Service was pleasant and quick. Food was fresh, hot and quickly delivered. Had the theatre menu. Great taste and flavour. Family was very impressed. Highly recommended. Will go again

Not great. Genuinely underwhelmed. The service was painful, each time having to repeat to the differing waiting staff what you wanted. Food was decidedly average. The lobster Mac and Cheese wasn't even as tasty as a supermarket one, the steaks were meh. Puddings were nice enough, although the chocolate brownie was way too rich, but lovely and perfect texture! Pecan pie was good. I was freezing as sat bang in the middle so the draft from the stairwell was behind me, so had to put my coat on. £400 for 4 people of which 2 didn't have starters or drinking. Won't be going back.

Simply the best steak I have ever had. You must have the pepper corn sauce, spinach and truffle fries. If I ever go here again I will eat the same meal again. Pure bliss.

Sunday brunch here is fantastic. The pancakes, the avacado toast all delicious. Great location in Covent Garden. Reservations necessary. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommend.

Hmmm, foood, we all love a nice bit of greasy fatty food sometime Christopher's is an American-style restaurant that is popular with meat lovers due to its choice of grills. It has a buzzing atmosphere and is great fun for everyone if your by yourself ,with friends, or if you feel like a nice day / night out with the family!. Christopher's is a licensed bar and they also have outside catering and cater for vegetarians. Catering for private parties of up to 200 guests is available upon request. Is i always say you always need a lot of money if you plan to go out to eat or drink in the west end as it can get very pricey, but if your looking to fill your belly this is the one.

Came in for a night cap with my wife an hour before closing. We grabbed a seat and waited almost 5 minutes for the waitress to find us. Place only had 15 people across four tables present. Ordered martinis. Dirty and a vesper. When they finally came, one seemed a tad short. Finally flagged the waitress down to ask about how they make their martinis. She started to spout off what was in it. I simply asked the amount after telling me two different amounts, I finally told her I was all set. The fact she spoke minimal English as ironic given we are in England. At 11 pounds a drink, this place is a rip off. Won't ever be coming back.

We had an amazing dinner here before seeing the Lion King across the street at the Lyceum Theater. The three course theater menu was excellent, especially the sirloin streak! One of the best steaks I've ever eaten. And the Porn Star martini is excellent too!! Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough!

Absolutely fine. That pretty much sums up my experience here. Can't say anything more positive but really I can't say anything negative either. There was nothing wrong with the venue or the food, but I was left feeling pretty "meh" about the whole experience. On arrival our coats were taken & we checked in at reception. Straight away I thought of similarly set up places like Hawksmoor & had high hopes. Upstairs our table was in the back corner so not the best. Looking at the tables and the room I felt like I was in a parish hall being used for an event - no real atmosphere & the centre tables seemed randomly rotated to fit in. The food was nice, the coffee was terrible. My BF had steak & eggs which was literally a piece of steak with 2 eggs on top, centred on a massive empty plate. I had the mushrooms & then pancakes. All in all pretty underwhelming but not horrible by any means. The staff were pleasantly aloof. At £65 for brunch for two people I'd expect to walk away feeling stuffed & singing a places praises but not so in this case. There are plenty of other, more exciting options for brunch in London so I don't think I'll be back.

WOW, this place is delicious!…read more Our family stopped in London for the last part of our cruise. After touring St. Paul's Cathedral, we were pretty hungry. We found The Fat Bear via Yelp!, and decided to give it a try. There were so many things on the menu that looked really good, but I had been craving chicken and waffles. The waffles were crisp on the outside, and fluffy on the inside -- the chicken, cooked perfectly, too. The syrup they serve it with is incredible. I definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in London! Carson C. Visalia, California

I wanted something with at least one good veggie option, they wanted something with meat, and it had to be somewhere in-between Camden and Canary Wharf, not too pricey, and ideally close to the city because otherwise our Italian friend probably wouldn't make it. And lo and behold.... THE FAT BEAR!!! It was all we wanted and more! This place is sort of tucked away and up some stairs above a pub. It's really just a room and a half, which makes it super cozy and they have a pretty awesome looking bar. It's got warm lighting which makes the atmosphere really nice. Their cocktails were delightful and the service was excellent. I will make a very strange observation that someone working there had a very drunk friend who just sort of made herself at home. Then more joined and it turned into me watching this table of really really drunk people trying to order food. Two of them ended up just falling asleep. It was super strange. Anyway, me being distracted aside, I really loved the cocktail I ordered- Sloe Boat To China, and everyone else seemed happy with theirs. I was dying to try the pimiento cheese starter and the fried pickles. The cheese was particularly sharp and delicious. The pickles were good, but quite skinny (I mean come on, you're in an American restaurant I was expecting some serious pickles). The vegan gumbo was super spicy and delicious. I was impressed and enjoyed it. My husband dropped the ball and ordered the regular jambalaya (with sausage) rather than the seafood one which broke my heart a little bit, because I really wanted to try it. You know, I guess that means we'll just have to come back. Oh also another bonus, this place has brisket which is really hard to find. I can't say how it tastes but my friend said he defo approves (am I becoming more British with these words, or just more annoying?) Anyway, to finish it off I had the oreo cheesecake which the bomb. I love oreos. And it tasted like oreo. So all was right with the world. A wonderful place to come if you have people who want to try American food, or if you have out of town Americans who are too scared to try other food, or if you have hungry friends that want to try cajun food, or if you just want to try some really yummy food.

Came here for pre-theater anniversary dinner with my wife. The ambiance was somewhere between that of a trendy club and nice bar. There was a mad scientist vibe with the lights being industrial vibe and some metal decor. The music was thumpy and loud enough to remind you it was there. It made me feel a bit out-of-place as somebody well past my 20s, but also a bit cool or being there. You really come here for the drinks. We got the pipe dream, smokey old fashioned, honeypot picante, and one other I can't remember the name of, but which came in a flower pot. The pipe dream and smokey old fashioned were likely the best. Overall the drinks were more visually appealing than traditionally good and the visually appealing ones tended to have ingredients that weren't as top shelf and/or they were just too sweet. Not bad, but disappointing for what we'd hope. The food was the opposite. I had low expectations and the food wasn't amazing, but was better than average. We got the bao buns, crispy duck pancakes, panko halloumi, katsu curry, and hot honey pork tacos. They arranged for it all to come out in time for us to make our theater show, which was nice. The bao buns and pork tacos were probably the best. Neither blew me away, but both were solid. The katsu curry and halloumi were standard of what you might expect. The crispy duck pancakes was maybe as advertised, but it would have been nice to have some moistness or substance to the dug vs. it basically being crunchy salty bits of something. Overall, this wasn't a bad meal, but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for either. We may be back, but we'll probably try other things first.

My partner and I visited on New Years Eve. I'm not sure if this is always the case, but the music playing was primarily American rock - like The Eagles, Neil Young, etc. It's fine, but not very in line with the classic, upscale feel. The bartending staff was top notch. I had a martini and my partner had a house Manhattan, both were perfect. We shared the iceberg wedge to start, a personal favorite, and this one was spot on. Great bleu cheese dressing, still warm lardons, and crispy, fresh iceberg lettuce. For mains, I ordered the aged Irish ribeye and chose to have it "gorgonzola encrusted". This was the first misstep. First of all, the grass fed beef stands on its own, I would never choose to add a sauce, but this was encrusted, right? Not so much. Here's the definition of encrusted from the Oxford dictionary: "Covered or decorated with a HARD surface layer". What I received was a steak smothered in (a very lovely) gorgonzola SAUCE with some bacon and spring onions. Had I known it was a sauce, I would have skipped it, or at the very least had it served on the side. Slightly disappointing, but the steak was perfectly medium rare and delicious. My partner ordered the hake. It was served with a prawn and a very tasty tarragon pesto. She said the pesto was the star. The fish was delicate and also well prepared. We shared sauteed spinach and roasted mushrooms, both delicious. For dessert we shared the banana and toffee mousse. This was the second misstep. This was a tasty dessert, but it was definitely not mousse. It was a very small sliver of banana bread (?). It had strong banana flavor and was served with rum raisin ice cream which was nice. It was also thankfully a very small portion as we were stuffed. Overall, a very decadent and elegant meal to ring in the new year!

It's a mixed experience, and different to the US, but the bottom line is the food is still to die for. Sweet Chick don't do reservations. Which is fine - the US locations are tiny, you wait which creates a buzzy atmosphere for others, etc. The London version copies this. But when we visited for an early dinner Saturday, the venue was half empty. Hoping to eat quickly, we were told to sit at the bar, for "at most a half hour". We did this. During this time, achingly hipster bartenders slowly made cocktails from cheat sheets. The place is new, I get it, but the staff at the front end are there to bring you in. The hostess continually seated larger parties ahead of us, and at times just hung out while tables were available. This is super annoying - it's clearly part of the process, and designed to get you to spend. There was no flexibility to it, and the experience wasn't welcoming so much as just awkward. BUT - once we were seated, it became a totally different experience. Lovely, attentive service for a start. Help with choosing menu items if you want it, fast delivery that doesn't rush you, and the food...Goddamn the food. Carbs on carbs on carbs. Gooey mac and cheese with a hint of spice and crunchy crumb coating...delicious melt in the mouth biscuits (savoury scones to us) with a salt and herb crust and about a tub of butter in each... and all that before the main course. Chicken and waffles is the staple, and more than filling. Two chicken pieces, deep fried but not greasy, with a waffle. It isn't fancy, and doesn't need to be. It's just delicious and well made. Prices are reasonable - mains are in the £13-£24 range. Cocktails are nicely varied, made with cheap liquor which is a shame, but still pretty tasty. And maybe if they can iron out the intro experience to make it feel less like every other London restaurant and more like the NY joint, it would be a five star experience. Until then, put up with weird intro, it's worth it for the food. Just leave your belt at home.
