Fish sandwich and sweet potato fries.

Everything on the menu is delicious and flavorful. The best sweet potato fries I've ever eaten anywhere. The turkey wrap was delicious and fresh. The southwest wrap- best thing I've eaten in a long time. The toasted ravioli- you must order! The fish sandwich- don't say no. One of my favorite restaurants of anywhere I've traveled. I could easily eat there every day.

1st time visiting 1860 Public House in Red Bud was kinda lack luster but I always said I would give new places another try!!! We were in Red Bud at the IGA Meat Sale (which you should go next time they have it) and decided to stop in again On Sundays they serve a Brunch Menu!!! OMG so good!!! Highly recommend!!!! I had the Chicken and Waffles (I don't get waffles often but I do splurge when I go out). The Waffle was hot and soft and the chicken tenders were so good!! Drizzling some Syrup and butter on it.... So good My brother had the Breakfast Burger!!! Burger with bacon and egg. Then the hubby and sister in law had the BBLT which was good. The Sweet Potatoes Fries were probably the best I ate. Crispy and not soggy!!!! Next time we are getting the Biscuit and Gravy platter!!! They also offer Mimosas and Bloddy Mary's!!! 1860 Public House

New restaurant opening in Red Bud. I went for lunch and ate at the bar. Server was friendly. Nice menu. Wrap was delicious. I think this is more of a dinner place. Check it out.

App: Loaded burnt end chips - I'm a sucker for a house made chip and these were great, I think they may have had the BBQ rub on them? Their seasoning on the chips was special Bf had smoked pork steak - EXCELLENT, was juicy and well seasoned Sides: potato salad and onion rings - great I had BBQ sampler (brisket, pulled pork, bratwurst and 1/4 rack ribs) - juicy, fall apart brisket, pulled pork was not dry like 90% of places, ribs were some of the best I've had and so was the bratwurst Sides: mac and cheese and hush puppies - the mac and cheese is not baked mac and cheese (I definitely prefer baked) but this was FANTASTIC. Hush puppies were great. I also had a Bloody Mary with their pickle vodka - it was perfect, not too spicy and they had a fresh (possibly homemade) pickle

The food came out quickly and was hot or chilled (slaw) correctly. The French fries were crispy (given to me to try BBQ sauce). The chicken sandwich was full of well smoked and seasoned chicken. The coleslaw was vinegar based and I just added some black pepper. The mustard sauce was excellent. The tea was good. The newer decor set the place off from the smokehouse menu. It seemed more of a bar than a smokehouse. I was an immediate fan.

Was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fresh offerings! I got the 6" BLTA and it was more than enough food and was so good. We also got the cheddar poblano soup which was the soup of the day and I'm absolutely obsessed with it! The young girl who rang us up was absolutely amazing and wonderful and the lady who made our sandwiches was a pleasure! My ONLY suggestion is maybe offer to toast subs? My daughter's meatball sub was definitely good, but maybe would have been even better with the bread toasted! Otherwise, can't wait to go back next time I visit my sister!

All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our subs that had plenty of meat and fresh toppings. I haven't had a sub this good in a very long time, and in Orlando we have the best of the best (or so I thought.) They apologized that they were out of pasta salad that day, so we each had chips with our sandwiches/wraps. The chips were a brand with which I am unfamiliar and was pleasantly surprised at the jalapeño cheddar flavor. Delicious. We all ate so fast no one got a pic!! I highly recommend this spot for quality food and a much needed break from the typical fast food joints.

The brisket was tender, but not covered in grease. The mac-n-cheese was actually flavorful - most mnc's are just bland noodles with cheese - not the case at all at Wally's. "What on earth is honey mustard potato salad?" Oh, only the best potato salad you'll ever eat in your life, if you like honey mustard. The baked beans had a chili flavor to them without compromising the bbq sweet you want from baked beans. The poppy seed slaw wasn't just covered in mayo, it was actually refreshing and a nice complimentary side to the uber flavorful bbq mains. And the homemade ice cream was insane alongside the bread pudding. It's a bummer someplace like this is in the middle of nowhere and not closer to more people. But that seems to be part of what Wally wants: home cooking done the right way. Not just "grandmas style" that only appeals to a niche group of people. Wally has crafted his food to be enjoyed by all who happen upon this tiny "diner" along Route 3. Make it a trip and wander past Red Bud and Ruma and get you some Wally's. The menu isn't stacked full of options, but what is on the menu will instantly transport you back to a place where your pallet didn't understand what "food for convenience" was. Where ambiance didn't matter as much as the quality of food on your plate. Show up, order quickly, eat well, and tip better.

This time we called ahead to get orders in to make sure the rush didn't beat us to dinner and boy was it worth it. Sam working the front of house provided great service, friendly with checking and had some good tips on what to order after asking some questions. We order some cheese bread to enjoy as I considered what I wanted. Dipping sauces too, everything is made in-house and the ranch and vodka sauces were awesome. The pizzas are 10 inch, individual sized which meant we could make separate, different choices. I went with the Queen with vodka sauce adding pepperoni and sausage, it was yummy. A typical kind of pizza for sure, but that's a really good gauge on dough, sauce, etc cause I have has lots of pizzas with similar listed ingredients. And this had really good flavor! A few spots where air bubbles created very thin areas were cooked more than looks great but the bit of oaky flavor was fantastic. My friend Sean got something really unique, something he had thought about before when he was there but he regularly orders other things. We were both intrigued by the idea of a loaded potato pizza and I am so glad that he went for it and shared! I seriously will be craving it. So unique with the garlic herd cream sauce, and it was a good call to add sausage. They have a full bar, make frozen custard, and more. The interior is small, with some cool murals on the walls. I hadn't been to downtown Waterloo but it's nice. There were some fun murals but in an old downtown area with lots of shops nearby and murals to check out too.
