I went here as a kid since I was first able to go to the dentist actually and I stopped going here…read morebecause my mother needed to move and it was to far. However that's not the real issue. I shouldn't have been going back to Kotlow after the very first visit. My brothers shouldn't have neither. I am now 21 years old and I am still beyond traumatized to go to the dentist. This man "dr" kotlow held me down with his hand on my chest and told me not to cry as I was in agonizing pain from a procedure of caps being put in and I had no lidocaine. Mind you I was around like 5-6 and I'm on the freaking spectrum. I'm autistic so I was panicking cause of the pain and the noise and this dude was yelling at me holding me down. You should be ashamed of yourself. And I hate seeing you respond on everyone's comments trying to make yourself look like and angel kotlow. You know what you did to me. That's why on Google when I rated this same exact rate you said absolutely nothing to me. Because you know you are a sick cruel man. The only thing I can say for anyone possible reading this. DO NOT TAKE YOURE CHILDREN TO THIS PSYCHO! And if your children are seeing this horrible man... if they say something like this believe it because it's 100% freaking true and it could ruin your kids mouth in the future. And if you're reading the Kotlow I know you remember me and definitely remember this. And just know this won't go away. I plan on taking this to court eventually. You should be disgusted with yourself kotlow.

My daughter had multiple ties and we were able to get them revised right there. Difficulty with having to hand my daughter over to the treatment team with no option to be in the room with her. I'm very grateful for everything the office did to make the procedure happen that day though!

If you have kids and live in the Clifton Park area, this IS the dentist for you! Dr. Amy and her…read morestaff are amazing with kids. She got my 2yr old son to sit through an entire cleaning without a peep! My three year old daughter loves her and the cool toothpaste/toothbrush they use. In other words, my kids think going to the dentist is fun! Does it get any better?

Dr. Amy is the most amazing pediatric dentist in the area. We drive from Altamont (approximately…read more40 minutes) to her office in Clifton Park, passing by at least 3 or 4 other pediatric dentists on the way. My son was 4 years old when he had his first dentist appointment with a pediatric dentist in Latham. He was more excited about the full arcade in the waiting room than anything else...During the cleaning, he was diagnosed with four cavities. I was devastated, as we brushed his teeth daily and he has overall excellent hygiene. Although the dentist explained everything to us, it all felt rushed. There was a huge waiting room full of clients and they needed to keep going. They ushered us to the front desk where we were assigned to a receptionist. We were given an estimate for what they recommended and told us they would contact us to schedule the appointment. I tried to ask some basic questions, but they were too busy and there was noone who was available to answer them - they would have to call me back. They called and informed me that although his teeth needed care, an appointment wasn't available until almost five months from that point. Again, I tried to ask some basic questions but was told I would have to speak to someone in a different department, and I never received a return call. I decided to get a 2nd opinion (and eventually, a third!) The original dentist wanted to perform the fillings using general anesthesia in a hospital OR, which I thought was insane for a four year old with cavities in his baby teeth. After speaking with our pediatrician, who explained that the fillings were necessary because these were actually molars that would be in for another eight years and had potential to rot his adult teeth underneath, I pursued our next opinion. This time I chose another pediatric dentist that was closer to home. This dentist agreed with the diagnosis of cavities. They discussed doing the fillings under a "sedative cocktail" in a room in their office - minimal monitoring equipment and if there was an emergency who knows what would have happened. I had heard horror stories about things going wrong with these procedures, and decided this was not what I wanted for my son. He was nervous with this dentist, too. Finally, under the recommendation of my childhood dentist (Dr. Fountain from Burnt Hills) I was lucky enough to find Dr. Amy! From the minute I met her I felt at ease. She did agree with the diagnosis also, but opted to try nitrous oxide for the fillings first. She was gentle and calming for our son, who tends to be anxious. She totally put him at ease. Although the nitrous didn't end up working and we did pursue fillings under general anesthesia at Ellis Hospital - Dr. Amy was with us every step of the way. She is competent and has excellent bedside manner. The procedure went perfect and she was able to "fix" all of the damaged teeth. We continue to choose Dr. Amy for our routine care for our son and our young daughter. Her entire staff is wonderful and I cannot say enough about them. If you are searching for a Pediatric Dentist - choose Dr. Amy! You will not be disappointed!

Our appointment was at 2:30 PM, yet we weren't taken back until 3:30 PM -- a full hour late. Meanwhile, I watched multiple people who checked in after us walk right in before us. No explanation. No apology. Nothing. Just complete disregard for our time. When we finally got seen, everything felt rushed, cold, and sloppy. They used what felt like a basic, non-professional camera to take photos of my child's teeth, which only made the whole appointment seem even more careless. And to make things worse, it looked to me like they had tools sitting out in the check-in area, which gave a terrible first impression and made the office feel completely disorganized. And the worst part? The orthodontist told me my child needed braces first and then the extra tooth removed. But every other dentist, orthodontist, and oral surgeon we spoke to afterward gave the opposite treatment plan -- that the extra tooth should be removed first, and then braces. Hearing completely opposite opinions made the whole situation feel even more frustrating and made me lose confidence in this office entirely. There was no clear communication, no reassurance for my child, and no sense that anyone cared about how stressful this was for us. In my experience, this establishment is horrible -- disorganized, inconsiderate, and not somewhere I would ever trust with my child again. I left furious, disappointed, and determined never to return. If you're a parent, my honest advice is this: go anywhere else. Save yourself the stress, the confusion, and the wasted time.
