I had blonde highlights that were very grown out and wanted to dye over them back to my natural which is a warm medium brown. My hair came out pitch black with a red tone to it. The service took long and she kept stopping and left the dye sitting on my head for about 1 hour then came back and put more dye on my head and then left me sit??? My skin is very very sensitive and it was sitting on it to the point where my scalp was burning a bit. My hair was not rinsed well and it left a film like there was too much conditioner that was still on my hair and there was dye left on my shirt, my face, and my scalp and hairline. Then I was told to just use rubbing alcohol at home to get it off. And I heard my stylist talking very loudly about me in another room saying what I was asking for was not realistic and it was too hard and if it was taking to long for a simple color it's not her problem... Mind you she kept stopping and would not wash my hair out left a treatment I didn't ask for on my hair for 30 mins in between washing me out and when I called raising my concern it was brushed off and they would not give me a refund. Mind you I am a 17 year old girl in high school who paid 150$ to leave the salon in tears!! Thank you Mimi's salon but you just lost a client

All went perfectly and our hours coordinate best with my in home client schedule. I am now booked through June. The salon is very neat as well as a a nice place to just unwind with coffee, tea or water in a clean self service area. It is quiet, female run and offers a relaxing atmosphere. I have seen patrons of all ages to include male clients and golden age ladies as well. I love the privacy of the shampoo room. That is very important to me with an immaculate rest room. The product lines are high quality and unique. I credit both Liz as well as Alex for their fine work as my hair is healthier in 3 months. Look no further for excellence and a unique salon with quick parking with a very inexpensive meter app. The salon is in a unique area of New Haven known as westville. I then hit Pistachio (a "staple"vintage cafe). I make it a ME day. Some other stores on the block are artsy with a boho feeling and are within a safe walking area on Whalley Avenue. I recommend this salon as a State licensed medical professional myself. I'm admittedly fussy and a perfectionist. I can't wait for my next appointment. I am in need of a minor surgery which will force me to cut back on my own expenses. I will continue to treat myself to Soho. I am only 15 min away from the salon as I live in North Haven. The color service does include a glaze w blow dry whereas my Westport salon did not. I love the location and atmosphere. Liz is not only gorgeous but a kind, friendly person. I set out seeking help for a hair catastrophe that needed a dire fix! (haha long story). Upon arrival, I was met with the salon owner, Casey. I gave her a quick run down of my predicament & she was able to fit me in. Despite feeling a bit stressed & defeated, her warmth, kindness & understanding put me at ease. Considering the shape of my hair, I wasn't sure I'd have even a decent outcome. However, as I told her, she was an absolute god send! i hate to leave a negative review but paradise is so incredibly underwhelming that i feel it's just…read moreright to warn people. i do my own and other people's nails (gel and gel x) so im very familiar with proper gel techniques and nail hygiene. i come to paradise for pedicures and i can't help but notice every single time the nail techs fail to properly prepare my nails for gel and their gel application is incorrect. layers of polish are way too thick, improperly cured, and worst of all THEY CUT YOUR CORNERS!! cutting corners of the big toe is super common in salons but i specifically asked them not to as it creates a big risk of ingrowns or impaction on the big toe. super painful and unhygienic. my tech did it anyways. i was also not exactly impressed with the massage or scrub. it seems like paradise just wants you in and out as fast as possible. i wouldn't recommend paradise for pedicures.
