DO NOT COME HERE!! Absolutely trash workers that value profiting over customer service and fairness. I We walked in at 8:33pm and asked a fellow worker for the price for the allotted room. The worker first searched our bags and gave us the option of choosing a mini-room and a small sized room at the cost of either $12.50 or $15.00 per hour. Since we usually come in the afternoon, we were unaware of the surplus charge or increase in price after the time of 9:00pm and none of the workers bothered to inform us until our check had increased to around $80.00 in price. One worker finally informed us of the price after TWO HOURS of us racking up the price. Unaware, especially since we were customers here for 6 years or more, we were taken aback. This was unbelievable and we immediately went to the front bar/counter area to confront the management. We explained to them that there was a miscommunication between their worker and ourselves. We explained the issue to them several times, but they kept informing us that they believed in their fellow coworker. Just because you discipline your worker to inform the guests doesn't mean that each of them will do their job properly! The manager wouldn't believe our words and kept blaming it on us and falsely accusing us of mishearing the worker's words. Cons: Customer service nonexistent, charges service fee/tip even though there was no service so speak off; room smells vaguely of cigarettes. I had the room booked for 3 hours and was told I could either use a $90 credit on their food or bring 3 outside food items w/o paying extra for bringing outside food. Out of all the karaoke places in New York City, this is one of the coolest (but also most expensive) ones that's I've ever been to. 100 Fun has a lot of karaoke curb appeal - the bar area and hallways to the rooms look like they belong on The Grid, they have a full menu full of asian delights, and the rooms are high-tech with interactive touch screens for song selection - but the fun stops there. The song selection on those neat little touch screens is incredibly limited, to say the least. They're pretty decently stocked on the Billboard topping songs for the moment - Katy Perry, yes - but almost everything else is unheard of and unpopular B sides. (Don't expect any of your favorite Beatles, Beach Boys, or Rolling Stones songs.) They're even pretty limited when it comes to popular Asian songs, which seems a little ridiculous seeing as they're situated smack dab in the middle of a huge asian neighborhood. I brought along a J-pop idol loving friend of mine and she was sorely disappointed in their selection of popular Japanese & Korean music, which is definitely saying something. The food, although promising in terms of bubble tea, Japanese appetizers, and other asian snacks, turned out to be so overpriced that my group decided to forego it entirely - $7 for a small bubble tea! - especially since a room for three people for one hour cost us a remarkably overpriced $62. Rooms of all different shapes, colors, sizes, ethnicity, religion, or whatever have you. What I mean by that is the rates differ on the sizes of the room greatly, sometimes the decor varies greatly as well. There's a nifty hello kitty room in case you are wondering (small size). They have a rather nice happy hour on room rates as well. I recommend you do this if you aren't the type to particularly "turn up" because it's so dirt cheap. The price is almost irrelevant. Heck there have even been several times where I seriously considered having a meeting in one of the rooms because it's so cheap. When it's not happy hour you are still presented with a fair pricing I'd say, the more people who are willing to chip in the better the pricing per person. They practice the concept of you get as much food/ drink credit as the room costs so that's a very big plus. I'd give this 5 stars if ALL I wanted to do was practice my singing (the sound system is alright). What's the things making this BIGGEST BEST place not perfect? Well it's not the cleanest, and you need to keep in mind that it's Asian karaoke. Drunk, loud, obnoxious people are bound to be stumbling around (and that's ok! Its part of the culture). After going to 100 Fun, I stand in my position of Flushing is the karaoke capital of New York. Though considered by most as the best place to KTV in Brooklyn, its quality is quite mediocre. 100 Fun features a different operating system in their touch screens, a much more laggier and harder to navigate one. Also the song database is years outdated in both English and even Chinese. The whole building and especially the private rooms reeks of cigarette smoke. The height of the screen in the small rooms can't be adjusted so you always have bend down when sitting to select songs. There are some pros in 100 Fun's KTV system that Flushing's systems lack. There is a shuffle button that mixes up the song's selected. So sing goodbye to 5 straight songs by the same person. Also 100 Fun is very cheap during its Happy Hours. The small room we booked on a Saturday afternoon was only $12.50/hour. Maybe to have fun in 100 Fun you need the bigger rooms or go during peak hours when the staff is not so lazy in service and ventilating the place. read more
