Elevators & Common Areas: The elevators constantly break and reek of an unidentifiable odor. The lobby smells like a college frat house most days--hardly the "premium living" experience they claim. False Promises & Extra Fees: After years of delays, they finally opened the gym--then had the audacity to charge residents extra for access, despite the sky-high rent. This is on top of absurd yearly rent increases for amenities and maintenance that never meet expectations. One Bright Spot: The maintenance guy is great--friendly, responsive, and always willing to help. Unfortunately, he's working against a management team that seems allergic to doing things properly. Bottom Line: For what they charge, you could find an actual luxury building in Manhattan that's clean, safe, and properly managed. This place is the definition of bait-and-switch--don't fall for the photos or the sales pitch.

The amenities are nice but you have to pay for each resident to use the gym facilities (no thanks I'd rather go to Equinox). The doormen are 50/50. Some are very helpful and nice but others give attitude even to your visiting guests. There are plenty of newer properties in the area- while the units themselves are nice, I would much rather live in a place with nicer management and "family"... especially when you call this your home. We're looking forward to our lease ending and some of our friends have already moved out (and are happier).

The building is still under going some construction but is mostly open and ready for rentals. The staff are amazing, such nice guys! They are always willing to help and friendly to chat with. The 40,000 sq/ft amenity space (shared with the condo building the Aldyn) just opened this week and I have to say I was beyond impressed. It is even nicer than the Equinox I belong to in Boston (which was also brand new). The space includes a full gym with pilates/yoga studios, spinning and fitness classes, swimming pool, full basketball court, two lane bowling alley, rock climbing wall - all for only $300/apartment plus and additional $100 for other adults in the apartment for the life of you living there! Pretty great deal! I was a bit annoyed that it took 4 months to get the amenities open, but I'm getting over that now! The location is really nice - steps away from the Riverside Parkway - beautiful! You can take the bike path all the way down to Chelsea Piers and the southern tip of Manhattan! Pier 1 and the Boat Basin aren't far either if you are looking for some fun and food by the Hudson! There is also a park/playground in front of the building which is great if you have kids or dogs. We are also only a couple of blocks away from Lincoln Center and Columbus Circle, Upper West side restaurants (between 72-85 on Columbus/Broadway/Amersterdam) and Hells Kitchen. I would recommend this apartment building in a heartbeat! I am loving my NYC life here.

I received a lease renewal of over 18%, which I found absolutely insane not only due to the length of my tenancy, but to the fact that this increase was not, in any way, justifiable by current market trends. However, thanks to the help of Samantha, she was able to present me with a much lower renewal that was more realistic. I was ecstatic because Samantha was able to keep me in my budget so I can continue living in my home where so many beautiful memories and accomplishments have been made. Since I've been here for so long, I've seen MANY managers come and go, and Samantha has by far been the most helpful, most genuine, and most caring. However, Lordis MUST be held accountable for her consistent malicious actions and disgusting commentary. I had to write this review anonymously due to Lordis's proven track record of making any resident's living experience so miserable to the point where they are forced to move out if that resident speaks up on her behavior, and I refuse to allow her to do the same to me and my family. As I was waiting for the elevator after leaving the office to discuss my renewal (the elevator is right next to the office, by the way), I overheard Lordis say "Sam! Did they renew?" Samantha responded "yeah, I got them a better renewal offer." Lordis then responded (and I remember word for word because I was in such disbelief), "those kind of people are always looking for discounts but want to walk around thinking they're royalty like they don't stink up the whole hallway!" (For reference, I am from India and my husband is from Pakistan). There was a brief moment of silence, assuming everyone else in the office was in the same disbelief, then she continued while laughing and said "it's true! Right, Patrick? Tell me when you walk past any of those Indian apartments it doesn't stink!? Nobody wants to smell that curry all day. We could've let them give notice, sorry Sam." I pulled my phone out to begin recording, but the statements ended there since it was clear that Samantha and Patrick was not entertaining her foolishness. This was extremely hurtful and heartbreaking because I was so excited to go upstairs and let my husband know that we can renew our lease for our home that we loved SO much. But, within just 10-15 seconds, that excitement was shattered. My husband and I have given our notice to move out. How could we possibly continue to live in a place where with such a disgusting, evil, and malicious manager? 9 years. We're letting go of our home for the past 9 years. It would've been a MUCH better staffing decision by Windsor if Samantha was hired as the main manager, but instead, they decided to hire a monster. Going through previous reviews, I see there is someone from Windsor that responds. So I would like to state, since this will clearly be seen by someone higher, that my husband and I do not wish to rectify, speak about, or meet with ANYONE regarding this review as we would like to enjoy our last two months living here without being exposed to Lordis malicious and retaliatory behavior. However, just a word of advice, get rid of that monster before she causes this property to lose more residents and before she runs your business through the mud. As a resident, we always only see Samantha and/or Patrick running around and doing all of the work anyway, so there is clearly not a need for her. To anyone looking to potentially live here, it's a great property in a beautiful neighborhood. Samantha is a wonderful resident manager and Patrick is a sweet kid. I have rented in the NYC area for 10 years and have never experienced a worse property management…read moreteam or company. Steer clear of Windsor Communities at any cost. Do not rent here if you have even one other option. The building management company at Windsor at Liberty house is unresponsive, impossible to reach, and deeply apathetic towards the people who live in the building. When there is an issue, they are not present, available, or helpful, regardless of the severity of the situation. For emergencies, they will route you to the maintenance team, the leasing office, or a call center. There is no direct email address or phone number to contact Windsor Communities or the management team for 100 Dudley Street. In the event you do make contact with them, they will not help, or assist you in addressing whatever issue may have arisen. The "management" provided by Windsor Communities is either (A) non-existent, or (B) actively harmful. A short list of issues we encountered in our 1 year tenure in this building: (1) the fire alarms are repeatedly faulty (usually going off late at night); (2) the parking garage in the south building does not reliably shut/lock, and is constantly breaking down, risking vehicle theft and damage; (3) several of the key elevators used by residents are regularly broken/out of use for maintenance; (4) there is no secure package system. Packages are routinely left outside the building, inside the front entrance, in the common area at the 100 Dudley entrance, or otherwise unsecured; (5) the management team has routinely completely disregarded communications regarding ordinary course payment disputes; (6) we were charged amenity fees for a gym that was largely unavailable; (7) we were also routine double-charged and erroneously charged for parking; and (8) even though we were only here for one year, we had multiple significant appliances break and need whole-sale replacing (fridge/freezer and dishwasher). To be clear: some of the apartments themselves are nice, and the building maintenance staff are fast and responsive for true maintenance issues. Even the leasing office personnel try to be helpful (though candidly, they are rarely ever physically present or available by phone). However, none of that even slightly compensates for the complete failures of Windsor Communities to properly manage this building and attend to the welfare of its residents. Do. Not. Rent. Here.

If I could give this building and company zero stars, I would. Be very careful with the security…read moredeposit after you move out from here. We've lived in the building for 3 years and everything was ok. We had to move out because of exorbitant rent increases (moved back to Manhattan, because apartments there were better priced). When we moved out, the company that manages the building (Veris Residential) sent us a check for less than half of the security deposit - making false claims that we had left holes in the walls, which we did not, and we have demonstrated that with photos. It was a ridiculous e-mail exchange that lasted for weeks - they were basically trying to put the refreshment painting of the apartment on us. In the end, the building, through the assistant community manager Michael Paladino, admitted that we shouldn't have been charged for the painting and promised to reimburse the amount. That was in mid-October, and we have not received the reimbursement check or any other communication from them until now (mid-December). They had initially told us that the company cuts checks twice per month and Michael Paladino would let us know when our reimbursement will be issued - there has been no communication from him since then. So we launched a complaint with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. This is all to say - be careful with this building and Veris Residential - they will nickle and dime you on the security deposit and go to great lengths to keep a few hundred dollars after you've paid hundreds of thousands in rent over years. They will make false claims to try to do that and will not honor their commitments even when made in writing.

I've been renting in the Aldyn for the last 4 months, and have had a solid experience so far…read more The leasing process (touring the building and applying for the apartment) was very smooth, and Dyanna (the leasing manager) was very communicative. We were approved shortly after submitting the application ($1000 deposit to take the apartment off the market, which is applied to your first month's rent, plus a $20 application fee per person). The building is really nice - my apartment is in a separate elevator bay than most of the apartments, so it's a quieter area of the building, which I appreciate. I haven't had many issues to report - the only major one being that the washer stopped working at one point, and it took a few weeks for them to get a replacement. Otherwise, I've been happy with the apartment - appliances, A/C, etc. have all been satisfactory. There are some minor design choices in the unit that don't make much sense to me - for instance, the bathroom sink basin is flat on the bottom, rather than sloped with the drain at the lowest point, so the water doesn't always want to fully drain, and the medicine cabinet has sliding panels arranged in such a way that it blocks part of the cabinet (so it's wasted space), plus the shelves are so close to each other that you can't fit so much as a pill bottle in it. But, these are pretty minor complaints in an otherwise nice apartment. Would definitely recommend leasing at the Aldyn, especially if you can get a good price/some new lease incentives!

Potential to be a great building, apart from the diluted management and poor construction quality…read more Plenty of good things here: great room layouts, some of the best on Riverside Blvd; incredible front of house and back of house staff, very friendly and helpful; comfortable courtyard, fun for kids - overall a great building for kids; and the gym of course. On to the not-so-good. Next to the gym there are some propped-open fire doors, which could be deadly in case of even a minor fire (due to smoke penetration). Contacted management about this, no action yet. Could be because the building is owned by five different entities and managed by two more - condo and rental units are owned and managed separately. The bathrooms and kitchens, designed by Roman & Williams, are wonderful, but they apparently broke the bank so much that costs were shaved during construction, resulting in some jaw-droppers. The wall studs are 24" on center, making expensive reinforcement for wall-hung anything (shelves, TVs) necessary. The ceilings are wavy. The bathroom ceilings crumble when you change a light bulb. The walls are cheaply skim-coated (not painted) and crumble easily. The duct work is arranged such that when anyone smokes tobacco or weed in their unit above or below you (and this happens A LOT) it will enter your apartment. Speaking of ducts, the in-unit dryers are ductless and work about as well as you'd expect. The in-wall A/C units malfunction easily, and repairs can run into the thousands of dollars. Some of these "features" are normal for new construction circa 2008, but here they add up quickly. Bottom line is, the Aldyn is nice for renters if you can get a good deal (I do not know whether it is better to rent from an owner on the condo side or to rent on the rental side), but if you want to buy here you should be prepared to spend some real money on renovations and repairs.

The engineers crew is amazing and always gives a meaningful response to maintenance requests. The peaceful atmosphere is exactly what I need to unwind. I also really appreciate the inner backyard with the grills and trees, and the highly supported amenities which are always kept clean. It's incredibly convenient for public transportation, and being so close to Liberty State Park and the older, historic streets of Jersey City makes it a great area to explore. Honestly, this is the best place I've lived in the four years since I relocated to the US.

From the initial viewings and leasing experience from Jacques, who promptly and patiently answered dozens of q's, to the great front desk staff - shoutout especially to Montes, who goes out of her way!, along with Angelica and Jonathan who are always friendly and helpful. The building is large yet impressively quiet (hallways are so quiet, I don't hear anything from the upstairs or adjacent units), apartments are bright, with decent appliances, very nice bldg amenities of the 2nd floor: outside common areas + pool and two gyms and common lounge area, free bike parking, etc. Building is kept very clean, any requests to the mgmt are handled promptly. Overall, building is a great neighborhood with more cool things constantly opening, and in a great location on the edge of downtown JC and the park. Both the nearby CitiBike station and LSP Lightrail station are a huge plus to get to the Path/Downtown JC (about 10 min on both), as is the awesome Liberty State Park, marina and science center nearby. Great place to live.
