The shrimp cocktail were very lightly seasoned, so you could truly appreciated the freshness! I love clam strips and was very happy with the ones here. Have gotten takeout here a few times and always come away impressed. Love the fried platters, especially the scallops and shrimp. The fries are pretty solid, and the coleslaw is also oddly excellent. They blast this fact all over the menu, but would still caution that takeout is often an hour+ and you will need to be patient. FWIW I do love that they're always upfront and transparent with the wait times. Prices are kinda hefty given the relatively small portion sizes, but if the food is high quality and fresh then I can get behind the numbers to a certain extent. Meh. Ick. What else can I say... Do NOT eat here if you are taking it to go. We were left beyond disappointed with the food here (we did to go food). We were staying (a group of us) in the area for a week and decided to give this place a try. What a waste. We tried several different options (from the fish to crab to pasta), and the best part of it all was the salad. All of the other items were over cooked and lacked flavor. The fish was tough and such a let down, especially for the price (which we realize you pay for good quality food, so I'm not complaining about it being too pricey). Maybe we had an off day, but I wouldn't think that with getting such a variety of items that everything would be so off. We should have read some of the reviews that did not recommend this for takeout. Even the crab cakes were not good. The quality was very good and even better because I prepared the meals. The only comment I have is about the salmon (advertised as organic) There is no USDA approved organic salmon. Some salmon farms take precautions to do a better job raising the fish but it is not organic. So, my concern was, is that a way to charge almost $20 per pound by labeling the salmon ORGANIC! read more

For our last day of vacation we decided to pay a visit to the 16th Street Market since it was only three blocks away from our rental. I ordered the broiled seafood combo which came with a crab cake, scallops, shrimp, and flounder. I also had a choice of a baked potato or fries. I chose the baked potato. Everything was delicious and fresh, however I do wish there was more seasoning. I also ordered the 15 steamed clams which came with garlic butter sauce and they were great. Fiancé ordered three blue claw crabs and an order of bacon wrapped scallops which he said he enjoyed. Family friend ordered the crab stuffed flounder and fries and he could not stop raving about his meal. Overall although the meal was great, it was expensive. They use to be $15/lb there, not sure what they went up to. So my lovely wife called around all the seafood places in OC and finally found a place that had them, 16th St. Seafood. They were $20/lb here, but sheet, I travelled all the way from north jersey for some fat crabs and by God, I was gettin' me some. So 2 lbs. later, I was feeling quiet sexy from devouring those beasts. All I can review is the crabs, which were on point. I'm not a big shrimp or fish guy, so you will just have to go off the other reviews. However, if you looking specifically for Dungeness crabs, look no further. Oh, and they will steam them for you too, no charge. People who complain about bad pasta dishes don't seem to realize you should only get pasta at an Italian joint, not a seafood place.
