The service was pretty good but the staff was 45 mins late. Instead of the 2 people that they said are usually sent there was only 1 person. It's a 4 BR 2.5 Bath home so that was a lot for 1 person. Most rooms were cleaned well but they missed cleaning some area all together. like the master bath and powder toilet bowls and main bath bathtub. When we ended there was a question about the fee due to the number of rooms. When I asked why it was more than quoted the customer service person said "well there were more rooms than you said". So I asked "then why did you clean what was not on the list?". See they count a small foyer as a room and the laundry room as a room. And I didn't ask for them to be cleaned. They also said "an eat in kitchen is counted as 2 rooms and you only said a kitchen". So long story short ... the service quality was ok ... but the manager provided no customer service and it felt like an old-fashioned bait and switch. The cleaning staff didn't speak English so it made it very uncomfortable for both her and I that the manager kept saying ... we did more so you owe more. Very unprofessional. The service was horrible, and honestly a scam. They said deep cleaning and that is far from what was provided. They said ceiling fans, base boards doors were all included, yet none of that was done. They didn't have any paper towels so I left them use 2 of mine, and they took them when they left as well as my rags. The microwave didn't get done, I still have dust and finger prints on my tvs. I paid to have the inside of the stove done and that was the only thing done right , after I had to remind them 2 times to clean it. *DO NOT USE* I was charged $30 for a deep clean of the kitchen which does NOT include cleaning dishes. I had to pay an extra $20 to have dishes done. Maria the cleaning rep did not clean the dishes. She sprayed the dishes w Clorox cleaner, rinsed them off and left to dry. Later in the evening we noticed the dishes were dirty with the same food particles stuck on them. I requested to have the $20 refunded. The owner said she would have the $20 refunded. Three weeks later, I still have not been refunded. Not only are they deceptive, they are nasty. If you didn't want to wash dishes then don't charge me an extra $20 and Diana's dirty dishes for uses. This is beyond disgust Additional points: the floors are not mopped. A rag and squeegee are used to swish all over the floor. Folding of clothes is also not included in their clean up service. The same rag was used in the bathroom, living room and in bedroom furniture. After Maria left I had to still dust the living room furniture. I've contacted the owner and she's now blocked me on her phone and now refusing to refund the $20 as discussed. I will file a small claims against her and contact Dept of Consumer Affairs. read more

I was very dissatisfied with this company, not the girls that cleaned. The woman I booked with quoted me a price of $110 for my nine room house. When I said that's more than ten dollars a room, she told me that bathrooms and kitchens are more. $20 each.Ok, so I agree to $110. When the girls finished, after one hour ten minutes, she told me $130. She called the woman I booked with who insists that I told her eight rooms. I used this service once before and it was great! On Sunday, 5/14/17 I filled out the online form for service for this week for my mother's apartment. She's not able to get around that well and unable to keep up with cleaning. Since I live in Los Angeles I can't help her keep it up. I thought for sure that I would get a call back immediately Monday morning but most of the day went by and I had to call. I made an appt for Wednesday, 5/17/17 at 4:00. At 4:22 I called the office and I am told that there is a TWO HOUR window for the cleaners to show up. Which was surprising since the first girl back in September showed up right on time. The woman told me that they were just finishing up and would be there soon, they ran late because the person before me added extras after they got there. At 5:10 I called back and the woman was shocked that they weren't there yet. She put me on hold and said they would be there in about 20 minutes. A few minutes before 6:00 I called again and once more was told about the TWO HOUR window and that they hit some traffic. I told the woman if I knew about the TWO HOUR window I would have used another service. She over talked me and said it was in the email I received and that I was told when I booked it. NEITHER are true! Okay, I might have missed it in an email but I DEFINITELY WAS NOT told. I looked at the only email I received, the automated response with the quote and it was not there. If it's on the website somewhere and I missed I invite anyone to find it and I will admit I was wrong, but for now let's just say its not there. At almost 6:30 I called again and this time spoke with a man. He said that they had an accident. My first thought is that they were dead. Everyone has a cell phone so if they weren't in fact deceased one of them could have called at least the office and the office could have called me to let me know this. But thankfully they weren't. They finally showed up at 6:35. Since they were more than 2 1/2 hrs after my scheduled appt I was afraid I was going to get a rush job. Which was exactly what I got. Since everything is "a la carte" and not exactly the "10 Bucks a Room" as they advertise I added the refrigerator cleaning for $25. The girl comes to me and says they are not allowed to touch the food (which makes NO SENSE if you are paying extra to have the refrigerator cleaned) but since my mother has these plastic bins which she keeps the food in was it okay to move them out of the refrigerator so she could clean it. I've been told that I have this " What the f*** face" and I could feel myself doing it. Of course I told her. I'm paying an extra $25 so moving the food out to clean would be nice as as opposed to spraying cleaning fluid on all the food, yes. When they were done 54 minutes later she asked me to check everything out. The first thing I went to was the refrigerator. It looked okay. So I paid them and they left. Here's a tip: I didn't notice this until later, but I guess the FREEZER is NOT part of the refrigerator. There were some residual crumbs or something still in it. The first girl back in September was wonderful and I even remember seeing her cleaning the inside of the freezer. Otherwise, yes, it was much better than it was but not worth the aggravation of waiting 2 1/2 hrs (the cable company doesn't even make you wait that long anymore.) One last thing. Being the total BITCH that I am, I went out and looked at their van, there was not one scratch or dent. They NEVER sent a confirmation email telling me there is a two hour window for when they arrive. I actually had to call the next day to see if I was confirmed and they DID NOT tell me at that time about the two hour window either. I posted pictures as an update but 10 Bucks a Room must have contacted YELP and complained so my pictures of the terrible job was removed from the site along with all the responses from the owner and one special response from him that I kept HARPING on the bad services they gave me. Nice! He also got me confused with ANOTHER UNSATISFIED customer in the responses that I came into the office and bought a gift certificate for my mother. When I told him that I was NEVER in their office he practically called me a liar. But YELP took all that down. I thought YELP would have at least contacted me for my side before removing the update I posted and its responses. But no one showed up on 08/29. I called multiple times and left voice messages but no one responded. They wasted my whole day. I don't know if all these 4 start reviews are real or not. I yelp it and did found a few cleaning services around my area. 10 Bucks a Room was the first to response and return my call, they were friendly and very clear explaining the price on the phone before I book the service. deep cleaning for bathroom and kitchen is $30, and regular clean is $20, just room is $10. Which is fine with me as long as they explain to me beforehand. I am impressed by how efficient they were, two girls arrived my home 30 minutes early. I like the fact that there weren't so much of chick chat, they just went straight to work and focused. I am maticulous about cleaning and one of my pet peeve is I can't stand seeing even a string of hair. They were not only quick, focused yet my bathroom after a deep cleaning service, it was 95% spotless. (5% I will leave it for improvement.) lol I will definitely make another appointment in the future and I highly recommend them to the fellow yelpers. read more

I paid the money that I "owed"but something did not seem right to me I felt I was being overcharged. Disgusting!! Terrible and rude service! DO NOT HIRE!! When the lady couldn't find my building, she didn't want to clean anymore. She didn't even ask for directions before she wanted to cancel our appointment. Once she finally found the building, she was scared to park the van because the parking spaces were too small. Even though huge FEDEX vans could park, she felt "scared" and "uncomfortable" to park. She proceeded to yell and drive off, even though I talked to the manager of the building, who said they'll let her park in special large parking with a pass. Its an OK type of service. I was really annoyed with what they sold me in the name of deep cleaning service. For the cleaner that arrived deep cleaning meant spraying clorox bleach. She did not put any additional effort and forget about hard stains they will raise hand and say it cannot go. May be I had a bad experience but I paid extra for deep cleaning bathroom and kitchen, stove and fridge it should not mean that you charge for deep clean and perform regular cleaning . I think deep cleaning means spraying clorox + wiping and normal cleaning means just wiping for them. read more

UPDATE: 9 months ago I wrote a great review on Google and now I'm sorely disappointed and feeling extremely violated..... I unfortunately had to terminate services last month, May, due to suspected theft. I recently realized that several items went missing from my home that had been in the same places for years and by the way, were in places which only I would know that they were there or a person needing to clean the areas. I have had services from the same person at this company the entire time, except for once and the two of the items went missing during the COVID-19 shelter period; so no one has been in my home except for cleaning lady. So I write this review because I want you all to be aware that you can't be too trusting of the people that work for these services. I've never had anyone steal from my home; honestly ever. Awful cleaning service. My 2600 square foot house was cleaned in 2 hrs. Top of my beds not dusted, bathroom walls still dirty and sinks dirty. The lady said she swept and mopped the floors. I'm a doctor. I work nights, so I sleep during the day. But my apartment was messy and needed to be cleaned. Perfect! I thought. I booked an appointment for 10 am. I rushed home from the hospital so that nobody would have to wait. I got home at 9:50 am. At 12:30 pm, no trace of anybody has shown up or called. I called the company, and the lady on the phone was rude and unprofessional. We are in a college town renting our house and our landlord clearly never got a deep clean of the house before renting it to us. The cleaning job that they did makes the rooms look like new! If I could give it zero stars I would. Terrible customer service. I confirmed my appointment 3 times for 3:30pm. I confirmed it twice in an email and once in a text message. This is the 4th time I've used the E Brunswick office of 10$aRoom. The first experience was pretty good. A single Russian woman came in and did a GREAT job of cleaning 2 baths, Kitchen and L/R D/R. She cleaned baseboards, nooks, crannies...wonderful job. After that other pairs or single personnel came and simply do not actually clean very well. Dirt, dust, small debris left on tables, mantle,, piano. They do not move dining room chairs to reach dust balls, or other debris. Any items on countertops are not touched. Only cleaned AROUND. What they are good for is cleaning WITH. Meaning, I MOVED all chairs, furniture, and cleaned any debris AFTER they finished their run through. It's more like hiring someone to help YOU clean. I removed all items from countertops, so they'd clean them. When they say they are finished, thats when I inspect ,and see what wasn't done. Then I CLEAN IT. They're simply not thorough.......at all. Dried Toothpaste left on the shower shelves, urine stains left on white toilet hinges, chrome kitchen garbage can left completely untouched with. 1 spray with windex and wipe....is that too much to expect? I have requested the original Russian woman every time Ive called but they likely either don't employ her anymore, or they simply don't care what I ask for. So, if you need a thorough PROFESSIONAL cleaning for your home, where they take the nick nacks OFF the shelves and dust the entire shelf, dust the nicknacks and put them back.....this ain't the place. read more

What happened?! This company's service has gone way down, theyre either a grand opening bait and switch outfit or a company that values new business and neglects repeat customers. When we first started using 10 bucks a year or so ago they were great, sent two people, cleaned our 2br spotless in a little over an hour, and with deep cleaning you literally could eat off the floor. Not anymore, maybe business has picked up but the last few trips they sent only one person and it has gotten progressively worse each time. Todays cleaner took 2-1/2 hours and after really inspecting after she left it was a very substandard $4 worth per room job. She barely moved any items to clean and wipe under, surface after surface was left dirty, dusty and touched, and we literally gave them extra money for a 3 rooms to be deep cleaned that didnt happen. Disappointed with quality of work. Bathroom floor was not cleaned, dust still on bathroom tiles, toothbrush holder and soap dishes not cleaned. Rug in living room had several dark spots that no one spot cleaned. Dust on ceiling spider webs still there! Had four rooms to clean, were done in one hour and twenty minutes. A business rep immediately called me to remedy the situation. She clarified that toothbrush holders and soap dishes were not part of the job. Spots on rug would be extra. They will be returning at a later date to redo bathroom. Next time I will get in writing what they will and will not do. I really wanted to be impressed by this service, especially after reading the other good reviews on here. Unfortunately, my experience with 10 bucks a room was nothing short of utter disappointment. I have a 4 room, 700 sq. ft. apartment and when my boyfriend and I moved in a month ago it was apparent the landlord had not cleaned the place thoroughly. So, we opted to pay the extra $40 for a "deep cleaning." When scheduling the appointment I specifically asked about the inner sills of the windows and the blinds. I was told these things would be washed. Fast forward a few days and 3 young women show up at my apartment. I showed them around, offered something to drink, and then left to get out of their way. They called me 45 minutes later and said they were nearing completion so I headed back home. I thought this was quite quick, but figured there is 3 of them and my apartment is not that big. When I got back five minutes later, the girl who appeared to be the leader of the group was the only one left waiting impatiently at my front door, all bundled up and ready to get out of there. She asked me to look around the apartment. First, I noticed there were still chunks of food in my dish drain. She emptied that into the trash and swore she did clean the sink, although it didn't look like she had done much "deep cleaning." The kitchen table looked clean and she seemed in a rush, so I moved on to the bathroom. Here, the toilet was still dusty and the window in the shower had not been windexed. She quickly cleaned the window with a paper towel, and then wiped down my toilet with a rag that was already black with dust and grime. Needless to say this is when I started to get frustrated. Next, I noticed all of the windows were still dirty and she said this would be an extra fee to have the inner sills cleaned, only the outer sills are included. Now that is just poor customer service and laziness. I have a 4 room apartment! It took me less than 10 minutes to clean all the sills after she left, but the principle of keeping a new customer happy was obviously lost on her. I also noticed the blinds were still very dusty. She swore she had cleaned them, but when I ran my finger across one blind and it came up black she agreed to re-clean them. So she runs around frantically for 5 minutes, again with her already black and disgusting rag, and wipes down my blinds. Seriously, I could have paid my neighbors 13 year old son to do a better job. Then, she seriously opens my front door and throws this disgusting rag down onto my brand new welcome mat. Now, I understand this is where people wipe their feet, but the way she threw it down onto my mat was just plain rude. At that point I gave her the $100 for the service and asked her to leave. After they left, I spent about an hour cleaning my apartment. The kitchen counters had not been cleaned, and the paper towel from cleaning a 2x2 foot square of counter top came up brown, oily, and dusty. In the bathroom, I had to rewash the outside of the toilet, the sink fixture, and dust down my radiator and door frame. I also had to get a step stool and clean the glass shaded light fixture in my bathroom which was still dusty and grimy, and had clearly gone completely untouched by the cleaning crew. In my bedroom, I had to dust down my furniture. They did get most of it, but you could tell they were in a careless rush as corners and backs of dressers had been missed. Also, they didn't even move my jewelry box or lamp to wipe underneath. I also had to windex half of a mirrored closet door because, again in what appeared to be a rush, they missed the top 8 inches of the mirror and you could clearly see the streak between the cleaned and uncleaned section. I picked dust bunnies up off the wood floors all around the apartment. My kitchen and bathroom floor mats had not been vacuumed or even shaken out. I also cleaned my inner window frames and actually washed the blinds as a civilized person would. Needless to say, I have written a letter to customer service asking the $40 extra dollar I paid for "deep cleaning" be returned. Save yourself the frustration, especially if you have a house or apartment with small rooms, and call a reputable cleaning service, not one that prides themselves on being cheap, who will charge you a fair price and actually do a commendable job. read more
