Great haunted house! Overall it was a great experience, everyone on the crew seemed like they were having a great time and the place was setup very well! Slightly, just SLIGHTLY, better than Fear Farm. The lines were outrageous and borderline laughable. My wife and I went to Halloween Horror Nights AND Knott's Scary Farm this year, and not once did we wait as long as we did for 13th Floor. In fact, I'd bet I could add our cumulative wait time for all 8 mazes at Knott's and still come out around the same time (1.5 hours) as we waited just to get INTO 13th Floor. Once you're inside the "fun" begins. By fun I mean a nearly-empty maze with maybe 15 actors total. We went through 2-3 rooms for every live actor we saw, barring the last section which had slightly more performers (but included an ADDITIONAL 20-30 minute bottleneck on top of the one to enter). My ONLY reason for giving this two stars is the set design and the friendly staff. It kept this from being the absolute worst haunted attraction my wife and I have ever been to, and we've been to a lot of haunts, from huge Hollywood productions to small community haunted houses. The award for the worst haunted attraction we've ever been to goes to this company's partner production Fear Farm. Get more actors, figure out line mechanics, and don't charge almost the same $$$ as Knott's Scary Farm for entry, and you all might have a decent thing going. read more

Two stars for how many times I actually got scared. You know that feeling when you're stuck behind someone whose talking loudly in line? How about when someone tells you the ending of the episode you're watching? In this experience you might get both. To be fair we went on a Friday night and it was packed. There was minimal spacing between groups. If someone is very slow in front of you, you might stay stuck behind them as there will be people behind you too. We ended up stuck behind a group that was screaming every 20 seconds or so. So I'm honestly not sure how scary it actually is because I had a warning system in front of me the whole time. The actors were genuine and props to them for what they do. It's definitely not an easy job and they do great acting. Many would just get finished scaring the previous group and turn around only to be caught in the act by you. If you want to go, try a time where there might not be as many people. I think there are areas to improve the experience but that might be at the expense of some volume with how much everyone is crammed. Definitely entertaining for kids. read more

So much fun!!! Went for a girls 13th bday (so 5 13 year olds). Two were dying before we went in. It was pretty scary especially the second half. At one point one of the girls were so scare she was crying from the chainsaw guy and I asked her if she needed out. At least 4 people went out of character to make sure she was okay. This was the first time I had attended 13th Floor. I did like that they offered Fast Pass, and you could get a discounted ticket at Costco. There was plenty of parking and everyone had to wait in one line to go through security check before going into either General or Fast Pass lines (I do believe there is another pass version you can get that costs more and goes before Fast Pass). The security line actually went quite fast and staff was helpful and friendly. After getting through security, there are several creepy creatures that walk around the lines. The Fast Pass line went so much faster than general admission. Remember, Costco, you can get fast pass for the price of general admission...totally worth it. I was quite impressed with the set / props used. Details were done amazingly well. While I am generally one that gets freaked out, it really had more of a cool movie set feel with a couple of creatures that came out and startled you a little bit. They take photographs so there is an opportunity for you to get and purchase group photos. It is nice length, and definitely feels like you are in there for a while. For those that may be a little queezy, there are plenty of EXITS throughout the experience. The only restrooms I saw around were porta-potties. Make sure you plan accordingly. For the price, I would expect a little more fear factor. The "set" within the facility is very well done. They just need a little bit of tweaking with the working staff (zombies, psychos, etc.). I do not recommend women wear heals or uncomfortable shoes. There are definitely some areas that you will be glad to have on a tennis shoe of a flat. Enjoy y'all! read more

Took my daughter to her first ever haunted house at the 13th floor tonight. We had an amazing time and the attention to detail was top notch. They allow you enter in small groups which adds to the scare as complete strangers literally cling to you for their lives. The actors and scare team rival Hollywood as they creep you out throughout the entire event. It was well organized and some areas are risky for small children but it's worth it all the way. Be sure to wear closed toed shoes because some areas are sketchy to walk through and you'll have the scare of your life. Highly recommend and will be taking more of my family members here as we get closer to Halloween. Well done! read more

TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY. The actors were not even scary, they were just plain rude. The staff didn't explain the rules well and let far too many people into the maze at once. Although they are not allowed to touch you, they snatched things out of your hands with aggression to the point where one of them cut my finger. Then when I told them about it they just made fun and continued to be rude. The rules also state that smoking in line is prohibited and when a man behind our group was smoking I saw a worker head his way. I thought for sure the staff would tell him to put it out. NO, instead he took a couple hits and allowed the man to keep smoking in line. I wouldn't go back to 13th floor even if it was free. Save your money and watch a scary movie at home. read more

*sigh* There were so many things about this place that annoyed me to the very core. 1: it's located in a strip mall parking lot 2: the "mood" music playing for the crowd was a la Taylor Swift. Really?! Hot Topic has a better/creepier/ more fitting music selection. 3. The ticket booth chicks. Tickets were $26.99 plus tax. I had 3 $2 off coupons, and was charged over $87 for 3 tickets. Somebody can't add. (Same price, same 3 $2 off coupons used at Fear Farm and I was only charged $81 for 3 tickets. I want my darn $6 back.) 4. They made you go in with other people, instead of letting your group in by yourselves. Boo. 5. 0 scare factor. Zilch. Nada. I walked through there like it was Sesame Street. No jumps. No startles. 6. I am a huge, and I mean huge horror movie fan and a general all around fan of anything scary. So as you can imagine, I have been to a number of Haunted Houses over the years, and although each brings their own little twist to the even they're generally all about the same. Long lines, lots of people, and some scaredy cat about 15 feet ahead screaming like a baby giving it away to everyone else. I decided to check out 13th Floor after seeing a billboard advertisement at Westgate bike night a day or two before. The trailer looked really good, so I really had high hopes but prepared myself to be disappointed. I am excited to say that was not the case at all and although a little on the expensive side at $25, it was worth the price of admission. As you would expect at typical haunted house they are roaming actors harassing the patrons as they wait for their turn to enter. I don't want to give anything away, but it took about 30 minutes to go through the whole thing which consists of two separate concatenated mazes. There are a lot of actors, and it's clear that a lot of time and money was spent in setting everything up and getting it ready to be as scary as possible. They even used some interesting techniques to keep people moving in the right direction, and getting one closer to the scary things than they'd probably like. I don't know if they'll be back next year, or if it will be just as good, but this was something not to miss if you're in or around the Phoenix area! read more

I just went today with a couple of friends... NOT worth the 30 dollar ticket!! The whole experience was 15 minutes tops, and half of the haunted house is closed. I don't know if I missed that part but I didn't recall on the website telling us half of the haunted house is not opened! Incredibly unsatisfactory, there were almost no interaction. The people who were working the haunt were lackluster and not interactive at all. There were not even any scares that were close to scary. It was like walking into the "scary" section of a Spirit Halloween. The decor all could have been bought at Home Depot or created by a quick diy. Not worth the $140 for the four of us. I would not recommend for anyone except the very easily scared. Also, we asked at the beginning how long it would take, they said 30 to 40 minutes. It took 10 to 15 minutes and then they were trying to get people to wait in line for some boring photos that cost more money. We came with a group for the Zombie Apocalypse experience. The wait time outside was about 30 minutes, which wasn't horrible. We were given guns (mine luckily functioned! use the short-stock option) and then we were released into the maze. We came with a group of 6 people, but we took the recommendation to split up into two teams of 3 people each. Definitely split your group if you can - otherwise you won't see as many zombies. At the door, we were told to sign a waiver since the zombies can touch you; not sure how I feel about that. Luckily none of the zombies got a chance - my team of 3 had an ex-military guy covering our 6 while my husband took point, and I took the precaution of shooting each downed zombie in the head three times as I passed them. I might have yelled "stay down!" a lot while doing it. If you come in prepared with an athletic team, ready to run, you'll be through in 10 minutes. That's my main issue - $30 is $20 too much for this experience. $10/person is much more reasonable for the amount of time you spend in the maze. read more

What a fun night! I have a total love hate relationship with haunted houses. I love to hate them. For me, Haunted Houses are like a bad car wreck. You know, where you really dont want any part of it, but... you have to! You have to get involved and no matter how much you don't want too, you have to look. That was me to a tee last night at the 13th Floor. When we arrived, I was so brave!!!! I was showing my husband this place ain't got nothing on me!! We entered the elevator thing, it started jolting us around, the creepy receptionist lady makes her speech and next thing you know the door opens! But... I was the last one on the elevator. Sooooooo when the door opened, I was now the FIRST one to get off. Um... this is NOT what I signed up for. Where is my Hercules to guide me? Oh... he pushes me ahead and says, "Oh No!! This is your doing and your night! You lead the way!!" Ok...deep breath...I got this!! I strut my stuff like no ones business, and then...Raaaahhhhhhh... Oh hell no!!!! I sooooooooo don't got this!!! Que my fingers in my ears, face in the wall, fall to the ground, to crawl and get away! I don't want to give it away so I will leave this at, I am not brave, I am a huge wuss, and I still, very much, have, a love hate relationship with haunted houses. Bleh... That about sums up how good the actual attraction was... The work put into it was great, as far as props and actors, but it it wasn't scary what-so-ever... My sister bought a fast pass ticket for my birthday, so I'm not as pissed as I would've been had I spent $35 dollars to walk through for like 20 minutes, not being scared and only ONCE!.. We actually had more fun in the parking lot AFTERWARDS because the monsters to keep the line somewhat entertained were hilarious... They took plenty of pictures and goofed around with us... Bottom line: first timers- go so you can check it off your list but definitely not worth a second time around! read more

I have loved Halloween ever since I was little. Every year I want to make my own haunted house but suffice to say, this is no easy task. So I take the second best option and that is just to attend the "best" one around town. I thought that the 14th floor was going to match that bid - after all I think I originally found it on a "nationally ranked haunted house" list. I went with my girlfriend (who is scared at the haunted train ride at Schnepf Farms), her friend (who wore a pad for when she peed herself), my buddy, and his girlfriend. My summary wouldn't suffice because it seems that I am a hard-ass so let me give my girlfriend's review - "that was a waste of money." Yes, my girlfriend who is scared of children's haunted houses where people just walk around in masks (or not) was more afraid at those than the 13th floor. The house is the same as any other - walk around in the dark and have people rawr at you around corners. Not scary in my opinion because I *know* that is coming. Reading the other reviews I actually think that we were at a completely different place. Fake doors? Moving floors? I must have went in the sissy door because I didn't get any of that. Best part? Going through took a little bit - it wasn't a 10 minute walk-through. So what am I into? I'm probably more into the haunted houses where you have to sign a waiver, have a safe word, will come out drenched in blood, and there is a high likelihood that I will be kidnapped, stripped naked, or put into highly emotional and deep human conflict situations. (Check out Haunted Hoochie at Dead Acres, The Cult, Freakling Bros: Gates of Hell, McKamey Manor, or the Blackout Haunted House. Unfortunately there are no such haunted houses around Phoenix so I'm stuck with the "jump around the corner" type haunted houses. I think it is more scary to walk around downtown Phoenix at night. Ha! So if you are like me how can you make your experience better? First, separate yourself from the group. If nothing else, you can stay with your group but separate yourself from the main group. If a slow group is in front of you then the actors/props will jump out and scare them with you in the background. Giving some space allows the actors and mechanics to reset and you get a fresh viewing. Second, quit speculating what is around the corner and preparing yourself. Third, ditch the scaredy cat that will cling to you and thus give you that extra confidence that you are "not alone." This coincides with my first two points. Fourth, if you must go in a group, go in the front... or the back. You will have the most likelihood for people to come and attempt to scare you. As for General versus VIP, that is a tossup. I did the GA and didn't mind it. Actors come around and harass you. I actually found that to be more enjoyable than the house itself. The VIP line was much shorter, though. read more

The blackout event was really lame. It was like they took the night off and said "here's a glow stick go walk through the haunted house." Wayyyy too many people walking through at once. I was more scared at home last night when I woke up in the middle of the night and went to grab a glass of water in the dark. A haunted house that was supposed to last 30-45 minutes lasted a max of 15. There were approximately 10 actors total. I would highly love to give this haunted house the benefit of the doubt due to any Covid restrictions but there was no effort put in at all to ensure a scary time for the people who paid. I also cannot simply seem to understand how such a successful business that has been up and running for such a long time can justify simply ripping off customers. We went back this year thinking it would be just as good as last year but of course following Covid guidelines. We purchased the fast pass due to the hour wait we had last year. We got there at our designated time and only waited 5 min to go in. It started off well, set up was great. But we had a group in front of us that refused to go through spots and we're holding up the line! So I think they should have made groups go farther apart. It ruins it when everyone is just back to back. And it went by so fast, then we find the second half of the haunt is closed!? I feel it was not worth the money this time. I've never been to 13th floor before, my usual haunted house favorite is fear farm. However, it was Halloween day, maybe 4 pm when I realized I wanted to do something other than staying in and watching movies so my options were kind of slim for which haunted house was still selling tickets. I should've read the reviews before purchasing because they were totally true. The house was still scary and I had a fun time but there was very limited staff to work the event and scare. Maybe 5 people had jumped out at us during the 45 minutes it took to get through the house. Overall, it still was a good time and the staff that was there tried to have fun with it. Maybe in another year or two when the COVID has settled down I would try again, but not for now. read more
