This place is fun! They have a variety of sweet and dry wines, plus some cocktails. This way everyone can partake. We did not eat. So I cannot comment on that. But the slushie Carmel apple drink was yummy. We sat inside. Patio looks fun. Lots of people on a Saturday afternoon. Service was good. I thin food prices are a bit high. Drink prices are in-line. We decided to try this place for my mom's birthday, but what a mistake that was. With the glowing reviews, I expected a much better experience, but what we got was beyond disappointing. From the moment we walked in, our server seemed like she had a personal grudge against us. Getting water felt like pulling teeth--multiple requests just to stay hydrated! The real kicker? She didn't even know what alcohol the bar carried. When we asked for specifics and got conflicting answers, we literally had to walk to the bar ourselves--only for her to argue with us about what they had. It was absurd. As for the food, it was a joke for the price. I wasn't expecting a fine-dining experience like Gervasi, but I certainly didn't think I'd be paying premium prices for grocery store sliced cheese. The only thing remotely edible was the pretzel, though I'm still scratching my head as to why it was served on a banana hanger. Seriously, who thought that was a good idea? This restaurant was a major letdown, and my mom's birthday dinner deserved way better. Save your money and avoid the headache--there are plenty of places out there with better service, better food, and staff who don't treat their guests like an inconvenience. read more

I am disappointed to update my review for 1875 Winery after our last visit to this establishment. They have a no children policy at the Winery and I fully agree that this is an adult place and most patrons probably enjoy the no children policy. However, We were absolutely appalled at what happened to a couple probably in their early 30's with one of their set of parents on a mid week afternoon around 4:00pm. The foursome was carrying a very young baby in a car seat covered with a blanket not making a peep. The young couple was visiting from out of town and had a reservation for a table. When they approached the hostess stand the young lady very rudely said we don't allow children here so you have to leave the winery immediately. I was within ear shot of the conversation so I could hear everything that was said. The mom very calmly told the hostess the baby was just fed and will be asleep for the next several hours but if it did wake up they would immediately leave. The hostess said again they had to leave immediately and we were shocked that she would not check with a manager to see if an exception could be made since it was so early in the day and the place was practically empty and they said they would leave if the baby woke up and started to cry. Again, I don't like kids running around a restaurant and I agree with this policy but the way it was handled was horrible and I felt bad about how they were spoken to! On an upside they did tell them to go to Maize Valley Winery just up the street! I hope they took her advice because Maize Vally is a very nice Winery! read more

It was a very nice day to visit the winery. Enjoyed all the vendors at the craft show. They were really nice vendors.

The pizza was good...I wish it had a little more "wood fired" brown around the edges, but that's just getting picky! The flavor was good.... Especially with the arugula salad on top. The grounds are so pretty. Wine...not to our taste, but I'm sure sweet wine drinkers enjoy it. They had some liquor, so I was happy to get a gin& tonic. We will be back, because I want to see that bagful fireplace lit at night!!! Now, I don't 5 stars out lightly, so don't think we didn't enjoy this place. Sat on the patio which was well designed and has a post and metal fence with waist high shrubs. Gives the area a well defined space and separation from the parking lot. I hate seating that is basically in the parking lot. Pizza was good but needed to be crispier with more toppings - sauce and toppings didn't go near enough to the edge. Flavor was good. Liked the shrimp and grits and would order them again. Sautéed tomatoes added a lot of flavor and grits had a good amount of cheese. read more

Such a beautiful new place. The outside area is perfect on a nice day, like when we went. They told us they fire up that fire pit in the picture every night. My wife got a wine flight that included a wine slushy which she enjoyed a lot. The meatball trio is a must try. The pizza was awesome, the dough had good chew to it and just enough char from the wood fired oven. They make their dough fresh daily and you can tell by the quality. We will definitely be back and plan on going at night to enjoy the fire pit. read more

This was a great accidental find. We were going to go to 1285 and the whole time I was thinking it was the same place, but I kept saying 1875. This place had just opened recently. What an amazing find. They had food and was greeted when we walked in. The lady behind the bar said I've seen many people walk in here but I've never seen anyone TALL that I could see them walking in and was like wow. We sat down order food and the Italian Panini and appetizer buffalo chicken was extremely good. We tried 4 different wines. Each of the wines were very good. From Dry too Sweet. Hazzard was my favorite on the reds. It had a unique taste to the wine, which is a good thing. Very happy we stopped and will stop here again when we are in the area. Not super impressed. It's a beautiful. But the wines all taste the same and the food was sub par. They were having a cookie class upstairs and the lady teaching it was so loud I could hear her In the bathroom stall. Not really the experience you want to have. We go to a lot of Ohio wineries and the wine is not impressive. None of the flight I had popped or stood out and they were sweet wines all served warm...the garlic bread had zero flavor besides cheese. Better places around. read more

I eat in Los Angeles frequently and Winery1875 charges prices similar to that of a big city, not Randolph Ohio. Also, I was not happy to get home to discover that they passed on the credit card SERVICE FEE percentage without telling me beforehand. It seems tacky to get nickel and dimed at an "upscale" place like this. At least tell someone you are charging an extra fee. read more

We tried out the new winery in the area Beautiful place, they've put a lot into inside and out and have great taste on making it count! Nice setting for just about any type of event, get together, date, etc Wine had a variety, but it is typical of what you find In Ohio wines. The sweet palettes prefer Gatsby. While the others enjoyed High and Tight. No one was a fan of Hazzard The menu had a nice selection without being too big. Lite appetites to hefty and vegetarians all found something to eat The apps were great, pizzas were tasty. The entrees are just ok. There are some policies for this winery that could impact your visit. Adults only. Reservations only. Have to choose inside or out etc The person taking reservations on the phone seemed tired, unfriendly and irritated. Enough that I almost skipped this place. She was no way welcoming or service oriented. However. Our actual server was wonderful, friendly attentive and helpful! To improve and compete with other wineries close by, I hope 1875 will eliminate their list of policies and focus on service, wine and food. The staff was very nice & helpful 10/10 The ambiance was barn rustic, very clean. The patio is truly very beautifully relaxing another 10/10. Unfortunately the wine was all too sweet to drink and the beer list was very very weak 3/10 at best The cocktails were the alcohol bright spot however a little pricey 8/10. One last note we got there about 7:00 PM on a Saturday and they were sold of the first three items we picked, ended up just doing flat bread pizzas which were very good. read more

This place is amazing! See the pictures attached. Huge outdoor fireplace, water wall! Take a walk to the pond after dinner! We had a great time last night! The hostess and our server were both very friendly! I had the mixed berry wine slushy , so good! We had the fried cheese and the cheese board for appetizers and both were fantastic. After ordered the build your own pizza and one the best pizzas I had around here, a most to try!!! The kids ordered the Italian panini and grilled chicken with roasted potatoes and asparagus! We took my family here for a birthday dinner. Very nice facility, seemed 'upscale', however the entrees left a lot to be desired. Salmon was over cooked, sirloin dinner was sub-par at best. Overall nice atmosphere, just a shame the food couldn't match - especially at these prices. read more

First time trying 1875 and I was so pleasantly surprised on how nice it is! You can't tell from the road at all but they have a gorgeous patio and they had fires burning and live music when we went on a Thursday. A friend of mine and I enjoyed a bottle of wine together and had such great meals! I got the chicken parmesan and she had one of their pizzas and both were delicious! I can't wait to go back and bring more people to try this place out! read more

Rating for 3.0 -here's why. I'll start with the positive comment. It was our first time to try the restaurant and went for their Valentine special-package selection- it was GOOD! Appetizer nacho chips and. cheese-dip with corn was good, prime rib was good (also a good size 16 oz?) and cheese cake was good. Server was good - for checking on us regularly for what we need. On a NEGATIVE NOTE- we arrived for early dinner (around 5-ish pm) and WAITED for our table for ALMOST 2 HRS !!!! (ok- maybe 1hr and 50 mins)?? Yes, we were sitted aroumd 7pm??? They would sit parties with 4 to 6 people ahead of a couple / 2 people waiting on a table. There's heaters and tables outside but no chairs at the bar (inside) - just order uour drinks then stand or sit by the entrance door while waiting for your table. BTW - no reservations allowed - first come fist serve (does not apply for couples) . Dont know the best time for dinner -to get seated quickly ... or probably have 4- 6 people ... COUPLES dont have priority sitting ! Hopefully the owner thinks of a better system during winter time ... Maybe Summer time maybe different - more tables and seats outside? Hopefully? read more

Great food and wine. The atmosphere is fantastic. But for the first time ever, I was told that our party of 4 would need to leave soon because another party had our table reserved. And there were at least 3 tables open when we left. They encourage ordering drinks and appetizers but then you run out of time and can't order entrees. So I can't comment on the entrees cozy none of us ordered any. This was after an hour and a half AND after the waitress, a very nice woman named Devyn, told us they were out of pizza at 6:45 pm so we couldn't order pizza. ( but they may have just wanted us out of the dining area so they could seat another party if 4) Overall a great place but very questionable end of the evening. read more

However, this Sat. night, when we brought our son and daughter in law , visiting from Columbus, with their two kids, ( we were excited to show them our area's newest winery)...We were informed NO children under 16 and had to leave...Seriously? You have a menu ( pizza, etc.) conducive to younger folks. Other local wineries we frequent allow children - like Gervasis... Don't get this. Want to see you succeed, but this should be resvisited for sure. read more
