My experience here was very disappointing. When I arrived, I explained that I wanted a wash, blow dry, and cornrow braid down for a wig install, and I was assured it would be done quickly with no problem. Next, I was asked to comb out my own hair even though it was already detangled. During the wash, they were out of shampoo and kept adding water to the little bit that was left, so my hair never felt properly washed. My hair also was not fully blow dried before the stylist started braiding it while still wet. She also made me part my own hair. What frustrated me the most was the timing. Every other braid she attempted to do she kept unraveling them and was constantly restarting. I was told the style would take less than an hour, but after over an hour the front cornrows still were not finished. When I asked how much longer the back would take, I was told 20 minutes, but it ended up taking another hour. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional, unorganized, and very misleading. She went above and beyond to make sure that my little girl got the hairstyle that she really wanted. She stayed over after hours just to make sure that my little girl got her hair done. Her prices were reasonable, and I would definitely recommend anyone who's looking to get their child's hair done to go with 138. I'm not sugarcoating when I say this. I called her yesterday at like 3 something she answered the phone and told me that if I can be there in a hour that she would do my little girls's hair that same day. It took me two hours to get there Just preparing. After I got there, she still accepted me offered to do a more convenient hairstyle that will last longer which I liked and my daughter loved over the actual style she wanted. They will raise the price once you arrive. I have shaved sides and neck and I was still charged the full price for senegalese twists. I wanted micro twists but they will talk and convince you other wise. Even after I started several times I wanted small to micro they still did whatever they wanted to my hair. I ended out with small cornrows randomly placed in my head although the hairstyle is supposed to be all individual twists something they do as a shortcut!! They weren't busy at all, which was great! They took my daughter right away and did a great job on her hair. My daughter loved it!!! However, they may have braided a little tight around her edges, but overall good experience. They were very nice. I paid $75 to get my daughter's hair cornrowed, which I think is a little steep for a 7 year old, but they did a good job so it wasn't too bad. read more

I started going to this shop last summer. I was getting Senegalese twists for the first time and the service was superior. I had two ladies on my head and was finished within four hours! I loved it. Later that summer, I returned to the shop to get my hair re-braided but this time, the service had declined. The second time, it took around six hours. Granted I had one braider on my hair, but it could of been completed faster if she hadn't stopped to talk on her phone numerous time. The ironic part is that there are HUGE signs that state, "No braider is allowed to talk on their phone while braiding hair. The customer comes first". I gave the shop the benefit of the doubt and returned in May to once again get braids for the summer. The service was a little better, the the quality of the braids were terrible. The braids were done loosely and my natural hair was sticking through the braids. Within three weeks, I had to return to get the edges redone. Getting my edges redone by them was a problem on its own. It took the braider four hours to re-braid just the three outside rows and the outcome of the braids were once again terrible. it's only been two weeks and the braids are coming apart and unknotting. She also kept stopping to argue with other braiders in the shop about who opened the shop that morning. I have absolutely had it with this shop. They started out excellent and their intentions were great, but over time, their service and professionalism has declined. I will not be recommending this shop to others and I will be looking for another braiding shop in the area. read more

Needed my hair braided since I was tired of styling my natural hair. I walked in around 1 on a Wednesday to set an appointment to get my hair braided. I was able to get my service right away and they even wash hair. My hair needed to be washed ,which was the reason for the inquiry about an appointment. Maybe a total of 90min including hair wash. Worst braiding experience of my life. First off when I walked into the shop it was dirty with braiding hair everywhere. Mind you I was the first appointment and arrived 8am. Which means they didn't clean the shop the previous night. Then they put 2 people on my head which normally isn't an issue of the braid era have the same style of braids so you don't have two sets of different looking braids in your head. Too late! They had my head all jacked up. The woman who braided the front of my hair did a fairly decent job. Except I bought 18in hair and she folded way too much of the hair so it was really short. I've bought the same exact hair and length and its always been way longer. The braider in the back of my head neglected to braid the hair past my original hair.... This is a huge problem because I am all natural so I have puff balls at the end of each braid because she was too lazy to braid the correct way. You can see it and look at the picture I have provided above. On top of a that the lady was eating chicken nuggets while braiding my hair!!! Disgusting! While she is practically telling at the woman who is sitting next to me. A woman then came into the shop asking to displat and show how her mary kay product worked. one of my braiders stopped working on my head so she could sample the perfumes and check out what else was in the catalog. This took a total of 15min I was so annoyed by the end I just paid them and left no tip. The lady had the nerve to ask me when I was taking my hair down so she can call me to get my hair done again! Pushy as hell. I will never return their again. It looks so bad I'm having my friend take it down and redo it. Very unsatisfied customer. read more

Worst braiding experience ever - Don't go! Within 24 hours, my braids were coming out & I contacted them. I had been waiting on a manager to call me back for two weeks after I went in and constantly called. When I finally heard from a manager, it had been three weeks & she want to say, "It has been more than a week." You think - I've been waiting on you for two after I contacted! Got there at 6 which is what time the website says they open. No one showed up until 730 am. And it was only 1 person. There were 4 of us waiting. The lady who did my hair was in the phone and kept running to the shop next door. Also everyone is given a different price. I paid a 100 for the same thing someone else paid 80 for. When I told her a braid was to tight she began picking the hair around it out of the braid. Which hurt like hell. She pulled and yanked a lot as well.Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

This place is the worst, I made my daughter an appointment online since it is advertised as 3% off for booking online,they did not grant that they have false advertising online. They charged me $15 more then the price they advertised online. Even though I made an appointment we had to wait over an hour for someone to start my daughters hair. The lady kept telling me "she coming she getting the water" the lady who finally did my daughter hair was helping another lady braid another customer hair while we waited over an hour and she only started my daughter hair at that time because I threatened to leave. Three strikes and you are out! I will never return to this facility ever again! The first time I went there, it was fine. My hair turned out good and the price was reasonable. I waited about a year before I went back because I wasn't ready to wear my hair in braids. But when I returned, my experience was horrible. I paid double the price for a similar style as the first time (goddess braids). The young lady braided my hair way too tight, she burned my braids with a lighter, and brushed on this dishusting gel to hold everything in place. Terrible! After that experience, I wasnt happy but i liked the convenience of that location so I decided to give them one last try.I waited about two weeks to get the goddess braids again. This time I got the same amount of braids as I did the very first time I ever went and I was charged more than double the price this time. I questioned the price and told them how dissatisfied I was with the tightness of my last braids. I also asked her not to burn my hair, as it was my hair that was being burned, as well as the synthetic hair. I was told that someone else would be doing my hair and they would address all of my concerns. The young lady who braided my hair this time did a worse job than the one before. She obviously had an attitude when she started my hair (probably because I complained) and treated my head as if it was a mannequin head. When she was done, instead of burning my hair, she used the scissors to cut all of the Fly Away strands, which also included my own hair. When I asked her if she was cutting my own hair she said no because she knew what my hair looked like. I knew this was not true. When I took my braids down 2 weeks later, my hair was in worse condition than it was before I ever went there. I could clearly see where my hair had been cut during the cutting process, or burned. I should have never given them that last opportunity to disappoint me, but I can assure you they will never get another chance. read more

This is the most unprofessional braid shop I have encountered in numerous states and countries. Their disposition is extremely rude and just plain mean. When they don't want to service your style of choice they make ridiculous excuses. The store manager/man next door is a bully. Apparently he requires lessons in customer service. Most of the staff are friendly, however the braids that my daughter and I received (spring twist) weren't done very good. The hair started coming out within 1 week of completion. When returned to the shop to have them redo it, they charged me for the hair. They didn't back or guaranteed their work. I am not please and will never return. read more

This is the worst braiding salon ever! She did my hair yesterday charged me $100 then told me I needed to take it to another hair salon to be completed! I asked for the chrochet braids with marley hair. It is a kind of hair that swells so assuming she was a professional I thought she would know not to but a mountain of hair on my head. I was wrong she put entirely too much hair in my head!!! It was not wearable. I had to take the hair out the very next day. She tried to blame it on the hair and me the very next day when I called her. She said what do you want me to do and I forgot to mention when I went for her to fix the issue that same day she began hacking through the bush on my hair wildly with some shears and claimed she could and would not fix it the way I wanted her too! Long but Read it. You'll be happy you did! Here's the deal, if I could score a 0, I would do so. I feel foolish for not looking them on yelp prior to going. This is now a life long lesson for me. My experience in short, I looked at their website, found a lovely cornrow up do, simply gorgeous. Called in as a walk in and was told to come on in even though it was already 6pm. My first mistake, typically folks are tired at the end of the day so you risk getting a not so well job. However, I'm headed to vacation and was thrilled to find the exact look I wanted and then their flexibility to see me right away...thought it was a God send. Anyway, I paid $10 extra for a hair wash with my own products and the wash didn't feel thorough, you know the kind where they barely touch your scalp and I'm not sure the top right received any shampoo. But these days even regular stylists sometimes do a poor job, so I brushed it off. The results of the hair style: it only vaguely resembled the picture on the site and on their wall. It's the one of the woman in the red shirt (corn row up do). The precision was none existent. The braids had far too much space in between them. On one side of my head where there should be approximately 15 braids, was only about 7. The ball at the top was too far to the front of my head b/c she didn't braid the front back far enough. The back had pretty braiding but it wasn't symmetrical at all and the part in was not centered. Also, the ball at the top was no where near like the picture. In the picture the ball is constructed from the braids that were braided from the cornrows in a designed way, however she just balled up those braids and then made an independent braid and wrapped it around. At the end of the evening she asked did I like it and I just said, it doesn't look like the picture, I paid and left. I thought I could live with it even though I was very displeased. She took pictures before I left so I think she felt she did a good job. I felt like maybe she did her best so I was trying to make myself ok with it all. The next day I did a side by side comparison of what I asked for versus what I received and was not happy. So, I went back to the shop, spoke to her b/c the manager wasn't there. She agreed to redo for the next day b/c she said she'd be leaving after the client she was servicing. She also tried to share that the front spacing had to do with my hair not being full. However, the evening before she'd bragged on how full my hair was b/c she stated some clients ask for styles that can't be accommodated b/c of their hair type, so I knew this was an excuse. Anyway, b/c she was sort of dismissive when she told me that she'd do it the next day (b/c she didn't commit to a time), I felt uneasy and knew I wouldn't get service so I called back later to speak to a manager. He told me to come back so I did. When I went back at least 5 hours later, she's still there working on a new customer even though she told me she was leaving immediately after the customer from earlier in the day (of which I'd had the feeling she was lying). Anyway, he tried service recovery, but didn't fully deliver. Suggested it could be redone same day by someone who could make it look exactly like the picture but when I agreed he then stated it was too late in the day and didn't think he'd be able to get them and also shared how it would hurt my head to take it down, etc. So, he offered money back and then only suggested $10 out of $100 paid. When I shared $30 would be fair he tried to negotiate.....how do you ask me what is fair then negotiate? I'm very disappointed. It's not about the money at all, I just want the product/service I paid for. Getting your hair braided can already be a painful process b/c of how tight it gets braided. Not to mention, I have very healthy hair and it's fairly lengthy so when she was burning the braids for excess hair sticking out of the braids, I was concerned that some of my own hair may be getting burned. So to not be satisfied and have the style resemble something one of my nieces would do was extremely disappointing. We landed at $20 returned and $10 off my next hair style but needless to say I'll never go back. It wasn't about the money, I'd originally paid more to get what was advertised. I wish I'd read these reviews first. Serious life lesson.....research first, it will save you time, money and energy! Don't go there, they can't delivered. Also, the other lady that was getting serviced by another stylist the same easy, stated before she left. This is not what I asked for, right before leaving.
