She understands my hair texture and has recommended products accordingly - which was a blessing this summer with the humidity. When I decided to venture into the world of coloring, she asked for photos in advanced to help conceptualize my idea. On the day of, we revisited them and spoke about specifics - the bayalage style, shades, thickness of pieces, etc. Despite knowing I'd walk out with a new look, I felt confident in Kylie's skills and abilities. FABULOUS HAIR SALON AND SPA!!! I recently just moved into the area from New York. I had a few experiences with the local salons that left me wanting and concerned that anyone knew what current hairstyles and colors were all about. I was getting very saddened that I would not find a quality salon that had the experience and current styles I was looking for. Luckily my sister-in-law suggested her hairdresser, Alicia B. at 1051 salon and spa out of Wilmington, North Carolina. My first visit with her was like heaven. She and her assistant were extraordinarily attentive and she totally got my vibe and what I was looking for. She is extremely talented and a lot of fun to talk to and I had a wonderful time. Such a good time in fact that I went back to the front desk to see if they had any openings for the spa and they fit me in for a facial. All in all, the day went great! Love my new hairstyle and love Alicia. Thank you 1051 salon and spa. You've given me a little taste of NYC which I was missing terribly. I look forward to my next cut! read more

I went to the salon and spa to buy a gift card and make an appointment. I wanted to do a spa day for a family member as a birthday present. I was told the manicurist wasn't taking any more customers, and they didn't anyone to doing massages on staff. How can this place be a spa if you can't have a spa experience???? I went here based on the great recommendations I read online, but upon arrival am told the only service they could, and would, provide would be a haircut and possibly a wax. The only good thing I have to say is the lady at the desk directed me to a staffed and supportive spa salon. Thank you for sending my business to them. read more

My aunt recommended this place to me, and I'm in love! I've never met nice hair experts for a reasonable price! I decided to cut about 6 or so inches off and add some layers, which Annette accomplished wonderfully! My hair feels so much healthier and it's a lot easier to manage now! I came back the next day to get some bayalage done by Brittney. She's was ecstatic that I had "Virgin hair", meaning I've never had any coloring done to it. I wanted a natural look, but something brighter since spring is here! She did an incredible job! There are lots of stylists who work in the salon, and they all seem extremely friendly and knowledgeable! I think every one of them asked me if I wanted something to drink! They serve coffee, coke products, and more- free of charge! It's a wonderful salon with wonderful people, and I WILL be back! Though it was more than I'm used to paying, I felt it was still reasonable for the level of expertise these women and man have! I'm extremely impressed with this salon read more

The great things about 1051 -- It's new, sparkling clean, upscale. Hairdressers rock, especially Alicia and her assistant, Allie. Alicia is a real find, though I hate to tell the world about her because it's already hard to get in to see her! She's as good as the best in San Francisco, where I used to live. The whole salon is sophisticated (elegant, everyone wears black, comfy but not overdone). Just had a nice pedicure with Kathryn (only downside is she doesn't take cards, only cash or check). read more

There are so many amazing things about this place and I haven't even gone to the spa...yet!! I had an appointment with Hope and being new to the area I was worried about my hair. Absolutely NOTHING to worry about here. Not only was she warm, welcoming and so down to earth, but she listened to what I wanted and she delivered!! I absolutely love her personality and loved that she also had awesome food and restaurants in the area to share with me. The products used at this salon were awesome and made my hair feel so fresh, clean and perfect. I already booked my next appointment and I can't wait to go back. What a treat! read more

I was visiting NC in Snead's Ferry and needing "my color" touched up. I use L'anza hair color so I searched for a local salon that used it. 1051 Salon was only about 45 minutes away!! And several stylists/colorists were L'anza educators. I called and they were very friendly and accommodating. Originally, I had a Friday afternoon appointment and was able to change to Wednesday which would better suit me. I was going to a Marine Corps Ball. Alyssa was Fantastic!! She listened to what I wanted and provided me with what I wanted and what my hair needed. Great atmosphere, and all around Great experience!! Will definitely return when in the area again. read more
