My friends and I went on a Saturday after a wedding and they still had a brunch menu going till 2 PM. I was very excited because the regular menu though it looked OK nothing was calling me and breakfast just sounded great. I was able to get the lemon blueberry pancakes and let me tell you they were packed full of blueberries with a wonderful lemon sauce on top And they were just perfect. My friend enjoyed her coconut shrimp and the dipping sauce it came with was a mango ketchup. My other friend had their burger and said it was a very good burger and it was quite large so she took leftovers home. The waitress was very on top of refilling. We just tried 1843, and it was such a wonderful experience! Although the restaurant itself is on the smaller side, the Christmas decor was absolutely breathtaking and made the entire space feel warm, cozy, and special. The food was delicious, and the portions were huge, definitely great value for the quality and flavor. Everything we ordered was spot on!! The only drawback is honestly just how far away we live from it, but even that won't stop us from coming back. It's that good! We originally went to celebrate my husband's birthday dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised by the local, welcoming vibe. Even better, it's extremely kid friendly, which makes it a perfect spot for both special occasions and family outings. We're already looking forward to bringing our kids next time. First of all the food was excellent. The cheeseburger was cooked perfectly and the burger had a nice crust. My wife's 'piece' of catfish had a light, crispy coating and was cooked perfectly. Both dishes were accompanied by fresh cut fries which added a nice touch to the meal as was the perfectly concocted Bloody Mary. Our bartender was very friendly and for the most part, attentive. We enjoyed the ambiance of the elderly building which made us feel we were in Coweta during its younger days. Our only complaints concerned value. My wife's wine was $12 for a glass of 14 Hands blend..... outrageous. The catfish dinner consisted of one medium sized fillet and fries for $17......no slaw just tartar sauce. A return trip to 1843 is a possibility but not a priority. read more

Great food & service in a very pleasant setting a must stop when you are in Coweta. I had the hamburger which was great. My wife had the coconut shrimp which was better than a well known seafood restaurant in OKC. The mashed potatoes and green beans were fresh made and delicious . read more

BEWARE!!! Food was great again and my server was amazing as well. Ambiance was relaxed. However, unless they change their practice of upcharging you without telling you that they were going to, i will not go back. I got a steak here and asked for double mashed potatoes instead of one side of mashed potatoes and one side of chefs vegetables. They said no problem and then when i got the check i noticed that they had added a $2 substitution charge. I asked the waitress if there is anything they dont charge the upcharge for and they said no and that ANY substitution results in a $2 charge.... This is insane and it is exactly why i wrote this extra review to warn others. read more

So this is my second time I have had 1843 for their burger special and the first time I did I was disappointed at how little fries they give you . So I chalked it up as a bad night Or off night . Fast forward to Today and they give me the same maybe less my 7 year old son can eat more fries than what I was giving . Very disappointed. The iced tea tasted bitter and foul, the nachos had off queso, the chicken fried steak had the worst gravy made of just water, flour and jalapeños it ruined the steak, and to top it off the kids chicken tenders marinade must have been rancid for days. We sent back the nachos and our entrees barely eaten but paid full price but what would we expect from a restaurant that's serving rancid food and tea to save on food costs? Normally the service is good, but tonight we waited over 30 minutes for our food. Our waitress was very apologetic and explained that they had a big party going on upstairs. She told the manager who did come by our table with an apology--but we felt that some kind of compensation should have been made. Even a small discount or the offer of a free dessert would have been nice. Also We would have appreciated getting a heads up that service in the dining room would be delayed so we could have gone elsewhere. Ordered the smoke meatloaf because friends who have been here said not to get the steak for the price. Meatloaf was luke warm. One slice was warm, one was cold. How does that even happen. I assume the meatloaf is pre made, frozen and then just warmed to temp then the plate was left there while the rest of the party's food was cooked. First time here. Won't be back. Tried this place for the first time today. The food was alright. We would come back, but the grown woman who brought our deserts out practically threw our plates at our table and we didnt enjoy that one bit. Every restaurant has an off day. Every server and every bartender has them, too. But like, take five deep breaths back in the walk-in cooler. Step out for a smoke, or whatever keeps you from being a menace. I'll start with I will certainly be back to try this place again. We were just in the area and decided we wanted to stop for a late lunch without having to drive back to Tulsa. We were given brunch menus. (It was Saturday around 1:30.) We really didn't want breakfast again (and their brunch menu is all breakfast related). Most everyone that came in soon after us got both the brunch and the regular menu. We should have asked. Anywhoo, we ordered the 1843 Hash to split. They plated it in two separate bowls and added a perfectly poached egg to each. The has was great but both servings were setting in a pretty hefty pool of grease. That didn't keep us from eating it all BUT it was a lot of grease. I would have loved to have seen the regular menu for an appetizer. Cool spot in downtown Coweta. My wife and I invited friends to lunch at 1843. It was convenient and it is a nice restaurant, that we thought they might enjoy. It had been over a year since we had dined there. Chicken Tequila Pasta (Today's Special), Smoked Cheddar Burger, RWB Salad, and Blacken Salmon, was our order. I said that I would try a burger on the next visit. It didn't happen, instead, I had the Blackened Salmon. It was a large fresh fillet of Norwegian salmon with house spice rub, flawlessly grilled to a crusty finish. A honey siracha drizzle decorated the plate and glazed the salmon filet. The tangy, sweet and spiciness complemented the mild flavored salmon and the pepper corns in the rub. The garlic mash potatoes were perfect. A pleasing trace of garlic could be tasted, but it was not overpowering. The asparagus was fresh, tender and steamed leaving a little snap in each bite. An excellent meal. All meals were enjoyed. The plates were empty when we departed. The receipt said Abigail was our server. Good job, Thank You! I was going to tell the chef what a great job he did on the mashed potatoes, but I was afraid he would figure out that I was the guy that was bitchin' about 'em and the gravy in my first review. If he reads this, he got the message. We will try not to let so much time pass, before our next visit. read more

This place was definitely unexpected in the town of Coweta. Has a good vibe with open floor and bar area. Customer service was on point as they were able to accommodate a reservation last minute; the server was absolutely sweet and attentive. I was impressed at the hand made mozzarella cheese sticks as usually people offer frozen. These were fresh and homemade. I'd say overall the food needed little more flavoring as it came off a bit bland. The Pork Belly and Mac&Cheese could've use a little more of the protein. read more

For a Friday at lunch, I would have expected this place to be busier. Our waitress, Shyla was really sweet and friendly. Unfortunately the restaurant was playing metal/rock music at a pretty loud volume level, which was not pleasant. I had the peanut butter sriracha burger, and it was quite delicious. I really enjoyed the truffle fries. The manager didn't seem super friendly at first, but he stopped by our table to apologize when we found something not food related on our plate :/ They comped that portion of the meal, thankfully. I wouldn't hesitate to give his place second chance, but I'll probably check out the dinner atmosphere and try one of the yummy sounding drinks I saw on their menu. read more
