Walked into a casual burger place. Got seated immediately. Waiter checked on us within 2-3 minutes of seated to get our drinks. They have awesome ice!! We ordered the chili and cheese tater bombs (with the chili and cheese on the side) they came out very hot and fresh. Their chili did have a sweet taste but was great. Made our order. I ordered the"Pittsburger" which is a 7oz burger cooked to order (medium and it was cooked perfectly) topped with thinly cut ribeye steak, provolone cheese, grilled peppers and onions and topped with fries on sourdough toast. My hubby ordered "The Terminator" which was a 7 oz patty topped with melted provolone cheese topped with roast beef, fried onions and served with au jus. We received our burgers and they were both hot fresh and both cooked to our liking! They were juicy, seasoned great and definitely delicious!! We tried this place for dinner while we were visiting Florence. It's a great burger place close to a lot of hotels. We got cheese sticks and tater bombs, to start us off. Both our appetizers tasted great and were gone in mins. I then got 'Top Gun', with bacon jam, blue cheese crumbles, and grilled onions, with sweet potato fries. I was excited to try this spot as I read reviews before I visited. I don't know what has changed here but clearly a lot. The menu isn't as lengthy as it was before yet it still had plenty of options...especially when you add the create your own burger portion with plenty of options. It seemed as though literally 50% of what we ordered we were told they were out of stock. The 1720 fries (minus bbq because they were out) were cold. The cheese, fries and bacon had to be cut and served from what I viewed. I was in no way trying those fries. The wings were ok. We took the flavor the hostess recommended and they were hot when served. I built my own burger. I had one party, American cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato, topped with a fried egg. I asked for medium. My director sitting beside me asked for medium. We were the only two out of five that went with burgers. Maybe they knew something we didn't since they were locals Our food arrived and my bun was dry dry dry, crusty old. The burger was cooked well done so was my directors. It was so dry. It wasn't even seasoned well. The marinated cucumbers were actually really good. Either that or I was absolutely starving. This place was a total let down. Oh well. THEN I go to the restroom before we leave. There were cobwebs strung from one side of the restroom to the other. I couldn't believe my eyes. It wasn't just one strand that maybe someone missed while cleaning quickly. It was utterly disgusting. I am traveling alone on business and frequently look to sports bars when I'm in this situation. Today I went to 1720 and sat at the bar. I had 2 beers; one was a local from Florence which was very good. The other came out of Charlotte and was fine. I had the Wendy burger which comes with swiss cheese, mushrooms and onions. I thought it would come with lettuce and tomatoes, but it did not. The burgers come with hand cut french fries which were EXCELLENT. Something to keep in mind. The exposed HVAC ducts sweat and drop on you when you sit at the bar. I mentioned it to the bartender, and she said that "management" had been told but had done nothing about it. Overall I was disappointed in this place. Maybe I built it up too much reading other reviews, but I've been to much better. The atmosphere was spot on. Not loud, but not dead either - there was fun pictures / posters on the walls too. The 1720 fries for an app was a great size portion - could feed up to 4 people. They tasted good, but was hoping for a little something better. Again good, but nothing to remember. It's a little thing but when we asked for plates for app, they brought us flimsy (very little) cardboard boats. Plates would have helped in my opinion. The boats got wet and "soggy" in about about 10 minutes which was frustrating and a little unappetizing. The Pittsburg burger was pretty good overall. Very large portion size. The waitress didn't ask us how we liked the burgers cooked and they came out close to well done - I strongly prefer mine medium. Most burger bars will make them medium from my experience unless you request otherwise. We'd appeared to be good quality. Sauces appeared to be homemade, but when tasting them, we had to assume they came from a can. Again, ok but nothing special or to remember. They have an excellent variety of beer on draft - that is if you like IPA's. No amber / ales on draft which was disappointing. I asked what they recommended for an amber and after asking the bartender I ended up with a can of a local beer from Columbia SC...which tasted like a "good quality" bud light- yuck. I didn't finish it. Overall not real bad, but yet disappointing. If they worked on a house sauce, expanded their beer selection beyond IPA's (improved it) and added a few key "secret" ingredients they could really stand out and be a gem of a burger bar! read more

Meeting our family in Florence we had selected another restaurant but found they were not open on this holiday, so a quick look at Yelp brought us to this burger spot. They were somewhat busy, but we were seated promptly. Monday-Friday they have a lunch menu, which includes sweet or unsweetened tea, fries, and a selection of burgers. I opted for a burger with bacon, blue cheese spread, and onion straws. Hubby had a piglet, which had ham, bacon, cheese, and beef. Teen was not too hungry so had cheese sticks for her meal. Burgers were cooked to medium and were very juicy. The onion straws were red onions, which was a nice surprise. We both enjoyed our burgers very much. Our fries were somewhat lukewarm, but were quickly replaced with hot and crispy fries when we told our server. Our other family members had the jalapeño poppers, which they enjoyed, and then split a chicken quesadilla which was served with a ranch dressing that they said was very tasty. Some places serve high-ABV beers in smaller classes but here they are served as 16Oz drafts. Yowzza! I am a sucker for house-cut fries and that is the standard side but of course there are lots of other choices. As I waited for my burger I noted that the atmosphere is your standard dark wood pub. If you have seen one, you've seen a hundred. That's not a bad thing it's just nothing special. While I was looking around, I saw some other tables with tater bombs. They look insanely good. The hand-cut fries were good but maybe a little mushy. My colleague went with a coronary-induing double patty, adding fried onions and extra cheese with something that they call "Tater Bombs" that are not much more than breaded and fried cheese.
