I had gotten work done last August at another Renken. I made an apt here since I now moved to Leander and was still in pain. I had gone to another dental office (not Renken) in April or May and was advised that I would need the crown replaced if the pain didn't subside and since it was done within the year timeframe to go back to the office I had gotten it done. I thought all Renkens were contracted together and was not told EACH IS SEPARATE until after the appointment. That isn't even the main reason I am upset. I am upset because the billing manager tried to insinuate it was odd I waited so long. First of all I wasn't asking for a refund so not sure what I would have to gain. I only wanted the work redone. Maybe some people like having dental work done again for fun but that isn't my idea of a good time. She needs to learn proper etiquette such as how to properly speak with customers and understand dental billing with insurance. Work is normally guaranteed for at least a year. The other staff was nice but I would caution going here since she unfortunately needs further training and coaching. I will be contacting the general manager here as well as leadership at Renken for her to get proper training. Lucky for me my job is to find people online that may not be listed so shouldn't be hard to get in touch with Dr. Renken himself even though he is in another state. It appears this is a known issue as well if you look at other reviews. Luckily I do not bunch all Renkens together and feel bad for the dentist and non billing staff because they were nice. True they should have stated they were all separate PRIOR TO THE APT as I would have never gone to this location. So I will be addressing that as well as it is very confusing.

I called them on June 18th to inform them of their error and they said they would rectify it and send in the correct prescription. They did not. I called again on July 2nd to ask them to please send in the correct prescription to my pharmacy, they still have not, nor have they followed up with me like they said they were going to. It's now over 2 weeks trying to get them to fix an error they made and I am growing increasingly frustrated, as we are going into a holiday weekend and I still don't have the prescription I NEED.

However today when I arrived at the office and paid about $350 it was not for what I was originally quoted. $204 was supposed to be for a cleaning and two upper fillings on my left and right. I was told I was only scheduled for one so I was very much confused about what I had just paid for. I had to show the treatment plan I signed and was told that is not what is in my chart. After having mine and my daughter's work done I am then told our prices have changed because they were using an outdated fee schedule....which I was asked to sign the new ones. These were not small price adjustments like $20/$30 the quotes were off by $70-$150. That doesn't make any sense that you cannot even provide me the correct quote so how do I even trust that this "new" fee schedule is correct. I have never had this happen. If anything I'm usually paying over and ending up with a credit. It would have been better to show me the different fee schedules and how my treatment plans were calculated wrong versus showing me to different plans with very different amounts. If you go here I would definitely have them double check your quotes and billing.

He is understanding about my anxiousness, he explains everything in detail as he is doing a procedure. Dr. Good continues to check in about how you are doing during the appointment. He always presents the option that will benefit you the most...he helps you watch your purse strings. Dr. Good also gets to know you and is always asking about the last thing you talked about. He has a great personality so that helps the time fly by during your visit. The entire staff is amazing!! I have adored all the assistants and hygienists. The office staff is efficient. Yes, the deposit is applied toward the final bill, but that doesn't change the principle. Patients shouldn't feel like they're paying for access to care. Healthcare--especially dentistry--relies on trust, transparency, and patient-first thinking. This experience leaned too far in the direction of financial policy over patient care. If you're exploring dental providers, I'd encourage you to ask upfront about payment practices and find an office whose approach aligns with your expectations. The front desk is always welcoming (shout out to Brandon!), and Dr. Stec is also usually there with a smile and a wave. The wait time is never longer than a couple minutes for me, and the cleanings/procedures themselves are always pretty efficient. I especially appreciated when I first started coming - I was looking for a dentists' office after many years of not going to a dentist because of bad experiences. The office had me fill out a questionnaire which included asking about previous experiences, and when I came in, Brandon and Dr. Stec were extremely aware of my responses and made sure to walk me through every step and ensure that I was comfortable. Most recently, I went in for a couple fillings and as always, the wait time was very short. The procedure itself was not too bad - they made sure to check in multiple times throughout and had me confirm that the tooth felt right at the end. Dr. Stec provided clear instructions for caring afterwards which he also emailed. He also texted the next day to check in and make sure everything was still smooth sailing.
