We needed a deep clean-plus prior to the arrival of our premie from the hospital, and being five days post emergency C-section six weeks early, THAT was a to-do item we officially let ourselves off the hook for and booked Total Home Cleaning instead. A team of 3/4 was here - a 2bd/2ba single-floor condo - for a total of 4 hours (10-2) and covered EVERY corner possible while my partner and I continued recovering in the bedroom and living room once they were finished in those areas. I allowed my husband to convince me to try this service, despite the issues I had with the scheduling department. (The scheduling department is completely separate, and out of state, so we thought maybe the service itself would be okay). Cleaning one: they forgot to clean my finished basement (which is the entire length of the house, and a large proportion of the square footage that they're charging me for), BUT they charged me as if they had cleaned it. I called and complained, and there was no offer of a re-clean or refund, just an assurance that the girls "would be reminded to do it next time. Cleaning two: they forgot to clean the basement (again) and they put something on my travertine marble countertop which left a HUGE white stain. I called to complain and was told that the girls would come back that morning before 11am to do the basement and they would bring a special polisher to remove the stain from the counter (which is less than three years old, btw). They didn't show up to do either job. Three days later, three different girls came to clean the basement and claimed no knowledge of the damaged counter and indicated they didn't have a polisher. Then one of them said someone was coming later. I called the office and was told that someone would call me "later". Ugh. So now I have had two bad experiences (three if you count the trouble with the scheduling department) plus a ruined countertop. I'll be stopping payment on my check and sending them a bill for the countertop. Oh yes, and I'll also be firing them! Hopefully this review will help others avoid a similar fate. UPDATE: I have just received notice from my bank that after I canceled my check, Total Home Cleaning fraudulently charged my credit card! I have disputed the transaction and have filed a police report. AVOID THIS SERVICE AND THEIR ILLEGAL BILLING PRACTICES!! read more

(I had started with a phone call which had been promptly returned, but found myself in their neighborhood and decided to stop in since I had so many questions about timing and coordination.) I was very happy with the plan we worked out and on the appointed day the crew of three arrived exactly when I expected them and got right to it. They were so pleasant and hard-working! They confirmed the three areas to be cleaned (condo, storage room, and garage) and when they were finished, that place looked new! To be honest, was reluctant to get a home cleaning service since I try to clean 1-2X week myself because of my girls however after the first time they cleaned our house, I was amazed at how thorough they were -- dusting light fixtures, cleaning windows (inside and OUT) and they even wiped down our molding when requested. It wouldve probably taken me an entire day to do the job their team did so well worth it! Do think it makes a difference though on the team that comes to clean -- there are definitely some teams that do better jobs than others -- we usually request Team 6 as they are awesome. This is my most trusted cleaning service. Mom has cancer and they have cleaned her home for free! This has provided my mom and dad time to focus on the most important thing which is her recovery. We try to stay positive. I have tried leaving payments with the owner but she explained this is part of what they do. Extraordinary person to meet by the way. One of the worst services and customer support I have ever experienced in ALL services I have received in many years. I almost never wrote any on-line review but was compelled to write this one to warn others. I view myself as one very laid back person that have above average tolerance level for any service. But this one really got on my nerve. We moved in a new house 2 months ago and asked for a post construction service. The service was EXTREMELY poorly done. As a matter of fact, there was more like NO service. I dropped in at one time and saw all FOUR cleaning lady clustering in a small bath room using hand cloth as the only cleaning tool to clean the glasses shower door which was just installed new and was actually very clean. We called the company and the owner many times in the next 2 months and they had zero real interest to help out customers and just played phone games and used excuses at 1st grader's level. We ended up clean the whole house and the funny thing is we did not find a single place that remotely seemed they did a reasonable job, yes, that includes the glass shower door Do not waste your money with this service, and if you use it, do not waste time calling them.... read more

I have been using Total home Cleaning for almost 3 years and I have to say that they are fantastic. Over the last 3 years my home has never looked better. Now, I am not saying that my home is extremely messy. However, you must keep in mind that I have 4 boys that really know how to take over a room. The most difficult area for us to maintain is the bathrooms. And the girls at Total home come in and do a great and very thorough job. The only reason they get 4 stars instead of 5 is because I do find it to be a bit pricey. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING They cleaned my house from top to bottom and they didn't leave any sort of dust any where (my hubby was a military man and still thinks he is one, so he went around with his white glove). Everything was right where I left it, no marks on the floor, they really respected my home, which is more than I can say for my son :-) . THC cleaned a new home I just bought and I paid $500 for a 4000sqft cleaning. All the big things were clean - floor, counters, large window sills, but as I moved in a saw how much was totally left untouched. I had significant dust piled from previous renovations on all areas of the house that were out in the open to include he master bath mirrors! When I called I offers to use heir recurring service if they offered a discount on the first one to "right the wrongs" of the sub-pat cleaning. I received the run around with pricing and how often the cleaning should happen and I just let it go. I should have used someone else for $500. read more

I hired Total Home Cleaning to do a deep cleaning of my house before I moved in. They did a great job of scrubbing down the large, very dirty house. They were even able to remove several stains from the wood floors. The business owner, Ines, is very organized. She is easy to get ahold of, and very responsive. If something is not right, she makes sure it gets fixed. I liked this company so much that I hired them to do weekly cleanings. The cleaning teams are friendly and trustworthy. Alex, the office manager, is very responsive and communicative. He always calls a day before the cleaning crew comes to let me know what time they will arrive. I appreciate being able to contact the office (usually via email) with special requests. I tried Total Home Cleaning from a coupon I purchased from Living Social.com. The coupon was for a 4 hour home clean and cost $75 which was supposedly 50% off of their normal cost. When I scheduled service I explained I have a 4 bedroom home with 3.5 baths. The person scheduling said I would need a few additional "man hours". I was never told that there would be 3 people added at 4 "man hours" each, at an additional cost of almost $200. WELL... all I know is that when my weekly housekeeper comes, it takes her (only 1 person) about 6 "man hours" to clean my house from top to bottom. Why I needed a team like this is unknown to me. The man who did the bathrooms took almost TWO hours to simply clean my master bath. Keep in mind my home is cleaned every week by someone and I keep up in between. So it is not like he was scrubbing mildew and mold that was there for decades. The services states they do a hands / knees floor clean for kitchen and bath areas. This was not done. It was a standard mop clean, just like everyone else does. In fact when the man swept out my bathroom, he flung all the particles into the air into my dressing room so there was dust and hair flying around which landed on all of the shoes, clothes etc. This was never taken care of. So after they left, I got out the vacuum and cleaned my dressing room. My house did not smell clean and it was certainly not worth spending $275 to have it done. OMG, it just hit me that i spent $275 for this!!! I'm not even sure they are bonded. They drove up in an old car, not one that was company provided which I had assumed would happen. The vacuum used was ancient and did not do a thorough job on the area rugs in my home. I tried calling the owner to express my displeasure but he is apparently too busy to return my call. This is the first time I have ever written a review on YELP but I truly feel it is important to provide this input. NEVER NEVER NEVER use this service. read more
