This place has the worst attitude ever. The waitress came to the room demanding more than 20% tip that we already put down. We had to politely educate her that the tip we paid was based on how much we were willing to pay, rather than how much she wants, not mentioning it's 20% already. Hereby, she rolled her eyes on us like we owe her a million dollars. We made a complaint to the manager about this. The manager politely "apologized" to us while he rolled his eyes out on the floor and informed us that he will "definitely do something about it" We are confident that he will do nothing about this. And it is 100% our fault that we didn't yelp the place before we came. This is definitely a place where you pay for bad experiences and constant eye rollings. The service here is still so-so especially at the evening time. I came here on 10/27 and left around 10 PM. It was raining that evening and I was told by the staff (female short blonde hair) to leave my umbrella in the buckle they had in the front. I didn't feel comfortable but the staff was ensure that no will take my umbrella. After two hours of karaoke and upon leaving my umbrella was missing (technically someone stole my favorite purple tote umbrella which is already discontinued and cannot be purchased again). I asked told them about the situation and how annoyed I was about it, The staffs gave no crap, surprisingly the bouncer working there that night understood my frustration and tried to offer me his umbrella for my lost. Even though I did not take and but I am very grateful that he at least tried, compared to all the staffs that did work there put out an attitude as if I was making a big deal of losing an umbrella. Obviously if they do not want to be liable for people's property then don't force the customer's to leave their umbrellas. I even asked before hand what if someone will take/steal my umbrella. Of course the staff that originally told me it is okay was no where insight after she saw me telling them my umbrella got stolen. I was offer by one of the male staff their customer's left over umbrella, like if it was any crappy umbrella I wouldn't waste my time but obviously it is an umbrella that has a meaning to me. I got no apology from any of the workers. So tip of the day: Don't listen to their staffs and keep your umbrella with you. Overall I would say 100 Fun is a convenient location for Karaoke in Brooklyn. I've been coming here for at least the last 8 years. Me and my friends love to release our stress, for celebrations or simply pass time. Their karaoke system is advances and it more updated now. It normally take a few months for new songs to be updated. Most of the rooms are nicely decorated, I like how some rooms have a special theme. They extended an extra section so there is plenty of rooms. The price is very reasonable and after 9 PM rates are more expensive (like any other KTV). Like most karaoke places you can use the room hours rate charge amount to order food in the menu. Don't expect too much from their services and ignore their staff's attitude. Most of the time they staffs are either rude and sometimes it gets very frustrating. Like most karaoke places be prepared to smell like cigarettes. I've been coming to this place Sophomore year of college so around 2010? I found out about the place because my friends knew workers here and always came here on the weekends. I've had nights here at the bar, tables, karaoke rooms (small, medium, large, VIPs good quality tv selections for songs/easy navigation) and overall had a decent experience here. It's definitely always crowded on Fridays and Saturdays so make sure to make a reservation ahead of time during the week. My last experience here however was horrendous. My friends & I were drinking by the tables & bar area and ended up having it on one tab. One of my acquaintances knew one of the bartenders handling our tab so I figured she would be somewhat trustworthy. I ended up grabbing the bill and cashing out the tab with a couple of my friends before I left and then the next day was told by my friends that the waitress had no recollection of the cash I gave her. Like wtf? You've got to be kidding. (This was around End of Winter-Spring 2016) I was pissed. I forwarded a message for them to check the CCTV cameras but some of my friends who stayed there had to end up paying the tab AGAIN on top of additional drinks they consumed. Needless to say after that experience I was done. Other than that for drinks they have a great selection of interesting shots like cookie monster or cocktail drinks like mind eraser (you can get a cup or pitcher). The bouncers here however are always very friendly, and remember the customers who come here often and always engaging. P.S. Came here for my friends birthday yesterday and when we were about to pay we were trying to figure out why it was so expensive. First of all I have been coming here for over ten years so I know that if you order up to the cost of the room price the food and drinks is free any thing else is additional. Somehow for six bottles they managed to mark our reciept up to $1300.. then when they adjusted it we realized they charged us for two bottles that we never ordered nor received... (they put 8 bottles on the reciept)good thing we were all sober, imagine we were all drunk we would have been paying an extra 400-500 for no reason. I reserved for a room a week earlier and at an early time, during an unbusy hour. This in turn allows the owners to pack us into one of the smaller rooms which reeked of cigarette smoke. The moment we walked into the room, I could already feel the cancer starting to seep in. If you don't speak Chinese, the people will be very hostile towards you. We happened to get one of the crappiest rooms, where the remote had to be aimed at exactly the right place at exactly the right angle, otherwise it wouldn't work. The music was simply too loud, and without a functioning remote to adjust it, we had to open the door to get attention. They told us we had to close the door, we requested they lower the volume since the remotes didn't work. Never have I been treated with such rudeness at a karaoke lounge. I didn't know how the food ordering worked exactly so I didn't bother. I reserved for 10 people and we got in a room where everyone sat next to each other and had no room to move, combine that with the big ass table in the middle of the room and a claustrophobic induced panic attack was just waiting to happen. I would recommend you find another karaoke place, perhaps one with a touch screen. Ending note - we paid for 3 hours, and we still had about 10 minutes left. They kept barging into the room every 3 minutes. Literally, when we were packing up our stuff and ready to walk out the door, they cut off the extra music and posted a sign onto our screen that said "Please be quite, the police and conducting a search." Aw man, so conflicted about this place. I've been coming here for maybe 10 years now? And in some ways it has definitely gotten better. The interior design and the rooms are way better looking. They're quite beautiful, actually. But I wouldn't recommend people come here on that alone. In fact, I'd probably only recommend this place if I came here with people so that I could explain everything. For starters, their touchscreen song system isn't super self-explanatory and if you wander off a certain screen, good luck finding it without anything in English. Some of their songs are also floating around the system, not categorized into any artist properly, so finding them is difficult. Moving on, you have to find the right time to go. If you go on a weekend night, you'll end up paying $50/hr to $100/hr. If you can grab a huge group of people, that might not be so bad. Otherwise, you'd have to go some evening before 9pm, or a Saturday afternoon, when the rooms are only $12.50/hr to $25/hr. Yes, food and drinks are included in the cost of the room. HOWEVER... they're so overpriced. Appetizers are like $12+ for small portions, drinks are even more expensive, and it seems like there are stipulations for everything. For example, some shots you can't order one at a time. Only in fours. Wtf is that? Additionally, like everyone says, they REEK OF CIGARETTE SMOKE. That smell just hits you in the face right as you walk in. You'll leave smelling like smoke for the rest of the night. Your clothes, hair, skin, everything, will absorb it for eternity. But, of course, they have "no smoking" signs so... I guess they don't really care enough to enforce that. But, on the other hand, they WILL enforce the "no outside drinks" policy. Because they pick and choose what matters. Health of their customers? Not important. Making money off of booze? SUPER important. God forbid you bring an outside bottle, they'll charge $200+ for that. But their own bottles are like $300 so.. why would you want to buy from them? Now, on to the service. At times, it's fine. Other times, their servers really don't speak English that well and you have to repeat yourself over and over again. Will they bring you the right food or beverage? Who knows. Let's see. But they DEFINITELY will hound you at the bar for a 20% or higher tip. For bringing a drink once or twice? Yeah, right. Now the sound quality is good, I'll give them that. But, unless you know exactly when to come, it becomes a really big hassle. If you don't mind going to karaoke 6pm on a Wednesday, when the service will be great since nobody is there and the rates will be low, it's great! If you're going on a Friday or Saturday night, when the place is absolutely packed and the rates are through the roof, you might be in for a surprise. (At no point will you be able to avoid the cigarette smell. I'm pretty sure it's the employees that sit there and smoke indoors while eating their lunch at the bar. I've seen it a few times. When we were paying, my friend took out coins because the bill came out to be 30 something dollars and something cents. One staff member came up to us and said they don't accept coins, which was a policy they did not have posted up anywhere. Then, when we gave in the amount rounded up (because they don't accept coins for it to be exact) another staff member said that their receipt does not account for the service fee. Nowhere is that policy listed nor did we use their service. Never did we click the service button in our rooms. We did not order/ask for anything nor did any staff members come into our room to help us. My friend had gone here numerous of times and never encountered this service fee problem. On the poster it said $10/hour during happy hour. There was no information about their "no coins policy" or their "service fee charge" even if we don't click on the service button. The song selection is very poor. There are a lot of songs, but the selection lacks a significant amount of popular songs (billboard 100s, Grammy Noms, etc.) within the past two years to a decade. The service was quick. However, my group of friends we profiled and mistreated. The server that collected the bill (different from our server of the night) treated ya as if we were not going to tip. She haggled us and made comments that insinuated that we won't be tipping, in an effort to ensure we tip. It was an uncomfortable experience and completely unreasonable. However, some people may fight for the songs they want to sing and in our experience, a lady kept hogging the songs. She sang really good, but seriously let other people sing too. I've been to this place countless times, the small, medium, large, extra large rooms, and the lounge area outside. I heard they have a bbq area but I never got a chance to BBQ here. It's great that they have many different size rooms for a party of any size. I really love the newly expanded space of 100fun, even the design is so much cooler and still colorful. I always have such a great time there. The staff takes your orders, gets you the orders, and clears out the big mess people always make from time to time. Which means more space to create more mess. Last night was another birthday and we brought in a cake, our servers were very helpful in taking out the cake from the fridge, getting plates, forks, napkins ready and lighting the candles. Selecting the Happy Birthday song before bringing the cake in. Oh they don't allow cake throwing. If you happen to be in one of the bigger rooms you can turn it into a dance floor. Select some good music on the playlist, turn on the the flashing lights (the switch should be on the walls with other switches) and you got a party going on. The food here is pretty good, we usually order fish balls, fried chicken wings, sandwiches, bubble tea (sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not), smoothies, etc. They have a great drink list and they make pretty darn good mix drinks. They probably have the best song selections in NYC. Songs are very up to date and surprisely even up to date English songs. This place is frequented by mainly Asians but from time to time I see a whole group of non-Asians, there's something for everyone here. Perfect place to gather a bunch of your friends. I am pretty amazed that I have not been here before, especially since it has been opened forever and it's a 10 minute walk from my house. I usually go to karaoke places in Manhattan but I came here last night for a friend's birthday. Walking in I get bombarded when the smell of cigarette smoke (when I left my hair reeked of it, which was not a pleasant experience). The vibe was pretty chill and bright, and the rooms def. seem pretty soundproof compared to the other karaoke places I have been too where I pretty much hear singing even in the hall ways. It is also WAYY BIGGER than any karaoke place I have been too so there were plenty of rooms ranging in all different sizes. The room that we were in was a tad bit too small for nine/ten people since it felt cramped but not sure if that was because all the other rooms were booked or not. Also a huge compliant is that the ROOM WAS WAY TOO HOT, and even though we did ask the workers to lower the temperature of the room, it was still HOT AF in there for the whole night which was not cool considering we were drinking as well and it was a cramped room. Song choices wise, they have a lot of old songs but not many new songs at least for the English songs. Most of the old songs are there and it wasn't that big of a deal since we all manage to find the songs we wanted to sing. Another thing that I thought was pretty cool was that they actually use the music videos of the songs, usually places only have the words and not that actual music video so that was pretty cool for me. Service wise was decent, there was a bell in the room where you can click it and someone will come to your room, and they usually arrived pretty quickly when we did that. The service was pretty much when we requested assistance that way. But I did go to the front bar asking for a pitcher of water for our room, but we never got it, so I suggest just using the bell to request for anything. read more

To be honest, 100 Fun could be worthy of five stars. My only gripe about the place is that it reeked of cigarette smoke. I'm sure smoking is common at places like these, but as a non-smoker, I would have really appreciated better-ventilated and/or completely segregated rooms. Other than that, 100 Fun was an excellent choice. We went in the late afternoon/early evening to capitalize on the happy hour places. If you don't mind singing earlier rather than later, I highly recommend doing so. It's SOO MUCH CHEAPER. After 9 PM, rates are at least 2-3 times more expensive--ridiculous! For our group of 6, we paid about $40 for two and a half hours of karaoke--a stellar deal if you ask me! You also likely won't need a reservation if you show up before 9. They have a vast song selection and the machines are easy to work. I've been to karaoke places that had no English which ended up costing us a lot in terms of time, but the consoles at 100 Fun Karaoke were super easy to use. There was also a separate console spaced strategically in the center of the room so that we didn't have to rely on the individual queuing up our songs to adjust the volume and/or toggle the vocals. Most impressive of all was the sheer number of languages available in their library. One star for how good the sound system was. First time coming here, so we sat at the bar and requested a drinks menu. The bartender did not have a friendly or welcoming disposition. She was very accommodating to the other patrons ( who were Asian) but acted like my friend and I were an inconvenience. Some of the other waitresses were friendlier so I asked them for assistance with the karaoke machine. Let's talk about the karaoke machine... The words are in a different language, so me speaking only English, had a hard time navigating the system. The bartender showed me how to use it once and then left. The service here is really terrible. I have been coming to this place pretty frequently since my high school days. It is relatively cheap and affordable during happy hours, and their song are relatively updated. However, I reserved a room for my birthday party about a week beforehand. When the day came, the workers there told me that there wasn't any reservation made. They had us wait out in the lobby for them to clean up the room. Not that long after, they ask for us to change the room because of construction purposes. I was not notified beforehand about the construction. I was quite annoyed but I went with it. Like an hour into the party, my friends bought drinks into the room without being fully aware about the policies of this place. Not long after, the workers barged in ,silenced the music, and said "no outside drinks allowed." They immediately charged and extra $200 on the bill and asked us to leave. They acted like they were doing us a favor because they were suppose to charge $200 PER BOTTLE. I understand that I had broken their store policy but it would've been fair to give a warning ahead of time. Maybe warn us right before we enter the room, so it is clear. During my short time there, I had seen other customers also bring in food from outside. After trying to reason with their staff, I just felt disappointed, disrespected and ripped off. Me and my friends are all enjoying our time up until that point. We ordered a whole bunch of food, thinking we will be staying there for a longer time. But after the incident, everyone in the room was angry, and annoyed, so we all packed our stuff and left. We stayed for a little over an hour and our final bill came out to be $400 (with the price of the food we ordered included). After this incident, I am shocked, angry, disappointed at the whole entire establishment. They are not there to lookout for their customers. Been to 100 Fun many times over many years and most of the time, its enjoyable and reasonably priced. Went back recently and even though the rooms and size has been updated it's now considerably more expensive. Mixers used to come with the bottles of liquor but now theres a charge for everything. On top of that when paying the bill and leaving 15% tip, the staff told me it wasn't enough and said I needed to pay a minimum of 21%. Another issue was the lack of AC in our room. We mentioned to the staff that the fan in our room did not work they said they would look into it and nothing happened all night, we weren't offered another room even though there were plenty available. We had to leave the door opened to get air circulation and that can be bothersome since there is music playing outside that is competing with the music from our room. I can see why the business here has gone down and customers are flocking to newer KTVs. LASTLY Tipping is customary and not a requirement. If you wanted a minimum, post it on the menu. read more

The only thing I complain about is ordering system. Staff is not so friendly except the security guy :) This place smells like ashtray but it's ok by me because I'm a smoker. Selection could be better because sometimes they don't have popular songs but they have plenty of Chinese music. Not a bonus. Prices there are decent though, it's pretty cheap compare to other karaoke places. Bottom line : nothing special but you can have fun! read more

This place was an out of this world good time for me. But first, I have to admit, I am an Asian-style karaoke virgin. This may have contributed to my experience, and not necessarily the place itself. Im surprised these sorts of places are not more popular. I cannot compare it to other places, but I was impressed that the service came within seconds of the call. The only one thing that I felt iffy about was the expense. Again, I have nothing to compare it to, so these prices may have been the going rate. They have 1000s of artists and even more songs. The private rooms were sound proof, we couldn't here the bad singing that was probably going on in the other rooms. Our room would have comfortably seated 8, altho I do not know if they have bigger or smaller rooms. I am glad I popped my cherry with this place, I will definitely be patronizing more of these types of entertainment venues. read more

I have came here a few times for birthdays and gatherings. It's a cool place with themed private rooms like hello kitty and angry birds. The more bigger private rooms have personal restrooms. They have a decent selection of beer and liquor. They were doing an anniversary special with buy 2 bottles get one free. They offer WiFi also. The service isn't always good maybe it's cause they have to deal with drunk customers all the time. There are smokers everywhere, in the hall, outside the restrooms but if your drunk I guess that all doesn't matter. They are usually nice about things and have numbers to cab service if needed. read more

I went here for a birthday celebration in the night went well up until the bill. We was a small party of three and we ordered shots. Which we had to go get from the bar ourselves. However everything went well until we received a bill and was told that we have to pick one of the tips started from 25% of the bill. With previous knowledge of going to several restaurants we ask if this was gratuity they said no that this is the recommended tips and we can pick any from the percentage is starting from 25 and up. We then ask if this is a policy and where is the policy. The manager and the coworkers were not able to produce a policy stating that it's mandatory to tip 25% or up and it wasn't written on any of the receipts. We still wanted to tip but we did not want to tip 25% of our bill which was about $65. One of the managers went upstairs to type up a policy and my friend confronted them and asked what are y'all doing with our bill we want to pay and leave. A young lady produced to get physically and try to remove my friend from the door way and push her out the way. At no time did we retaliate. The security guard was very nice and understanding. As a manager felt that it was in the employee right to remove my friend because she was standing in the doorway. At the end of the night when we left a police car was waiting for us outside. Even though we never touched anybody we didn't damage any property. We were not even escorted outside. So this shows that they wanted to get the blacks girls upset and mad so we can be arrested outside. BTW our waiter was tipped well and the lady who did he physical with my friend was not our waitress. The song selections were old, we had four rounds of shots and was not drunk at all. Honestly....after an amazing night with my friends, my night abruptly came to an end after visiting this establishment. First and foremost, as a VISTOR to New York and also as someone who works as a bartender part-time...I was truly disgusted, flabbergasted and stunned at the treatment and behavior from the staff at this establishment. Initially we were told that for an hour of karaoke it would be $130 and $100 worth of credit for food and drinks...as our hour came to an end, my party still had money left to spend for our credit, so we decided to head to the bar to spend the remaining amount of our money. We ordered "lemon drop" shots, I put soft quotations as the shot was NOT a lemon drop shot and was clear as day. There wasn't an ounce of lemon juice, lemons in it at all. After we received the shots and noticed the discrepancy, we didn't complain that the shots were made incorrectly, we simply asked for 3 BACKS aka A CHASER of sprite. The bartender told us that would be $21. As my confusion peaked, I asked why a chaser, along with a shot already paid for would be $21? Then...she proceeded to say $7. We then asked to speak to a manager - as I proceeded to address the manager, upon initial conversation, he was oddly staring at the ceiling..as if he was disinterested in me speaking to him. Super odd and also very dismissive. He then proceeded to talk to another person in my party and proceeded to say "your complaining about $130???" - what a way to treat your very little paying customers. Nobody was even in there, but at this point I guess I understand why. The security guard that they retrieved to throw us out, then proceeded to tell us how the owner is racist and basically hates black people lol. So much for judging a book by its cover, this establishment doesn't deserve to stay open another day. Overpriced and VERY lackluster. All this over a side of sprite lol - an establishment with management as such will never survive - my African American family, if you wanna spend your money else where and feel valued as a customer, STEAR CLEAR FROM THIS PLACE!!! read more
