And unfortunately took a year plus away from living a normal life. My partner and I were exposed to mold that caused constant headaches, congestion, random illnesses, and breathing difficulties--the list goes on. I repeatedly contacted the office about my concerns, but they completely disregarded them. The only solution they offered was to clean the air ducts for "mildew." Shortly after the ducts were cleaned, our symptoms became much worse, likely because the mold was spread throughout the apartment. We eventually had to contact corporate and explain what was happening, including that I have pre-existing health conditions. Corporate said a professional mold tester would be sent to the apartment. After the testing, the property manager emailed me stating that there was mold growth, but claimed it was "normal." When I asked her to attach the actual test results, she sent another email stating the conclusion showed no mold growth at all. These were two completely contradictory statements. The results themselves showed elevated levels of Aspergillus/Penicillium and the presence of multiple mold types that were not found outdoors, which was used as the control. Despite this, management insisted the mold levels were "not elevated." And It was mostly in the bathroom connected to the bedroom where I sleep and spend half of the day there!! This experience was incredibly frustrating, misleading, and harmful to our health. If you value your well-being--especially if you have allergies or respiratory issues. I strongly recommend staying far away!! Even 9 months out of the moldy apartment I lived in, I am still fighting with health issues. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Living here was disgusting. On the other note THIS APARTMENT IS WAY TOO EXPENSIVE TO BE LIVING IN THESE CONDITION!! Go save money, time and your health by choosing another apartment. UPDATE TO SYNC'S DUMBASS RESPONSE: They are really gonna reply back saying that there was NO mold growth. Look at those disgusting pictures of MOLD in our apartment. And I guess all of my health problems I'm just making up . THE COMPANY THAT CAME TO DO THE MOLD TEST WAS HIRED BY SYNC. So if you have the same problems. GET YOUR OWN MOLD TESTER. They also keep saying that the testers tested NO mold and that's not what the tests or results say. The results say that the mold levels aren't elevated. Which for a normal person you might not feel the effects as much. But I have health issues that they never seemed to care about and made no difference to them. When I moved out, I had a professional cleaning crew to deep clean the apartment to make sure that nothing would be charged, since most student apartments in San Marcos will try to scam you out of money at move out. I took videos and pictures of everything. Now the Outpost is trying to charge me $250 for carpet replacement. I lived in my apartment for 2 years, my roommates carpet had been replaced in between then but mine never was. So, the carpet was at least 2 years old already, but I'm assuming it was older because I did not have what appeared to be fresh carpet when I moved in. Obviously the apartment knew the carpet was old, because they decided to rip up the carpet once I moved out. However, they took a picture of the under side of the carpet that was ripped up trying to hold me responsible for a stain that they found. They were obviously replacing the carpet anyways as the pictures showed the carpet already ripped up before they found something they believed they could charge for. I have pictures of videos of the carpet when I moved out and there is not one stain, tear, rip, or hole in any part of the carpet. They could not send a picture of the top of the carpet showing a stain was there, they sent a picture of the underside of the carpet after it was already ripped up. Trying to dispute this charge has been impossible. I first contacted the apartments and they refused to talk to me about the charge and said everything needed to be through email. So I emailed and they pointed me to a third party company that is supposed to handle the disputes. The third party company is legit an AI company as I've tried to contact them and speak with them, but can never get a human and get AI responses back. The third party AI response told me to contact the apartments about these concerns and the only option I had was to pay the charge. So I've contacted the apartments again requesting information on how to file a dispute, but since then they've been ignoring all communications. I have emailed several times and called several times, no responses to emails, and all phone calls have been sent to voicemail. My father was the guarantor of the apartment and he called, which they answered and already knew who he was without asking his name. He also requested assistance on how to file a formal dispute and they told him he would "have to fight the credit bureau on the charges". This is not legal as there has to be a formal dispute process, not taking up to the credit bureau when the collections will have already impacted credit score. They said there was 90 days for people to pay or dispute charges before the charges go to collections, but so far the only option I've been presented is to pay the charge. They are refusing to discuss with me any dispute process. I am very disappointed in how they've handled this matter and they will try to take any money they can out of you. It's not worth it. I know they will reply telling me to contact the office to figure it out but that's a lie. They're refusing any communication with me when I am just requesting how to do a formal dispute so it can get figured out before hitting our credit.

We contacted the office on Friday and were told there was no emergency maintenance and we'd have to wait until Monday. Because of that, we've basically had to leave our front door open for safety reasons since then. Someone finally came Monday and even said, "I don't know what the office staff was talking about because we do have emergency maintenance." It's now Wednesday and we've gone over a week without a functioning front door handle. I genuinely do not feel safe living here when we can't properly close or secure our front door.
