Service was AMAZING! Fast nice polite and above and beyond! Ambiance was fine. Diner type of vibe. I love an aujus sandwich, beef was kind of dry, no condiment on the sandwich, the jus had no flavor. I still love the brook though

This location has street parking and parking in the back. The entrance is on the side of the building, no entrances on Peoria. The building itself is cool with the old marque. We were seated right away in a booth and there is a bit of a diner feel. The service was decent, our waitress checked in periodically for refills. The food is a bit greasy so get extra napkins. The portion size is good, you definitely won't leave hungry. I got the Ruben and enjoyed it. I would have liked the fries to be a little bit more crispy. The prices are decent.

The food is always good at The Brook. The loaded cheese fries are so yummy and always a hit (1/2 order). We order every time we go. The steak fingers were something we had not tried before and they were . Mac & Cheese is another you have to always get - very creamy & you can't stop eating it once you start. Service is always good too & their tea is another .

food - i worked at the brook before, and have tried many items from the menu. however, i dont remember ever getting the caesar salad, which i ordered today and quite enjoyed. also, i got a sierra mist, though sprite is my favorite spicy water, but it came in a jumbo size pepsi fountain drink, which is one standout feature of dining at the brook. service - i sat at the bar top and was waited on by colleen, who i think did a good job. she and i know each other from when i worked at the restaurant, though i dont think this influenced her great service, as i also noticed her being engaging with other guests, while also being friendly and attentive with me. the food was also delivered to me expeditiously, to reference t.i. ambiance - the atmosphere was good as usual, lots of tvs going, showing sports games. not too crowded this saturday afternoon.

Wow! The portions were huge and I took most of this salad home. The cheese fries were delicious and trust me you only need the half order. They had lots of big screen tvs which was cool. Our server was very friendly!

Let me just start by saying, I had no idea this place existed until a local recommended it for lunch. With that being said, I was very underwhelmed! I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. The stuffing mixture (chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato) ratio versus the ranch/buffalo sauce was wayyyyyyy off. The garlic tortilla it came wrapped in was soggy, and the chicken used was something like what you'd order at Sonic. Fries? BOMB AS HECK!!! Definitely willing to try it again, but may order a blackened chicken salad with a side of fries.

Service was slow but the waitress was friendly. We were sat in the patio where it was cold and drafty. The floor is concrete but this location doesn't really have anywhere else to sit a group of 6 or more. Food was delicious and portions are always generous.

Unfortunately, I felt overlooked at the bar, especially since I wasn't drinking. The staff was extremely busy making drinks and I had to get their attention whenever I needed anything. Would recommend making reservations to get a table seat to receive proper service. I ordered the burger with fries. Cooked well but the flavor was nothing special. The lamb came unexpected in almost a meatloaf shaped slide and it was tender flavorful. Quite good! The Brussels sprouts were nicely done and tasty. As for burger, I was indifferent on. I had a friend who said it was his favorite, but I thought it was fine. They need to change the buns. The fries were awesome. Looking forward to coming back again!

Service was spot on throughout the entire night. We started with the deviled eggs, half plain and half Chef's Choice. The Chef's Choice were the best, drizzled with chili crisp (or pickled Szechuan peppercorns) and topped with a tiny gherkin and fresh dill. The soup of the day was a cabbage and radish soup. It was interesting and very homey but I wish I had ordered the salad. I had the Novarro Farm sweet Potato Gnocchi (kale and pecan pesto, Birch Bottom Farm Georgia candy roaster, fresh chevre). I was a little hesitant about the kale pesto but should NOT have been. This dish was delicious--great garlic flavor. Would order again. The burger looked amazing and while The Hubs said it was good, he also said it needed some more spice. They had a couple of rotating beers from Heirloom--a Mexican Lager and an Italian Pilsner. I had the Water Lily cocktail, their take on an Aviation. Order it just because it's beautiful (and refreshing). The photo does not depict the deep color of it. I asked what other gin based cocktails they had on their menu. They didn't but the server/bartender offered to make me a Bee's Knees for the second round. It was delicious! The atmosphere here is casual but the food is elevated. I kept thinking this is what a French bistro would be like inside. I want to come back and shop the market. Oh, and the apple pie was excellent as well!

Upon arriving at my table, I was offered still and sparkling water to drink and my server was very attentive to my needs and kept both of my water glasses full. I ordered the chicken piccata. The chicken picatta came with a generous helping of three pieces of chicken served with a buttery pan sauce and capers alongside whipped potatoes. The chicken was excellently cooked and was tender and moist with ever-so-slightly crisped edges. The sauce was tangy and the capers added a bite that worked perfectly with it on a way that really made the chicken piccata shine as a dish. The whipped potatoes did not have a lot of flavor on their own, but meshed well with the pan sauce. At the conclusion of the meal, the check came with an Andes mint. I love those, and while it is a small gesture, it made me smile and improved my evening just that little bit more. This was a great experience with great food! 4.5/5

It was semi warm and it just wasn't what I was expecting. But my father-in-laws wife had it and loved it. So I chose this restaurant because they had fried chicken in the menu. Well, I'm never gonna turn down fried chicken so I ordered it. I included pictures for reference. At first glance I thought they had over cooked it because of its dark color. But as I started eating I realized that they had used a ton of paprika in the batter to give it that dark red amber color. The chicken was good and not overcooked. However, they used a batter for the crust. Much like a Japanese tempura but less garlic. The crust was a hard crunchy shell. The flavor was ok but I just don't care for battered chicken. I also felt like it was cooked too hot. The crust was borderline over cooked but the inside was done. That's just my opinion. They served the chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy on the side. Both just warm and as my meal progressed the gravy was straight up cold. But I was finished so I powered through. To be fair, the fried chicken was the least expensive entree on the menu. But I'm kind of a fried chicken snob so I'm gonna give it a 6 out of 10. I prob would not order it again, but there were some other things on the menu I am excited to try on our next visit.

The staff was always quirky, the food was good, and the place ran smoothly even when there was a long line waiting for tables. This visit, our party had 6 people and we got there around 9:30 on a Sunday morning, before the breakfast/brunch/lunch rush and there weren't many tables occupied so the service was fast and attentive. Our coffee was always topped off, and the water carafe always full of ice water. Once our orders were placed the food came out faster than expected. I had the Chickito (flour tortilla around eggs, cheddar cheese, green onions, and chicken, with small containers of salsa, sour cream, and guacamole), and it was good, but not great. Next time I'd ask for more salsa. It also comes with home fries, which are my favorite variety of breakfast potato - crispy outsides and soft insides. Other folks ordered omelette, biscuits, other items off the menu, and all said their meals were very good. The chalkboard with specials says clearly at the top that they add 20% to every check, but I can't recall if it said it was a service fee or gratuity. Either way, they automatically add the tip which, in my opinion, lowers the bar for staff to do a good job. This means, go early to get better service to make the automatic +20% worth it. Overall, I'm going with 3 stars because of that extra 20%. If they didn't do that I'd give it 4 stars.
