Came here on a gorgeous Saturday and sat outside. Lots of tvs so this would be a great place to watch a game. Shared a Reuben that was really yummy with regular fries and also had a side salad. Everything was very good. The one down side - cheap ketchup. I will always dock a restaurant a point for serving anything other than Heinz. I was able to dip my fries in ranch so that was acceptable but man, don't skimp on the ketchup! read more

What the heck is it with peoples attitudes?!!! Especially at a service business. My family will not be visiting 1908 Draught House again due to our experience with a staff member last night, April 18, 2025. Given several of the comments I have read, this is evidently not an isolated issue. Six of us (with two high school girls) stopped in for a bite to eat about 9:00 pm after softball games at the local sports complex. Overall the food was pretty good and our waitress "Abby G" was awesome. I gave her a 25% tip to show my appreciation. As we had finished our meals for the most part Abby G came to our table and apologized for not letting us know earlier but evidently minors have to out of the restaurant by 10:00 pm. OK, I told her, we were just finising up and I said we would be leaving soon, it may not be exactly by 10:00 but not long after. Abby was very nice and said no problem. At 10:06 pm, the young lady with dark hair that had been working behind the bar, guessing she was the evening manager, came to our table and was EXTREMELY rude, telling us that minors are not allowed in the restaurant after 10:00 pm. She said we didn't have to leave but they needed to go to the car. Her approach, tone, aggressiveness, was completely out of line, especially since this was her first contact with us. Although the food and atmosphere are inviting, I am confused about what time is closing on weekends, we have been there several times on Friday and Saturday nights and staff have turned off tvs and closed out registers before 11 pm making it very uninviting like we are intruding as paying customers. Fun place, well laid out. A sports bar with an indoor/outdoor bar and nice patio. Plenty of TV's to catch all the games and live music!

Food was edible. Service was okay. Nothing special here. Wait staff seemed very distracted and were not overly attentive.

If you like the cubbies then you'll love this place! Covered in Cubs memorabilia thrown in with a little Hawkeye love. The menu has lots of good options and I settled on the flatbread grinder which was phenomenal. It was a flat bread with grazianos sausage covered in cheese, peppers, and jalapeños. D-Lish! If you wanna watch the game and drink at the bar probably good place. But if you're looking to get food I'll pass. It said seat yourself self so we sat six of us and three kids some what right in the middle of the place. I saw 2 kitchen staff 1 bartender 1 Expo/busser and 3 waitresses. All 3 of the waitresses walked right past us making eye contact the first 5 to 10 minutes no employee said anything to us the bartenders saw us sit down thought that she would tell somebody we ordered three drinks at the bar and asked them to send over a waitress because we've been waiting, when she had time ( not her fault) she told the waitress. The waitress said " Oh really " then walked up to the other two waitresses and they started to talk about who would take the table They served as our appetizer with no plates we also had no silverware when we asked for silverware they gave us plastic silverware because they were rolling silverware and didn't wanna take from the pile then when we ask for silverware again our waitress told us that she gave us plastic ones we haven't tell if we wanted regular silverware Appetizers were a little salty for me but would probably go great with beer everything else was pretty bland it all looks very nice but the taste was sub par the pizza tasted like cheese and good bread The pre-bussing was Trash. My best friend and I visited for Happy Hour on June 25th, 2024 at 3:45PM. For starters, we were ignored coming into the restaurant. The server was behind the bar playing on her phone and only taking care of the three men at the bar. When she finally approached us after a significant time of us waiting to be greeted, she welcomed us with a giant sigh and eye roll. She asked us, "can I grab you a drink?". I asked her about the drink special which was on the chalkboard as, "$4 Tito's" and I simply asked, "what does $4 Tito's mean exactly? Does it come with anything?". And her response was a rude attitude and eye roll, stating "it's exactly what it sounds like?". Talking to me like I was an idiot or a child. I have been in the serving industry for 10 years and I would never treat a customer the way I got treated today. My friend and I have never been treated like this at 1908 before which is really disappointing because I was excited to eat there because I've been gone from work for 6 months. Anyways. Had the beef nachos - the beef was lacking flavor and the liquid cheese was scarce. No salsa to enhance the lack of flavor - onions abundant as were yellow peppers. Staff were friendly. We went here yesterday evening for dinner with a friend from out of town for the first time. When we walked in the door there was nobody to greet us and we weren't sure what to do. I found a waitress and asked if we seat ourselves and she said yes and immediately walked away despite me having another question. I walked up to the bar and asked the lady if they had high chairs, as I have a 1 year old daughter, she said no they didn't. I was honestly shocked they had no high chairs as it is a restaurant. As all of the tables inside are high top tables, we sat outside and my husband went and got our stroller for our daughter to sit in. We ordered the cowboy bites appetizer which was really good and then 2 of us ordered the Cali love burger and my husband ordered a flatbread. All of the food came out quick which was nice. We all ordered sweet potato fries for our side. The burgers and flatbread were good but all of our fries were flat, hard, and crunchy. I think this place has potential as we love the other locations around the metro, but for starters they need to get highchairs or we, and likely many others, won't want to eat here. I was turned off by the fact that the staff wasn't exactly friendly to start, although our waitress was great, and nobody ever apologized to us for not having high chairs. Disappointed! I had really high hopes when I entered 1908 Draught House in Norwalk tonight but unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food and one Big thing, the unwelcoming feeling when I walked in the door. There needs to be a hostess for the dinner hours to welcome guess. I went to the bar and placed an order to go and the young lady at the bar was very nice. My order didn't take long to come out. I ordered the bacon wrapped jalapeños and the Cali Love Burger w/Onion Rings. The Jalapeños were good and appeared to be fresh but, my burger was awful. It was literally cold not warm at all, and the "Onion Rings" were not onion rings but Onion Straws and they were cold as well. For a $10 burger I would expect better quality. I also should mention that I got the worst stomachache after only a few bits of the burger (I ended up discarding the rest). So kind of a waste. The BOH needs better training on how to make food fresh to order instead of bulk cooking burgers that are served cold. I would rather wait an extra 10 minutes on a fresh burger than pay $10 bucks for a cold one. read more

Norwalk has a new option......finally. Food selection is normal "bar" fare with burgers, sandwiches and pizza. The cheese curds are amazing and I love the pretzels. I have a gluten allergy and I will endure the discomfort to enjoy those pretzels. Lol. Service is normally very good but every once in awhile it can fail. Overall a B on service. The atmosphere is loud but you can still talk. Plenty of TVs for the games but speak up and ask for your game to be put on.........otherwise you may end up watching Master Chef. Lol. So I have been here enough that I can say I am done with the place. I have seen many health code violations starting with the very first time I was there which was shortly after it opened. Wait staff not attentive, although they did have some cute ladies. Food was good. My wife ordered a burger with mayo. When the bill came there was a $0.50 charge for the mayo. In addition to that there was a 4% add for the use of a credit card. Worst experience ever I went to the drought house one day with my nephew he said they had good food but I had the worst experience of my life I had just eaten pancakes had syrup on my fingers so I went to the bathroom to wash my hands when I got there someone had just took a number two and was walking out of the stall He passed me up to wash their hands they use water no soap & dry their his with paper towels and left the bathroom I thought to myself that was totally disgusting so when I came back out I was looking to see this guy somewhere as a customer so the waitress came up and asked us how was our dinner I asked her what color shirt did the cook have on she said yellow to my shock & to my surprise the guy in the bathroom had on a yellow shirt so disgusted to find out this was the same guy who just blew up the bathroom and didn't wash his hands I brought it to their attention and they seem to keep making excuses of how he possibly washed his hands in the kitchen but if he didn't wash his hands in the bathroom what would make me think he washed them in the kitchen at my surprise even the manager was making excuses for this guy I tried my best to talk to them and find out what was going to happen they kept giving me a run around and I try to look out for not only myself but for the public this guy went directly back into the kitchen and started cooking at this time the restaurant was starting to fill up it was Sunday and it was football day I believe it was the second Sunday for football and if not possibly the first so the drought house gets a big thumb down a for me I didn't like the way they handled it I couldn't believe they continue to let this guy cook and I will find out the exact date but whoever ate at that restaurant that day hopefully you're doing fine & not sick Totally discussed read more

We came in about 1:30 pm on Sunday. The restaurant was only about half full. Most of the tables were dirty when we walked in and it took the staff about one hour to get them all cleaned up. We were served drinks right away but didn't get menus until we'd been seated for about 15 min. It wasn't until the server came over to take our order that she realized we didn't have menus. I ordered a salad with no onions, add cheese. Didn't get the cheese, had to ask for it, salad was loaded with onion. I gave up. Salad was the size of a side salad... ridiculously priced for the size. Got my salad 15 min before the rest of my family got their food and had to ask due silverware after sitting with my salad in front of me for 10 min. Had to ask for the cheese. I gave 1 star because 0 wasn't an option. I've given this place plenty of chances. They are consistently disappointing. My buffalo ranch chicken wrap included some unidentifiable objects. My tots had a gray tint and were cold and soggy. Wait, I'll give the buffalo chicken my one star, only because it comes with pita bread. We've given this place several chances but they just, aren't good. Sounds like its an echo of other complaints, cold soggy food, not very attentive staff and odd business practices (hours are only listed as opening time until close, no closing hours provided) finally found something telling me the closing time is 10pm (what I found was recent and specifically stated during COVID) they cancelled my grub hub order even though it was an hour and a half prior to closing. Other times we've tried, no one answers the phone. We really want to support local businesses but this place, not worth the money or the hassle. read more

We went here in May and the food made me sick, the drinks were watered down and our waitress was more interested in telling us about a singer she liked then getting silverware or condiments at our table. I will not be back, wasn't aware of a 4% fee for plastic use as payment either. Be weary of the up sale designed menu, there are a ton of hidden fees. Onion rings, add two bucks to the price of a basket (even though you only get about 5 of them). They are also pioneering the way in Iowa for adding a surcharge to anyone using a debit/credit. Also got caught in an up sale on my beer. Ended up paying $5 for a 12oz draft. All in all the food was decent the service was speedy and pleasant but the price was ridiculous. I paid $27.75 for a burger basket and 2 draft beers. This is my first time here...really not too bad. Came on a Saturday night and we got a booth right away. I got the macaroni bites for an appetizer and the Rancho burger. Both were pretty good. The fries were below average I'd say. Food came out in plenty of time. Like the atmosphere of the place as well. It's not quiet, but it's not too crazy either.
