A few years ago, I had some really great guava pastries here, so during my last trip to KW, I knew I had to stop by and get some more. I got a beef empanada and a guava pastry. The empanada was freshly made, it was hot, tasty and it had lots of beefy fillings. I would get that again..it was a winner. The guava pastry kind of let me down. It was not as buttery and as flaky as I remember. The dough's consistency was just average. I was disappointed with the quality of that pastry....but I know now that I can get similar quality pastries in FLL. Nice lady at the counter, she said they are planning to open the dining area the week of Dec 6th, 2021, so you have that option if you stop by. read more

Something like a three or low four. We've been working our way around the islands trying as many coffee spots as we can. Was something funny going on with the kids working there but whatever, kids. Anyway, Iced coffee was pretty good, just a little sweet for me and with waay too much ice for the price. Large could only have been a few ounces of coffee. Small, bocadillo sized sandwiches have a big sized price but were pretty good at least. Plenty of parking out back ...that's worth knowing. And some fun patio seating too. read more

3-ish. They are pretty good. I do think that they have an excellent café con leche and a tasty stewed chicken empanada. Also ordered a sandwich; it was quite petite. Their guava pastries look so delicious. I should have ordered one, maybe next time. Service was not too bad, just a little awkward. They seemed to have some sort of an issue with the credit card machine, but they fixed it. They have an additional parking lot, and a cute outdoor seating area full of plants and flowers. You can enjoy your coffee while relaxing in a hammock. I would definitely go back for their coffee. read more

This place was very cute and excellent food! We ordered the egg, onion, tomato and cheese breakfast sandwich, a guava pastry, cafe con leche and iced coffee. All was excellent! Beware for the iced coffee - it was priced at $5, which I thought was high for an iced coffee but I am 90% sure it was a cup of iced espresso. Prepare yourself! read more

What a hidden gem! Such a cute little spot, you wouldn't even know was there unless you knew to look for it. I'm telling you now, LOOK FOR IT!! Fresh squeezed orange juice was so fresh and delicious. Chorizo breakfast burrito hit the spot. The outside of the burrito was pan seared and a little crispy, just amazing. We are so glad we stumbled onto this place. Café con lèche was the best I had while in the keys. Perfect amount of sweet. If you get the chance, you must try 100 miles to Cuba. read more

Pretty good food. Not sure why the iced coffee costed $5, but it was good. Also not sure if the salsa was homemade, it tasted storebought and not fresh. Nothing to write home about. We both got the breakfast burritos, mine with bacon and his with chorizo. I live very close so I'll be back again, but if i could drive into Key West I'd just wait a little for something better. What a great unexpected stop on the way to Key West! This little family owned Cuban restaurant could not have been any better. The family staff are extremely welcoming and go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. Now as far as the food goes.. This was the best stop on our entire trip to Florida. Fantastic homemade Cuban food. On our visit we had some Tamales, Rice and Beans, Pollo Tacos, and a Cuban Mix sandwich. Everything was fantastic, and the Tamales were the star of the show! If you are on your way to Key West and are hungry I would hands down recommend stooping here before entering the Pricier town of Key West. I wish this place all the best! read more

Stopped by this little roadside gem on our way out of Key West. The huge menu made it hard to pick! Our kids got eggs, bacon and pancakes. All so good! My husband and I each had a different breakfast sandwich and hashbrowns. Perfection and so filling. To top off the visit, we ordered a colada, recommended by a local in line with us. I don't even drink any coffee and I fell in love with it. So glad we tried it. The woman running this place works her tail off, and you can taste it. Everything was awesome. I would be a regular, if I lived on Key West. Eat here!!! read more

I can't believe folks gave this place 5 stars. We stopped for breakfast, paid $9.99 for Cuban breakfast that consisted of cold bland potatoes, lukewarm rice with black beans and 2 fried eggs-only the eggs were edible. My sister got the same breakfast-she opted for the sausage-was heated and served-It was disgusting. My boyfriend got the Cuban sandwich, he only ate half-so I knew he didn't like his either. The people that work here are really nice-but the food was so awful I now have to go find something else to eat. Save your money and time and go somewhere else. read more

Went up to this place on the way back from Key West hoping for a good lunch; first problem was we were unable to use our card, next I was charged $5 for iced coffee in a maybe 12 oz cup that was still warm. To top it off, after looking at the menu for a few minutes I went to order, and was told all I could have was a sandwich or quesadilla, when their menu has many other things listed. Stopped at this little gem on the way from Key West back up north. Easily one of the best and most authentic Cuban meals we've had in south Florida! This tiny restaurant on Coppitt Key was our favorite! We both ordered sandwiches the first visit. I had a typical Cuban sandwich and my husband had an egg, cheese and bacon sandwich. Both were served on amazingly fresh Cuban bread. I liked the variety of juices available. I ordered Tamarind juice my first visit. It was made perfectly. Our second time visiting, we had breakfast. My husband had the same amazing sandwich as his first visit. I ordered the same sandwich as him, but with chorizo. It was delicious. I also ordered guava and cheese pastry that was out of this world. Delicious Cuban food and Cuban coffee 10 miles outside of Key West without the bustle of Key West! We had the Cubano sandwich, the tamale, cuban coffee and Colada coffee - all delicious and handmade. The house sauce is so good! It's a mom and daughter duo making all the food and running the restaurant. Eat here and support a local, women owned restaurant with great food!! Its just a hole in the wall, almost literally. But it was a great Mexican/cuban breakfast on the road. We both had the chorizo and egg plate. Came with what I assume is cuban home fries, with a slightly yellow coating that was yummy. And instead of tortillas, it came with a slim french bread that was also likely cuban. We sat outside on the side patio that they had to unlock for us to access - I didn't see any inside seating. Its more of a carry out kinda place (our food came in to-go containers). Nothing fancy, but good prices and good food. read more
