I was able to conveniently order and pay online, but the manager also made sure I could pick up my food with only three minutes left before they closed. He made sure my order was correct and presentation was still perfect even though I had to take my meal back to my hotel. Went here to spend at least 2 hours since my fiancé's dr appointment was closed by then suddenly I got summoned back. They packed everything to-go fast. The food waited on me for an hour, it was still SO good. The interior was subtle fancy and the hospitality was top notch. I cannot wait to go back and try more foods! I came in on a Sunday at 12:40. They were a few tables and some people at the bar. I was seated right away but it took about 5 minutes before my server came over to ask if I wanted anything. I ordered the Miso soup which was delicious but took 15 minutes to come out which is long for a soup appetizer. I ordered the Alfredito roll when I received my soup. It wasn't served until 30 minutes after I arrived. (I was in the service industry for many years so I'm probably more sensitive to timing than most.) I will say the roll was fantastic! The taste was fresh, creamy with a hint of afterburn. The restaurant was clean, however, the music was a bit loud for Sunday lunch. Great place! It's a Mexican-Japanese fusion restaurant with some interesting items on the menu. Inside is nice and the bar area looks cool. Our sever was awesome and so attentive. To start I ordered the New Dream martini, absolutely delicious! As an appetizer we ordered the spicy edamame, not as spicy as I wanted. It good flavor. Came here on a Saturday with a group of 7 people. The spot is great for groups. They had 2 TVs showing college football. The food was phenomenal. Overall, I like the Mexican-Japanese fusion rolls. Very clean dining room with a nice bar. Our waitress Liz was great. The Pork Buns were delicious and I could have honestly just ate them and been happy. We tired 4 different rolls which were well made and tasty. Although I don't think I would order the two I got again only because of my preference (didn't like the spicy tuna). Josefina made our 3 hour round-trip drive out to try this place so worth it! Ask for the "Tuna on Fire" not on the menu... the tots were also so fun. All 3 of our rolls (especially the Ceviche roll!) were so tasty. Josefina brought us her favorite spicy dipping sauce when she noticed we mostly ordered spicy things and MAN it was delicious. Went on a Monday when it was slow, and there was still a decent amount of locals at the bar. So good to see regular customers. You know it's good I had the lunch best combo and it included miso soup, hand roll, sashimi, and nigiri. It was a lot of food! the waiter was so nice, he brought me out extra sauces to try. Why 5 stars? Because we pretty much loved everything. --- --- --- We heavily debated where we were going to for our debaucherous eating after a week of being super healthy. After much deliberation, we ultimately landed on Suxico, and we were extremely satisfied with our decision. There's no time to waste, let's get to what we ate: Side Salad: As good as a side salad gets. Zuzhi Bitez: Just a pinch of a kick to it, but everything I hoped it would be. Truffle Tuna Crudo: Maybe the purest, best thing we had. Ribeye Beef Rolls: The only thing I wouldn't need to order again. The beef had that specific after taste like it was lower quality. It was still a solid appetizer, but it was the only thing I didn't completely love. Toro Nigiri: Absolutely melted in your mouth. The only downside is that it didn't last long because of this! Kobe Beef Nigiri: I wasn't sure if I got a hint of that same taste as I did with the ribeye beef rolls, but the stuff that accompanied it made it really great. Wagyu Burger: We got this for our son, but I had to taste test it for him by eating half. You don't come to a sushi place to get a burger, but I have to say, this was one of my favorite things. Lobster Roll: No notes. An ideal sushi roll. Surf n Turf Roll: Of all the items with beef involved, this was the best. Oreo Tempura Crunch: We were stuffed, but I wished I'd never reached the end of this dish. I'll dream of it while I slumber. I visited here during lunchtime to see how good this newish fusion sushi restaurant is near me. The cocktails are $13-16. They do have several lunch specials which saves you a couple of bucks off their dinner prices. They were playing soft dance music and modern hits during the lunch hour, so it was a little lively even though most customers were sitting at the bar area only. As far as nigiri, this is not a high-end sushi place you might find in River Oaks, as they just have your regular nigiri which also includes uni, salmon belly, Japanese snapper and a few others, for example. I chose the 2 roll special and picked the ceviche roll and ocean roll with a house salad. Ocean Roll - I have to admit...neither of the rolls looked impressive at first glance...and not typical of ones I usually order. This one was a bit spicy when dipped in the jalapeno puree but tasted clean with fresh fish and way better than it looked. Ceviche roll - this was saucy but not the same color of sauce you typically see on sushi rolls. They call it tiger sauce, but with just 1 raw fish in this roll, the flavors didn't come together for me and I call it a fail. There is an upfront lime taste with this one and I know what the purpose of that is, but with the creamy sauce, it doesn't work for me. I felt like I was drinking a margarita instead of eating a sushi roll. Salad - a nice size salad with dressing on the side. I'm not really a salad eater, but theirs has a nice presentation. Overall, service was decent for being the only customer not sitting at the bar area. read more

Second time dining at Suxico and had a great experience once again! Service was fast and our waitress checked on us a couple times to make sure everything was okay. This time we ordered a specialty roll combo and tried their Ceviche Roll and Alfredito Roll, which were freshly made and delicious! The Ceviche Roll was refreshing because of the yuzu kosho and cilantro, and the Alfredito Roll was really satisfying because of the balance between soft and crunchy fillings/toppings. I'm not the biggest fan of rolls that are too heavy on fried or creamy fillings so this was the perfect order for me. Also love that the spice on both rolls added to the flavor without it being too overwhelming. If you'd like something stronger though they do serve a bowl of spicy sauce on the side! At the end of our meal I had to use the restroom, and I feel the need to point out how clean and fancy it was and how glad I am that they offer free sanitary products for those who need it! This was our first visit and it did not disappoint. I'm always a bit skeptical with brand new places and this one being 2 weeks in, I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very impressed. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by Enrique who sat us and gave us some good recommendations. Then our server (I'm sorry i didn't grab her name) was very nice, friendly and pretty attentive. And I loved that the owner Jorge came by our table several times to check on everything and ensure we were doing good and asking for feedback. The menu was interesting, as it was very creative and there was a variety of food to choose from. It's a mix of Japanese and Mexican which I've never tried but it all came out really great. The ambience was also very nice, music may have been a tad loud for my liking but the rest of the experience was good that it wasn't a big deal. We came out to celebrate our anniversary and were very happy to leave with a great experience. This is a place we will be coming back to and highly recommend trying out. read more

The sushi here was great. I was able to try Toro (fatty tuna) and Uni for the first time. Toro is absolutely a game changer. Super buttery and melts in your mouth. The spicy salmon sushi roll was flavorful and delicious. The uni was slightly sweet and soft. They also have an option to add things on to your sushi, so we added a little caviar to ours. The prices are fair and affordable in my opinion. The only complaint I have was the obscene wait time. We were one of maybe 5 parties dining it took the two of us 45 minutes to get our food. Then we ordered two more nigiri and it took another 20 minutes to get those. So they definitely need more people making sushi, which may come with time. All in all, we would return. read more

You must order the Lobster Crab Puffz - kaninkama lobster w/cream cheese green onions, tempura fried, and jalapeno puree and tempura sauce, it is so good and creamy. I also loved the Baked Avocado - rice, slice avocado, spicy kanikama ponzu, green onions, and masago. The rolls are large and full of ingredients such as the Surf & Turf - shrimp katsu, avocado, topped with kobe beef, green onion, truff kobe sauce and the 11:11 - salmon, tuna, escolar and avocado, tempura fried, topped with spicy creamy aioli, eel sauce. As well as the Lickety Roll - softshell crab, spicy tuna, cucumber with tuna, salmon, and avocado on the top, eel sauce, and Japanese mayo. So good. They also have flavored ice teas.
