We've been going to the hole for a decade, until recently. In the past this was a great place to listen to local live music, The cover was cheap, the bar food was good, the drinks were good, and they had good service. Wanted to find out what time a band was playing, and take my GF and a few othrr friends out for dinner. So I called. Mario answered. He was a serious a-hole. Rude. Completely unprofessional. I made other plans. Bars and restaurants are struggling in the middle of this pandemic... and Mario wants to treat me as if im bothering him? Sorry, Mario. Okay, normally I love little hole in the wall places, but this place was not your normal hole in the wall bar. When we walked in the owner greeted us and was very friendly at first. After he had a few too many drinks however, he started to get a little creepy and invasive. The place was pretty dirty and old and hardly anyone was in there. I probably won't go back because it was a very weird and uncomfortable experience. read more

My rating is based primarily on the server.. word to the wise check your card charges! My complaint is that I authorized only the purchase of my tab, struck through the tip line and gave the server a $10 cash tip on a $41 bar tab (roughly 25%). I personally thought this was generous because the service met or slightly exceeded expectation...... What do I find when I check my card today- she felt she was owed more and charged my card an additional $5.94!!! So apparently she thought she was worth $16 tip or roughly 40%????? I think not!! One word UNACCEPTABLE I will say after I closed that tab with the server, I later opened another one directly with the bartender. The bartender charged my card at the end and I immediately said I wanted to pay cash, she assured me that she cancelled the transaction and I paid her cash. As of today there is no charge to my card so I feel good that this was an honest employee of the bar. After speaking with my card to dispute the overcharged transaction, my takeaway is to write the word "ZERO" or "NO TIP" in the tip field. Apparently those who feel entitled to more will write monetary amounts over strike through lines. read more

So come out and see the coolest local heavy metal bands ever! :) Doors open at 8pm ~ $10 admission. OK , After attending this club venue got to say....MEH! The concert portion of the evening...IE the bands were GREAT!!!! HOWEVER...the doorman is the rudest person on earth one moment and acts like your best friend the next (seriously dude, stop going off your meds)...food was OK, good wings~rest of the menu adequate~prices reasonable.... .wait staff ...some were great , but more than one slacker....the bands PACKED that place last night AND did ALL the promotion yet got paid LESS THAN $50 bucks! WTF?!? The place had at least 200 people in it at $10 a head....you do the math! Management is certainly not above taking advantage of the young Texas talent out there wanting to be heard. read more

After attending a local concert, went by to see how a place we use to hang out doing. Walked in approached buy some gray haired guy from the bar asking if we wanted to smoke weed in the bathroom? Walked passed him to get a beer and realized the 15 people playing bingo in the bar meant more than someone new walking in. We sat down and got no service after a few minutes, proceeded to walk out and same gray hair asked if we wanted to stay and smoke pot, told him to smoke my ass walking out the door. When I walked in Immediately received blank stares, about 8 of them. I was uncomfortable but hey I know what I came there for! (Happy hour). I did a lil research and found this is the go to place in the area -_- the waitress was a MESS! She was not your average upbeat, accommodating bar tender. Either she was tired, hate her job, or didn't want to help....me. In an attempt to get her to acknowledge me I said " hey let me know when you are ready".....she look at me with a notion that say "ready"...I ordered a Moscow mule.....she left and came back and said the ingredients were not available. I said no worries I will think of something.... As she sat there and WATCHED Me think of something. I asked if it was happy hour(yes, I knew this already but I needed drink ideas.)....she said it was power hour.....OK. I asked for a apple crown and a water.....she sat it down and left....no smile eye contact... Nothing! I'm not the one to stay where I'm not welcome so I left. Oh 19th Hole, I have spent many a night stumbling out of this place because of your oh so cheap booze. Be warned though, always choose draft. Seriously bartender lady, why didn't you inform me that I could save a dollar by doing draft. That's just inconsiderate. Lone Star draft will run you about $2.50 so you can drink quite heavily when you listen to live local bands. I have a few friends who have bands that frequent here. In fact one of my friends met his now wife here so the place has some fond memories. I love the fact that they support locals and it should be known that its not always metal that is played here. I've seen a mix ranging from country-esk to something sounding similar to the Pixies. The doorman is quite rude and will re-card you if he doesn't remember you face, which can be really irritating. The cover here can be kind of high for such a crappy little venue, but eh, you gots to make the mons I guess. Point blank, I don't come here unless someone I know is playing. There's really no reason to with the competition around the area. read more

Not even a good dive bar. I got raw wings, paid way too much for cocktails, and was overcharged by 24 bux! I kindly asked about my bill, the bartender didn't budge, so I just said ok and left. Total dive bar, but totally me. Nice waitress, nice locals but the only down side is the SMOKE. While it did annoy me at first, after a few cold ones I didn't even notice people lighting up. Draft beer was $2.00 a pint, cannot beat that. Will probably go back. read more

Went to one bar, waitress too busy. Went to another, I was the only one there and finally got a drink after she was done chatting a bit. Drinks were not so much overpriced for the band, but everyone thought I was drinking water and I would have gotten drunk quicker on water. I even gave a good tip on the first two, the 3rd had even less alcohol so I went back to the other bar that was busy, and got an AVERAGE drink. Spent 20 dollars on 4 drinks that had a total 2 oz of alcohol. It's a cool place, but it's a pain in the ass to get service and seemed like none of the employees cared. If bands were not playing there that I liked I would never go in. Note to bar, hire bands, nobody is going there for the service and warm friendly bartenders. read more

I am a singer songwriter... I drive from inner loop to come out here to play. Let me be very clear... Mike does not like original music on thursday nights, unless you are playing blues with the band. The band is incredible, the two dollar draft beers is cool, but if you are an original singer songwriter, do not confuse this BLUES JAM with an open mic. Dan Workman is cool as hell but I swear the more I play here in houston the more I realize that people do not appreciate original singer songwriters. This band will not back you up on original material unless you are playing blues... there that should be clear enough. Peace, and never stop playing, never stop writing... The wings here are probably the best next to Buffalo, NY. The BEST part is you can still smoke inside !!!! For you non smokers there are tons of other places to go that do not allow smoking. Go there and I will come here. Its pretty simple. The bartenders are always friendly and the prices are good. I was looking forward to spending some time at The 19th Hole to see one of my favorite local bands - Such Marvelous Monsters - tonight. Had a pretty big group of fans meeting there, too. Unfortunately the band was bumped to 12:30, apparently due to some poor planning on behalf of whoever coordinates band activity for the bar. Word is he overbooked...nice. So now most of us can't go. This is the second time this lack of organization has impacted the band's schedule! Safe to say the bar's profits will suffer a significant loss as a result, too. Pretty disappointing overall. Someone needs to get organized. Bottom line - don't make the mistake of planning your Friday night around the live music schedule at The 19th Hole! read more

This place gives a dive bar a bad name! It hasn't been cleaned since it opened in the 80's; absolutely disgusting. It has so much promise of a great dive bar, but...Staff and bartender are overwhelmed when more than a handful of people come in; mostly Thur. nights and on weekends sometimes. Wait time can be 20 min at least. Wings are the biggest seller for Thur night wing night. They're hot or miss, when it's a hit, they're amazing, but probably don't want to look in the kitchen!!! I doubt it passes health inspection. Don't drink the beer on tap, the lines have never been cleaned and it's room temp. Way too smokey; they had air filters for about a month and they went out and never fixed. Bands are sometimes pretty good. Would be a great place if they paid attention!!! read more
