Just ordered a Latte which was yummy. Service fast and friendly. Looked over the menu and had a nice selection of breakfast, brunch choices. A lot of room to sit and enjoy your coffee, meal. Outside seating as well.

We love Proving Ground! Columbia is lucky to have this place. This morning we enjoyed a breakfast with friends. Always relaxed vibes, kind service, and everyone enjoyed their food and coffee! Tried the salmon eggs Benedict with capers, avocado, and a southwestern hollandaise. Excellent! And our favorites were great as always - breakfast croissant, avocado toast, mornin fixin's, and breakfast burrito!

I've been several times before. Finally tried something different. The eggs with the mixed potato's are great. The monkey pancakes are a bit on the sweet side but absolutely wonderful. Ordered these to share which was the right idea! Coffee is great. They've expanded their seating inside with a small patio outside for the nicer days. Staff are always friendly. Stop on by and enjoy!

When my daughter wants to spend the night with the parents (she's 24 and in her own). I treat her to Breakfast Proving Ground Café and Roaster!!!!! This place is so good. Counter service is top notch and it is fast!!!! My Morning Fixin with Scrambled Eggs, Potato Hash, Bacon and toast!!! These are probably the best hash potatoes. The sweet potatoes are what makes it!!!! Then the Schubert Special was basically the same without meat....But they got eggs over medium. I always need a pancake when I am eating breakfast out as I do not eat them often (they wreak havoc with my sugars). But we all shared it in the middle of the table!!! It hit the spot!! Great patio for gorgeous weather The Vanilla Latte (not mine) was good!!!

Went to Sunday brunch with a close friend I haven't seen in months. We arrived just before 10 am, and luckily we didn't have to wait to find a table. She got an iced chai & I got a hot chai. Both were really good. I got the Cajun turkey club with a cup of chicken tortilla soup. She got Schubert's Special. We both thoroughly enjoyed the vibe of the place and our meals.

This is the perfect place for a nice coffee or a quick bite. The restaurant is the cutest little thing! They have greenery everywhere, cute decor and seating inside and outside. They have a great selection of food and drinks. The food here is on the healthier side and it's amazing! I ordered the "Mornin' Fixins", the meal was perfect, the potatoes that was served with it was the perfect addition. My boyfriend ordered the "Tacos", he also loved his meal. We'll definitely be coming back. I also tried their "mocha-mellow" drink. This drink was amazing! The marshmallow whip on top was delicious! The staff here are very friendly and work quickly. The food came out pretty fast and our drinks were made immediately.

This is a favorite spot for when my dad is visiting town - we really enjoy the lattes and breakfast - it has always been consistent. Service is great for a local coffee shop - and even when the cafe is full it doesn't take long for a table to open up. I recommend trying their lattes or fresh squeezed orange juice. They are both great ways to start your morning!

At first we weren't sure my wife could get in.. From the front it's a long walk for her with her walker.i drove around the side and found a ramp she could negotiate with no problem. Once inside we were greeted and found a seat and menu. Placed our order which came out pretty quick.. I got the French toast with blue berries and strawberries, it was very delicious. I did miss the hint of vanilla, like I put in mine at home. She had the eggs Benedict. The sauce was wonderful, the eggs were cooked perfectly, the potatoes were great. She took home what she didn't eat they were that good. Very helpful staff. They have outdoor seating and indoor seating. Comfortable atmosphere. We'll return again.

Both feel like elevated, unexpected gems in a small town. I ordered the fried chicken dinner with the half chicken portion, and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken was juicy and flavorful with perfectly crispy, crunchy skin. The service was excellent, and our waitstaff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout the evening. The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The restrooms were also spotless and well maintained. It is clear that a lot of care goes into every aspect of the guest experience. My only minor criticism is the size of the drink glasses. Once ice is added, there is not much room left for the actual beverage. My parents found themselves needing refills more frequently than they typically would at other restaurants. It was not a major issue, but slightly larger glasses might make things more convenient for both guests and staff. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back. The prices are very reasonable. When we asked about specialty coffee drinks, our server showed us an electronic tablet-- we had to pass it around to read our options. They were all very sweet concoctions named for desserts, and the ones my companions chose were indeed so pumped with syrup and flavors and sprinkles that the taste of coffee was nowhere to be found. Our food was just fine. The waffle was sweet and fluffy. The Berry Salad was exactly as described: iceberg, lettuce, berries, pecans. The berries were fresh; the chicken was heavily seasoned (mostly salty and saturated) and the poppyseed dressing was very sweet. The quiche had plenty of spinach in it but was rather rubbery (I know quiche can be tricky-- it has a really long cooking time so it can't be made to order, and rewarming does it no favors) and the potato soup was okay. Both the salad and the quiche/soup combo had a croissant on the side; they seemed similar to the ones purchased by the dozen at Costco. Mine seemed dry on the outside with a faint moldy taste in the bottom. The patio was very pleasant, and inside looked cozy. The staff did a great job of making everyone feel welcome and keeping our glasses refilled and such. There's a big parking lot adjacent, though many of the spots say they're reserved for a different business. I saw that high chairs are available. Gendered restrooms are inside. The place accepts cash and credit cards.

Disappointed overall but would give one more try for other menu items…read more I'll describe my food as ordered. *The lobster roll IS NOT A LOBSTER ROLL. They should clarify that it's the PAWZ version of lobster roll and add a description. It's looks like Ham salad on a bun. Completely pulverized meat specks mixed with who knows what. I very seriously doubt it has much lobster in it. I ordered to go and didn't feel like running back. Had I been dining in, I would have immediately sent it back. Presentation was a 0/10, flavor 2/10. The homemade slaw is bland, in large pieces and onion heavy. Also a 0/10. To add insult, this was an almost $20 sandwich. *The Fish Tacos, again, I am doubting what was served. The fish was more gray than flaky white, but they were far better than the lobster roll. Presentation was a 8/10. Flavor was a 6/10, because the fish wasn't super fresh, and certainly didn't appear to be flaky white mahi. The street corn was a 1/10 and served refrigerator cold and that in itself didn't fit the dish. *The chicken sandwich was good. The best of the 3. Presentation was a 5/10 because the put a sauced and sloppy lettuce & tomato on it. The heat of transport softened it all and it was a mess when you open the container. Toppings should be on the side. The flavor was a 10/10. The fries were just fries. All in all with a tip it was $56 and not great. The service was 10/10. The man taking orders & serving was very polite. The restaurant was clean, and their outdoor patio looked like it would be enjoyable. I think I'll stick to their land food and give one more try for a burger and maybe the beef street tacos. Solely because of the kind service & proximity to my house.

The staff are very attentive to how your food tastes and make plenty of funny jokes with you. They also are very descriptive on what the specials on pancakes and omelettes are. As well as being very honest. I ordered the Benny's Got Beef Or Belly with Brisket. I know, long name. I watched the weather while my food was being prepared, and occasionally looking at the PBS TV nearby. My wife was drawing with my 11 year old daughter (and writing "secret messages") as their food was being prepped and prepared. When my food finally came out, I immediately took a bite. The brisket was very juicy and tender. And the eggs were delicious on the side. I tried this place several years ago. Was still the same good taste that I remember when I took my wife to this place.
