My mom's old iPhone 8 Plus was on its last legs -- the touchscreen would often stop responding, and she had to restart the phone using the volume button just to get the screen working again. Suddenly, the volume button also stopped working, which meant she couldn't restart the phone at all when the screen froze. We were looking for a bare minimum solution, to have the old phone be functional long enough to transfer her data to a new phone. I called a few places looking for a simple, temporary fix, and luckily found this store. When I explained the situation, they offered to help with the data transfer instead of repairing the older phone. They temporarily installed a working screen on the old phone, let us complete the transfer, and then even swapped the cracked screen back afterward. I called one place on Garvey and they wanted to charge me $130 to replace the charging port but this place only charged me $70. I got here 5pm on a Friday and they said they could fix it in 2 hours before they closed. I came back and y phone was fixed and working like new. I was able to use a fast charger again and my phone charges up fully in an hour like when I first bought it. The people here are also pretty friendly. I'd recommend this shop 100%. read more

I am so happy I found this place and that they were able to recover my iPhone XS Max that went swimming in the ocean in Hawaii. I was hopeless because I went to someone else before finding 168 Fix It and they said it wasn't recoverable. The screen wasn't as sharp as the original screen but it didn't make too big of a difference. The bad part is, a month after the screen replacement, my iPad screen cracked again. I didn't drop it or hit anything against it. This usually means improper installation or a cheap screen was used. I came here for a screen protector in which Jason assisted me. He told me everything I needed to know about the different types of protectors and suggested which one best suits my needs and proceeded to install it for me within minutes! A couple days after my initial purchase of a screen protector, I accidentally cracked/chipped it. I called the store and Jason picked up, I explained my situation and he told me that there is a one month warranty for the protector and he would replace it for me free of charge! I took my daughters phone in to get her camera fixed. When I came back to pick it up I noticed the screen was cracked near the home button. I immediately notified the guy and showed him the work order which showed the phone was handed with over with NO DAMAGE. Good customer service. I took my iPhone 7 Plus in for what I thought was a simple fix to lightening cable port- it was loose making it difficult to charge. That was the only issue I had, otherwise worked like a champ. An hour later the phone has a new port and it doesn't charge. I was told it had "multiple issues". I didn't have other issues waking in the shop. I ask they just return it back to it's original port and I'll take it elsewhere. Next day when I made a phone call the microphone didn't work. Ultimately, I had to get a new phone when all I wanted was a new port that could charge. Hopefully better luck for others. read more

There was nothing wrong with the customer service that I received at 168 Fix It, but once I got my phone back after a screen replacement (cracked screen), I realized that I would rather have paid for a fix under my insurance or gotten a new phone with the original screen than get a screen replacement at 168. My complaints were the following: 1. Blue color to white background - the color that was being projected through the new glass was not the same. Instead of white, I got a tint of blue. 2. Constant screen freezing 3. Digitization not working well 4. When I would receive phone calls, the sound was very low.
