The impatient amongst you may not like the wait as they make everything from scratch and can be a little while if the place is busy. And chicken Caesar salad, ordered by another of the party, was (I think) satisfactory. Service was decent. I'd suggest, if possible, for the party of seven, the food comes out at the same time. It doesn't take much to figure out that a couple of staff can help each other. If they're busy, perhaps a member of management can assist... this would have made it better. Instead, we all waited until everyone got their food. I'm not 100% convinced that we will return, at least on a Sunday. It seems, based of previous visits, Sunday's is hit or miss. The ambiance, in my opinion, is consistent. We Like that it is family friendly.

We would upgrade the condiments, so that the ketchup is better, and that authentic maple syrup is used on our pancakes rather than golden syrup, which is thick and doesn't taste of much. We would also have preferred our meals a bit hotter, as we felt like we had to wolf it down before it got cold. But these are small niggles that can be easily fixed, and probably will be at some point if the professionalism of the staff is anything to go by. They're friendly, not over-familiar, not too pushy, and they seem to want to go out of their way to make sure you enjoy Cosy Club. The wine list is short, but will hopefully improve in time. As of writing, it's only been open a couple of weeks. I look forward to being able to buy Champagne by the glass!

Was it the time of day or the staff in general that makes this place come off like the management are focused elsewhere? The limited number of power sockets could be a good thing, but for mobile office folks there are more convenient places to settle in. Summary: C-grade, could do better.

Minor modifications keep things fresh, Tapas is now responsible for much of the food sales, where a few years ago it was bistro fare, and since the smoking ban, the back yard has been converted into a small enclosed garden. Lounge is the first in a long line of Lounges that have been replicated throughout the city, and more lately have gone national. New branches have recently opened in Reading and Plymouth. It is the only one of the Lounges that offers a private garden as well as outside seating along the pavement in front of the establishment.
