1000 North was a total disappointment. I eat at fine restaurants all over the world and will gladly pay for good food. Money is not an issue. However the quality of the food as compared to the prices was below mediocre. I had a crab bisque which had no flavor. I might as well have drank the cream directly from the cartoon. I shared a petit filet and while it was cooked medium rare, the meat had a leathery quality and was extremely chewy. The pine was fine but nothing special. My friends had short ribs risotto, salmon and sea bass. Again, very mediocre. And what's up with serving Pillsbury pop over rolls as the bread. For a place like this, I would expect freshly baked bread! The service was fine and the ambiance was a little chaotic. It was not fine dining but rather dining which was just ok. Very nice stop from the land or from the water. Not a beach bar, but a great restaurant, very well run, nice menu, and a great staff. Giant space to dock any size boat, and a crewman to help bring you in. The menu was well put together and everything we ordered was fresh tasting and well prepared. First off the restaurant looks amazing. Outdoor seating is gorgeous and has a great view of the marina. The reception crew was so/so but the bar and table service was excellent. I had the petite filet was cooked so well and was delicious. I thought the Brussels sprouts were over cooked however and tasted over fried. Drinks were phenomenal. Came in with a med sized group of about 15 and we were made to order off the price fixe menu and it was absolute garbage. Limited choices, tiny portions, including the smallest filet ever - but the bill wasn't so small!! Absolute joke for a high end restaurant such as this. So I came to eat dinner here with my family for the first time and I must say this must be the best food in Florida the steak that I had with so good! We made a reservation for dinner. We felt as a high-end restaurant we would have a wonderful experience, not only for service but also the quality of our food. They have an extensive wine list and a diverse menu. Even though we arrived a little early we were seated at our table and greeted promptly by our server Adam. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Moreover, he immediately acknowledged my gluten allergy. If we asked something he was unsure of, he didn't try to answer, he was prompt to get the answer from the appropriate person for us. As a starter we had the scallop crudo with a chili lime marinade accompanied by puffed rice, scallions and beautiful edible flowers. Next, we had charred broccolini with black garlic vinaigrette, marcona almonds and piquillo peppers. It was excellent, cooked just right. Then for our entrees, my fiancé had the BBQ #1 Ahi Tuna topped with cornmeal-crusted oysters with a green onion country butter. The tuna was perfectly pan seared. While we typically enjoy raw oysters, he was pleasantly surprised at the taste of these oysters! The outside was crispy, but the oyster inside was still soft, not overcooked or dry. The sauce was very flavorful, but not heavy. If you prefer to enjoy the taste of the Ahi Tuna more than the sauce, you may not appreciate this sauce as much, as it's rather bold. The ham was a nice addition to this entree. For my meal, I ordered off of the gluten-free menu, or "health conscious," as they say. They had a grilled salmon entree with tomato Provençal and olive oil. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the tomato's were firm and full of flavor. In addition, I had what was called cornbread pieces in my bowl. When I asked the servers assistant what it was (it wasn't listed on the menu I ordered from) he had to go ask someone. He came back and explained it was cornbread. Knowing most cornbread contains gluten, I promptly asked if it was gluten free? Because I had just ate a piece thinking it was one of the yellow tomatoes that was under my salmon. He quickly went back to the manager who abruptly came to our table to confirm it did contain gluten and proceeded to ask if I was feeling OK? He then immediately removed the plate and advised they would re-do my entire meal. Our server, Adam also came back profusely apologizing for the error and also asked how I was feeling. Luckily, I was not feeling anything odd, but was unsure how I'd continue to feel later that evening? Then, a different manager came to our table asking how I was doing? Again, still OK, but unsure how I'd feel later. They informed they'd like to provide a dessert on the house for their error, so I ordered the Chocolate ganache with marshmallows and candied sugar with a side of blackberries. The standard gluten version had cake, but it was removed on mine to be gluten-free. The ganache accompanied with blackberry was excellent. I did not care too much for the hazelnuts in the ganache, and I love hazelnut. In this dessert, less is more for nuts. Lastly, I tried the Dolce, which is an excellent rendition of an American Sauterne. It certainly did not disappoint. It was not as thick as a traditional Sauterne, but it certainly had the flavor consistency. Certainly give it a try if you enjoy dessert wines. Overall our service was great. However, given the attention and communication between staff members on a gluten allergy, we were severely disappointed. A serious situation as this, should've never occurred, especially in a fine dining establishment. They did, however, comp my meal and both desserts for myself and my fiancé (he had the key lime cheesecake which was decadent). I had high hopes for a special birthday dinner at what had been one of my favorite restaurants, but was met with the harsh reality and result of the current DC administration's inflationary "sticker shock" now working its way through every business in America. Since my last visit a couple of years ago while the waiters were still wearing masks so you couldn't hear what they were saying, very counterproductive for ordering your meal, by the way, the prices have skyrocketed (practically doubled) and the quality has taken a dive. We started with the street corn Caesar salad which was not remarkable in any way. Next came the tuna poke which I thought was good but my husband did not. The biggest disappointment was yet to come, the rack of lamb. It was not the lamb of yesteryear. It was a mere shadow of itself and what they had served only a couple of years before. Cooked just right, and tasted good, but very puny amount and very fatty, not at all what we had remembered and had been looking forward to. I asked the waitress if the item had been changed on the menu like maybe it was a different cut of meat from what they used to serve and she didn't think so. "It's from the same distributor." Not really the answer I was looking for. I recall 2 succulent, large lamb chops and this was not that. We were extremely disappointed. Especially for the price of $84! The only thing that salvaged the meal for me was the broccolini that came with it and the spinach we ordered on the side, also overpriced at $19, but delicious. There were 4 men sitting behind us and they were there on a business expense account and their meal with drinks came to over $1500. (I saw their receipt.) We didn't have any alcohol, split our order and escaped with a $207 bill including tax and 20% tip. It would have been double that if we had not shared our app, salad and entree. The waitress, Cynthia, was very nice and brought me a chocolate dessert with a candle and "Happy Birthday" written on the plate, which was done gratis so that was very nice of her, kudos to Cynthia for salvaging the evening. It's a pretty restaurant on the Intracoastal, but we probably won't be back. Seating is tight at the tables for two with one person having an open view of the restaurant and the other is a boring view of the wall for the banquette tables. My husband had that view and really didn't like it. Also very noisy atmosphere and chilly from the AC. I'm sure they will be fine, even with this review, as it's a "trendy" spot, but I think there are other better restaurants where you don't walk out feeling ripped off. It's obviously for people with expense accounts, or men trying to impress their new girlfriends, like the couple next to us on a date. read more

A random find while driving around thanks to the Yelp App. What a delightful restaurant on the water. The hostess ladies were kind and accommodating. We sat at the outside bar for a drink before our table was ready at 5, friendly staff and nice people ready to chat with you while we sat enjoying watching the bridge go up and down for the boats. Seated at our table we were immediately greeted with a very nice waiter (a young Mathew McConaughey), very knowledgeable and whitty. On to the best part, other than the Views. When i tell you the meal was AHHMAZING!!! It was! Started with the Tuna Tartare, one of the freshest and tastiest I've had, the truffle fries were crispy and delightful not oily, a 1/2 dz shared Fresh Oysters from the West Coast, could have had a dozen more, sooo good. The lobster Mac n Cheese was off the chain delicious! The Main Courses were Mouth Watering. The Special this night was Sea Bass, w/fingerling potatoes around its edges and layered with shrimp on top cooked in parchment paper, when it arrives they pour a lobster sauce over the Sea Bass! INCREDIBLE, delicious, and highly recommended. The Porter House Steak was cooked to perfection, one of the best we've had. The restaurant was very clean open concept with sexy wood work and an open Glass Wine Room to view. If you sit closer to the kitchen you can watch the Chefs hard at work perfecting our plates. We went for dinner a few weeks ago and four of us sat at the bar. It was pretty busy for a Friday night in the summer. For appetizers we shared the smoked oysters and tuna poke bowl both were very good. I wasn't super hungry so I ordered the seafood risotto for dinner. I felt it could've been a little creamier but was tasty. Bartender made a very good tequila mezcal drink for me and he was very attentive. Cured salmon Benedict (salmon was thick, raw and slimy-not in a good way) , Nashville chicken on waffle (painfully over spiced). Do not go if you want to talk at your table without shouting. I Love This Place! This was my second time here. We sat at the bar. The Baked Manhattan is unbelieveable...just sweet enough, caramel, whiskey goodness. I started with the Tuna Poke...perfect squares of raw tuna, a touch of chili, avocado, and macadamia bits for crunch. Hubby had the Thai Shrimp, thinly sliced huge shrimp over hearts of palm, blood orange and watermelon radish. My main course was the Maryland Blue Crab Cake, with pea succotash, and corn creme beurre blanc. Hubby had bone in rib eye, done meduim with a side of potato puree. Dessert? Yes, please! Lovely restaurant. We have been here twice now. First time for our anniversary, we were treated like royalty. Loved that! Made our night special. The food could not have been better. Everything was truly outstanding. The main dining room was a bit loud for our taste, but to be fair, it was packed and busy with lots of patrons. And we were seated by the kitchen - not the best spot for a meal, but it was entertaining to watch the chef and his staff at work. The second time, we brought friends and sat on the tavern side, which we liked a lot. Architecturally speaking, this place is exquisite! And the view at night is superb - looking out onto the water by the bridge. We were surprised to see quite a few patrons eating dinners around the bar as well as all tables filled in the tavern too. It seems the secret of 1000 North is secret no more! Janell, one of the lovely managers, came by to greet us on both visits and offered helpful info about the restaurant and made us feel so welcome. My family was in town and we came to 1000 North based on Yelp reviews and Instagram posts. I did not realize this was Michael Jordan's steakhouse until after I had booked! The waitress was extremely knowledgeable and very nice. She filled us in on the menu and made a ton of great recommendations. We decided as a group to order the Porterhouse and Bone-in Ribeye + a bunch of sides and split everything. The amount of food we ordered was perfect for our large party of 8. We were also surprised at the end when we received our check - we were expecting it to be a bit more (we also ordered cocktails and a bottle of wine) and it was very reasonably priced! We went to check out the happy hour menu on the patio. We had our little Maltese and were pleased to find out that they are very dog friendly. Shortly after we were seated, the server brought a water bowl for her and presented us with the happy hour specials. For a high end restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised at the affordability of the menu items as well. For $8-$10, there are many hand crafted unique dishes that were delicious and portion sizes were larger than expected for the price. Lots of specials on cocktails and wine too. The ambiance was great too. It was causal yet modern, and plenty of covered seating to help protect you from the sun. Service was on point. Staff was friendly and checked back often to ensure our dishes were all to our liking. We're looking forward to coming back again and sampling their dessert menu. This was such a fabulous place to go to! Whether or not you are alone or on a date, it is relaxing as well as upscale. We had a drink outside at the tiki bar while we waited for our table inside (It was much too hot to sit outside). We enjoyed the ambiance (and I enjoyed my Vodka Martini) and then we sat inside. Inside, we took our time ordering -some had the steak, while I had grilled fish (salmon) and we even did the prix fixe (49) which was worth it. I would definitely go there again when the weather is cooler and sit outside and have a drink by the fireplace! I did see families there so it is nice to know it is good for all. Absolutely PHENOMENAL restaurant! As many of you know Michael Jordon is a partial owner, so the expectations are set high and they did live up to it! Ive come to this restaurant multiple times since it has opened, and its always exceptional! (For those interested, they do offer exclusive memberships to those who qualify and those guest are granted access upstairs to a secluded dinning/lounge area). 1000 North is located right on the water, so you can enjoy great views while enjoying your meal. Most recently I came here to try out their summer "Prix Fixe" menu. Its a set menu which allows you to choose an appetizer, entree, and dessert all for 50$. I choose the "Street Corn Cobb Salad" which was stellar, not overly doused in dressing and is topped with a cornbread crumble. For my entree, I had the "Grilled Salmon" which was paired with sautéed kale & spinach (perfect balance). For dessert, I chose the seasonal cobbler which was "Peach". Everything was so delicious, and I would highly recommend to anyone! You definetely get your moneys worth, and the quality of food and service doesn't fall short of that! The service is always great! *Also all their noodles for their pasta dishes are made in house, super authentic! I knew upon entering that this place would be mind blowing. It gives off a mid-century vibe. For a minute there I felt like Don Draper's wife in Mad Men. Ok ok, enough about the ambience, which I could write a whole post about... The wait staff is super accommodating, stopping dead in their tracks if a customer entered their path. They show the upmost respect to the guests who are dining. We started with a few drinks. The Elderossa did not disappoint - champagne, aperol, blood orange and some other amazingness which I can't recall because the Parkerhouse-style rolls had me at hello! They were sweet and fluffy. You could actually see the layers of butter as you tear them apart. The interesting thing is they have truffles inside of them to balance out the sweetness. You are surprised by their smokiness which is a great offset to their decadence. The Caesar salad was THE BEST Caesar salad I've ever had with fresh roasted corn, tangy cotija cheese and creamy (but, not overdone) house-made dressing. I had the filet as a main course and the crust on it was something I'll dream/drool about. To top it off, I was offered a complimentary birthday dessert - yes, please! When I tell you the dessert was a grown-up version of a snickers bar, and 1,000 times tastier, you may not believe me, which is why you should go and try it for yourself. I couldn't even squeeze in dessert, but ended up scarfing down the whole thing. The edible gold shavings on top made the presentation Van Gogh worthy. 1,000 North has a membership plan which is $3,500 per year and includes special events like wine/food tastings and reserved seating which is on the second floor. With family ending an extended stay we went out for drinks and dinner. Our cocktail hour was at 1000 North. We were met by the hostess alongside the valet. She was very pleasant, confirmed we, and everyone else were required to wear masks while at the table. To and from anywhere else put the mask on. A quick temp check and in we went. Im guessing masks arent a hard and fast thing, or its a very fluid policy. It changed in 30 seconds and the woman behind us, no mask, sacheted in. We went to the outside bar and met another hostess. With our comment we are here for cocktails, she directed us to the hightops at the rail. Its Florida, its blazing out with the sun setting in the west. Sitting there would have been rather unpleasant. We paused, every single table, were reserved. Every one. The hostess, allowed us to sit on the fringe of the shade. Sweet. A quick check of the bar menu, a couple $8 beers, maybe it was 7. A 4 ounce glass of house pinot, $17, and a lovely cocktail. We didnt receive any table service, so we schleped our own drinks. As we chatted, another hostess came by and said we couldnt sit there. We moved our own stuff, three feet to the next table. We enjoyed this table and werent moved again. How nice. We finished up, walked past the first still not occupied table, and sauntered out the exit. Thankfully our dining plans were elsewhere. read more
