server was friendly, attentive, and acknowledged the delay, which I always appreciate and understand! We sat outside on the patio, which was a fun place to spend the evening. The only thing I noticed was that there wasn't any music playing outdoors like there was inside, and I think that would have added a little more energy to the space. Overall, I don't want to knock this place too much because I genuinely think it's a great spot for Michigan City. Between the local beer selection, large menu, welcoming atmosphere, and outdoor seating, it's definitely worth a visit! I'd happily come back and try some different menu items next time!

We still polished it off. Was great with the beers. I ordered fish & chips. It came with coleslaw. I was excited to try it because the menu said it had dried cherries. Unfortunately it was small & didn't have any cherries. It came with 3 big pieces of fish breaded perfectly. Amazing French fries. Lots of them. Definitely glad I was sharing. The menu was big & I can't wait to try more food & beer.

I ordered the Smashburger because the server told me it was the best burger in town. It may have been the best burger in town because I have nothing to compare it to, but it was not good. It was the special for the day. It was $15 for the burger and fries. I ordered it without onions. It came with a lot of shredded lettuce and sauce between the bottom bun and the burger. I was not a fan of the amount of sauce that came with this burger. The burger itself did not have any flavor. It looked like there was some pepper in the meat, but I could not taste anything. The brioche bun disintegrated in my mouth after each bite. My experience with a bun like this is it was either frozen or it is stale. Not sure why the bun was bad since it was their special that day. I chose poorly with a burger. Every other time I went, I got the Yakisoba noodles with short rib ribs. The noodles with the short ribs are the best in town and probably the best in Northwest Indiana.

It came with three different sauces: beer-infused mustard, tangy barbecue and creamy horseradish. I could have just sat here and ate charred pork and drank beer and I would have been happy. We also got a Caesar salad, which was OK but would have been a bit better if it came dressed -- the dressing came on the side. The wedge salad was good but was less of a wedge and more of a regular salad. Fenwick Farms has a kids menu, which features things like cheeseburgers, buttered noodles, chicken strips and other kid-friendly foods. Each kids meal comes with a side and a dessert (ice cream sundae), although we didn't get our ice cream, but it was fine because my kids didn't need anymore sugar that day. Speaking of kids: They have free arcade games to play! My kids played Pac-Man and NBA Jam while we waited for our food. The Fenwick Farms Brewing Co. beer is made right here at the brewery, and this is the first and only craft brewery in Rensselaer. They have 30 different beers on tap (most their own, some guest beers), and they offer flights. Indiana knows how to do craft beer, and FFBC is another great example of great beer.

The brewpub is cozy and inviting and their beer is amazing, but this review is a testament to their outstanding customer service. We live just outside of Chicago, so it took me a little over an hour to get there. When I got there I was greeted by Jason who helped me put together an awesome box of beer, a t-shirt and a snifter. I had explained that my boyfriend had a snifter, but it broke while he was washing it. Jason grabbed another snifter, wrapped it in tissue and said "tell your boyfriend, Merry Christmas from all of us at Four Fathers". I thought that was really awesome! I get home later on and am going through the box when I noticed that a bottle I had bought at the last minute was inadvertently missing from the box. So the next day, I sent a message to Four Fathers on Facebook explaining what happened and got a quick response from Kim apologizing for the mix up. She said I could come in anytime and pick it up. Since we live over an hour away, popping back in wasn't an option for me. She messaged me and as luck would have it, they were going to be in my area looking at a truck and we could meet. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it, but she offered to have her husband bring it to me another day while I was at work. Again, my schedule conflicted with our meeting so I asked if he could just leave it in my mailbox. I sent her my address and later that day I had my missing bottle of beer! There's not many businesses out there that will go that extra mile for their customer. This was beyond an extra mile. Not only does Four Father's have a great product, but they have great people working for them as well.
