En route to Steamboat Springs and needing a quick break from the monotonous four hour drive, I…read moredecided to make a quick stop in Kremmling and grab a quick brew at Grand Adventure Brewing! SPACE/ATMOSPHERE: You can tell that the space was definitely a bar in it's previous life. Inside it's cozy like a hunters cabin. There's a pool table, wood burning stove, and a few mounts on the walls. I chose to cozy up to the bar, so I could chat a bit with the beertender during my visit. BREWS: I opted to sip on the Katie Says (a chokecherry honey wine) during my visit. This 12% ABV mead is def a sold brew and the nitro makes it super smooth and it had zero cough-medicine-esque notes. The chokecherries are locally sourced from the very own yard too! How fun! They have a small variety of every brew style available and a handful of guest taps too. SERVICE: The beertender working was super helpful and friendly as I browsed the tap list. She offered to answer any questions I had and brought over a food menu to in case I was craving something more substantial with my beverage. EATS: They share a space with The Dean West Restaurant and Brewstillery, so they do offer a variety of eats out of the from scratch kitchen. From burgers and sandwiches, to appetizers - they definitely have you covered. I find myself driving through Kremmling a few times a year and would gladly make a stop to see what new things Grand Adventure Brewing Company is brewing up! Cheers, Kremmling!

I got the GAB Co Grilled Cheese with fries, which delicious! The Kirshbaum beer came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. Everyone in the group of 7 was very happy with their beer and food. I dont make it to Kremmling often, but will be stopping by here as often as I come through!!

How have we not been to The Vintage Moose? We've been to Idaho Springs so many times and not…read morenoticed the cool dive bar nestled into the larger parking lot. Our mistake but now we know! And, bonus you do too. First, The Vintage Moose makes the most of their small space - they even have a back room with a few games, open windows and beyond that, a small patio. Super chill. We laughed reading all the cool signs and stickers from all around. Lots to enjoy as you partake in an adult bevvie. Just one guy running the bar and he was amazing. If you're looking for a place where the locals hang out and everyone knows everyone, this is it. We had a great time, even though we were new. We def will be back. And, if it's summer time when you go, ask for their watermelon sangria. So good.

The Vintage Moose was a fun surprise after spending the day in Idaho Springs. It has that classic local bar feel - relaxed, welcoming, and full of personality. Most of the crowd seemed to be locals, aside from us and a couple of other tables grabbing a later dinner. That's usually a good sign. The drink selection had plenty of options, and the atmosphere made it easy to settle in and stay awhile. We kept it simple with a few neat pours of whiskey and enjoyed soaking in the vibe. We didn't try the food this visit, but after seeing what was coming out of the kitchen, we'll definitely be back to do that next time. If you're looking for a laid-back local spot in Idaho Springs, The Vintage Moose is worth a stop.
