Moved in just a few months ago and we decided to come here for dinner. We stopped by after unpacking and needed some good food without going too far away from home. We were the only ones there cause it was close to closing time which the made the service much better, as they were able to tend to our needs. My friend and I decided to try somewhere new. We went for lunch and the lunch menu is mostly salads, burgers and sandwiches. Everything they had seem to be very fresh and though it's a simple menu, everything looked very good. My friend had the patty melt, which she very much enjoyed with the sweet potato fries. The onions were caramelized with Dr Pepper so that sold her. Then I had the mac & cheese bowl with fried chicken strips on top. These chicken strips were some of the best I've ever had. They were extremely crispy and flavorful and held up to their crispiness, even after being on the pasta for a while as I ate. For dessert, we shared the sticky toffee pudding and it was also very good. The ice cream did have some freezer burn but overall really good. It was beautiful inside the restaurant with views out to the golf course. The decor was very ranch style but up scale and I would love to To Go go back and try their breakfast or dinner specials. read more

This is our first time coming here. I got the ranch burger - 1/2 pound burger chargrilled to order on a toasted brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle slices. Choice of fries or sweet potato fries. Add cheese + $1 (American/Cheddar/Swiss/Pepper Jack) with Fries The burger was very juicy, I ordered the burger medium rare, and was happy with the cook. (So many times a burger is over cooked) The fries were good, a little over salty to me but I do low salt. The view inside was nice and out the huge windows was the golf course that is beautiful. Staff was amazing, waiter constantly checked to make sure we didn't need anything and things were ok. Automatically filled our drinks anytime he saw them getting low. For burgers, fries and a drink each for 2 people cost without a tip was $28.43. Not bad price at all for good food. Will be back sometime to try the dinner menus. read more

We come quite often because the food is usually outstanding, and the staff is usually very welcoming. This visit, not so much. The host had the personality of a dead tree. He acted as if he was put out because we asked to sit in a booth. It got worse. Our server was excellent (my only highlight), and my wife's potstickers were very good. My order on the other hand was atrocious. It must've been around 3 years ago on one of our first visits here, I had the beef stroganoff. It was off the hook. The meat was tender, the sauce was creamy, had some body, and was delicious. I ordered it tonight and it was the worse rendition of beef stroganoff. The meat, which was cut up ribeye was just well done, not braised to any kind of tenderness. The sauce was so watery, it's like they just poured noodle water into the bowl. It was absolutely terrible. I will NEVER order that again. Some might say, maybe the cook was having a bad night. That's not my problem. I spent good money for a good meal and good hospitality. We have never not had a great experience at the Ranch House. We especially love to go on "Fish Fridays". My husband and I have tried many dishes on the lunch and dinner menu and were pleasantly surprised with them all! The only knock we have is that every time we want to order a wine bottle, they almost never have the ones we want in stock (even though they are still on the menu). My wife and I had to give Rocking "R" Ranch House Restaurant a try for lunch today. It is located in the Forest Ridge golf course clubhouse. The restaurant is open to the public with American style food. We arrived at about 1:30 and was a little apprehensive when we found ourselves the only customers. Our waitress was very courteous and attentive during our stay. My wife had the crispy chicken salad, I had the chef salad and we shared an order of onion rings. We both received a very large salad with fresh crisp mixed greens, cherry tomatoes and boiled egg. The chicken was cooked to perfection, crisp coating over a tender and juicy chicken strips. The onion rings were very tasty as well. We were both pleased with our meals and service. We will be back to take advantage of the dinner menu. The fly was promptly dispatched with prejudice! I have not had a really good Club sandwich in years. I was craving one. A club sandwich is one of those safety meals, you order when travelling and stop to eat at an unfamiliar diner. They are pretty hard to screw up. They can be very good or average, but seldom really bad. I was just in the mood for one. The most reliable place to find a Club Sandwich is always at a golf course "club" house restaurant or snack bar. The great waitress delivered a photogenic, diner menu picture, master piece, of a Club Sandwich; on the plate with delicious crispy fries. Excellent! Hankering assuaged! The Crispy Chicken Salad..... My wife was reporting favorably on the fried chicken before she had hardly finished the first bite. The salad was fresh mixed greens with egg, tomato, bacon, cheese, onion and of course, three just out of the fryer, chicken strips. She chose to dress the salad with what appeared to be house made ranch dressing. Great salad. The dining area is large and comfortable with a view of the course. Was searching Yelp tonight looking for something different for dinner, when I ran across a sponsored ad for the Rocking R Ranch House. After looking further into the business, I realized the restaurant is located at Forest Ridge Golf Club and was formerly known as Savannah's......I think. A quick look at the menu and we decided we'd give them a try. We arrived around 7:30 PM on Friday night and noticed there is no parking near the door. As we were parking, a golf cart pulled up behind us and offered to give us a ride to the door. We declined and chose to walk the short distance, but thought that was a nice service for some diners....elderly or those with a handicap. The interior of the restaurant had been remodeled since the last time I was in the old Ridge Grill, and had a "country" feel to match the new name. The menu was relatively simple with breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, salads, meatloaf, chicken fried steak, etc. She chose the Mushroom and Swiss burger, while I ordered the Cobb salad with grilled chicken. My salad had a nice bed of fresh, mixed greens and topped with onion, tomato, crispy bacon, avocado slices, diced egg and plenty of perfectly cooked chicken. The salad was large enough that you could save half for later if you chose to. Her burger was so large she had to cut it in half to handle it. It looked amazing with loads of sauteed mushrooms, melted cheese and was cooked to a nice medium and was dripping juices with every bite. Our server, Ray, was really attentive and also had the manager stop by to check on us. With great service, quality food and reasonable prices we will be coming back. Oh and a bonus, if you live in Forest Ridge they offer a 10% discount on the entrees......unfortunately we don't live in that area, but is a nice incentive for those that do. read more

The place is awesome on the inside and the golf course is a great location to eat in peace without the jazz of your every day restaurant. I had the venison. It was a little undercooked for my liking and the house made rub to me was bland. It didn't have that pop like I was hoping for. Sides I had brussel sprouts and the mashed. She was polite and helpful. Since it was our first time I asked what's the local favorite. She smiled and said the nachos is a favorite as an app, and the pasta was good. She sold me on the Nachos Grande because she shared that she just had them with a bigger smile AND she said they were "really good." Drumroll.....and....they...were....DELICIOUS!!! Who knew that putting cheese with beans, add some peppered jalapeños on tortilla chips and seasoning would invite me back to a country restaurant!?!? I will be back for it! Sorry no pic...started eating it when it came out. We order the ranch burger, fish tacos, and blackened chicken pasta. After eating the nachos, I thought the burger would have been as good, but it failed. It came with typical burger trimmings, lettuce, tomatoes, purple onions, and pickels. The burger itself was also juicy, but it was tough. If the ground beef of a burger is compacted or tightly squeezed together before cooking, the burger when cooked is tensed. I prefer my burgers more loose than compacted. The burger didn't have season other than the flavor that came from the meat itself. The pasta had happy flavors. The sauce was cooked perfectly. Creamy with the right alfredo notes. The blackened chicken seasonings accompanied the alfredo sauce perfectly. Food was hot and fresh. Finally the fish tacos were...okay but for a homestyle ranch restaurant like this to serve em you'll have to try and decide for yourself. This restaurant/golf course also doubles as a weeding venue. A family was setting up outside in the distance when we came to eat. Who doesn't like beautiful golf views whe eating? Finally, when we return, on a Sunday, they have fried chicken special they serve until sold out. I'm excited about revisiting and will update again after eating their chicken. read more

My husband and I went there for the first time and ate lunch. We loved the atmosphere and the view from the restaurant was beautiful. The music was very nice also and it was a very pleasant setting. My husband had the fried chicken salad and would give it a five 5. Not only was it eye appealing, but he really enjoyed it as well. He said the salad itself was cold, crispy, and fresh and the fried chicken on it was very good as well. I, on the other hand, had the nachos and was somewhat disappointed. I was not disappointed with the size of it at all, it was a very hearty size, and it looked fairly appealing when I received it. However, upon dining on it, I was not that crazy about it. First, I asked for the queso to be on the side and I am SO glad it was. On a scale of one to five with one being the worst and five being the best, I would give the queso a one 1. it looked good, but when I went to taste it, it was far from that for me. I did ask what the blend of cheeses were in it, and I was told that it was Land of Lakes Queso. I definitely was disappointed as I would hope an establishment like that would make their own queso. . I tried a few bites of it, but I just really didn't like it. I did enjoy the chips with the guacamole and the sour cream and I would give the salsa about a three 3. I also was not very crazy about the chicken on it. I was thinking it would be grilled chicken of larger slices, but it seemed to be diced blackened chicken. We were outing with our doggo today and we needed to find a pet friendly restaurant in the BA area. We called and make sure they can accommodate us and surely, they do. We arrived shortly after the lunch rush and the whole place was empty. We were seated in the outdoor patio overlooking the golf course. They don't have heat lamp but luckily, today was sunny and quite warm. The services was great, our server checked in on us a few times and refill our water without us asking. The burger we ordered was well done and the patty wasn't greasy at all. The side sweet potatoes fries were coated with too much salt though. We also ordered the waffle breakfast. The poached eggs were made pretty cool. Soft and liquidity inside just the way I like it. The sausage patties were crusty on the outside and quite tasty as well but were a bit salty for me. Waffles were just okay for me. My wife said they have the artificial vanilla smells to it. They did heat up the maple syrup and it made the waffles taste a lot better.
