He went above and beyond the identified problems and efficiently replaced the old gas valves on several appliances as well as updating some gas pipes. He's a total pro and checked his work several times for safety and took all of the measures to make sure the gas was back up and running as well as what I should expect in the process. The bill was very fair. All in all having this problem fixed so quickly by such a plumbing expert may have been the best decision I've made this year yet!

These graphic truck guys are strong on promotion, high on price and weak on plumbing. If you hire Ray, you actually get a plumber to look at your job, not an estimator in a white shirt. Ray has one employee who is, in my estimation, is a fully qualified plumber. Ray usually specs out the job and works on getting it underway, and checks on progress. On a recent job, I had a bid for $3500, another for $2200 (using plastic) and Ray ended up billing me a total of around $2000. He did a lot more work than the two other bids by running copper waste line past the clog points, His sweat joints are perfect. You can eat off them. One thing that may confuse Yelpers is that his business is located in Marin, but Ray works mostly in the Oakland-Berkeley area.

Around 10:30pm I decide to try and run the garbage disposal to clear some of the water, and each time I do I hear what sounds like a little waterfall near by, but I can't find it. Not under the sink, not in the bathroom the next wall over, so my husband crawls under the house to look because he hears it too each time, and we realize the noise is coming from the laundry room. To my horror, the whole floor (including under washer/dryer) is flooded with kale and cous cous pipe puke which had shot out the pipe our washer drains into... It did not smell good... Time to call the professionals. Called a couple places the next morning and they were either busy or not available, then called Josh and he answered right away and said he could be over in an hour! My hero!!! After 3 hours of trouble shooting our wonky pipes (apparent hack job remodels before we bought) and climbing on the roof to snake from a vent up there, he got it! So grateful for his experience and sense of humor. Plus he was super sweet to my kiddos who were home at the time, he's got fans for life here now. Thanks again Josh. So as far as my garbage disposal working again, that went well. First off, I called him the day before he came and everything was fine. We agreed he come at 8:30AM. I text him my name and address. I also asked if he could install a light for me as well. I know he isn't an election, duh. But I was trying to kill two birds with one stone so why not ask? He said he could do it! GREAT! The next day rolls around. I called him at 8:31AM exactly and told him I was running to the ATM, which would only take about 15 minutes. He said OK, he was at Home Depot and would be on his way. I didn't mind because I was running late as well. But that's where it started... Around 9AM he called and asked where my house was on International. Um, I text you my address the day before, so I feel as if you should have directions to the location ahead of time and not be calling me 30 minutes after you where supposed to be here to ask where I live. He called again about 20 minutes later, by this time he had arrived. He came in. He did "fix" my food disposer. He took it apart to find the clog and there was not a clog- that took About 20 minutes with no luck. So be took his vacuum and sucked out the blockage, which took less then 5 minutes. He started packing his tools. I asked if he was still going to install the light, and he looked at it. Took a deep breath, and said there wasn't enough time. UMMM, IF YOU WEREN'T LATE MAYBE YOU COULD OF AT LEAST HAD TIME TO OPEN THE BOX! He said he would come the next day to install it, then charged $75 dollars for the bullsh*t... $75 bucks for 30 minutes of work and all you had to do was vacuum? OK. AWESOME! He came the next day and attempted to work on the light. He opened the box and told me I needed to call an electrician. Waste of time! I told him I was NOT at ALL happy with his service from yesterday, and the crap he pulled today. He got loud with me and yelled "OH OK YOU WANT YOUR MONEY BACK BECAUSE YOU WERE NOT HAPPY! HERE YOU GO!" And handed me $20. And left. I never ever want to deal with someone who's customer service is this rank. He is not courteous of how you feel as a client, your schedule, or your budget. I read a review before (which seems to have gone missing) in which a Yelper insisted you ask for pricing before he finished the job. Something I didn't do. Long story short I was ripped off. I started getting quotes from different plumbers, and many quoted between $700-$950 just to move the gas valve into the drywall. Then I found Kenner from Brother's Plumbing. He quoted me $350, which was already the cheapest. But with the holiday season and our recent move, we were hoping to save more--and Kenner generously lowered it to $250. These people truly have heart. To make the long story short, Kenner encouraged us to simply check the back of the new stove. And behold--the stove actually has a built-in gap that perfectly accommodates our protruding gas valve! My mom had purchased it, so I hadn't seen the details myself. Thankfully, the stove listing had a 360° view online. Because of Kenner's simple question, we realized we didn't need any work done at all.
