I found this place via my USAA portal and their price was by far the best. I called and David was helpful and truthfully honest. When I asked about certain cars he didn't give me a run around on pricing, he'd tell me honestly if he could go down on price or not. THAT is what I appreciate most, that he didn't waste my time. Not only that, when I showed up he was attentive which you don't get at the big dealerships. I walked out with a car with fewer miles than the one Rick Hennessy was offering me and less money! I purchased a vehicle from this dealership on April 1, 2026, and within only 3-4 days the vehicle began experiencing transmission and shifting issues. After approximately 1,000 miles, the transmission completely failed. I had the vehicle inspected by a mechanic who advised that the transmission damage appeared to be pre-existing prior to the sale. I also have reason to believe diagnostic codes had been cleared before purchase. While the vehicle was sold "as-is," I believe customers should still be treated honestly and fairly regarding major mechanical defects. I attempted to resolve the issue professionally with the dealership before pursuing further action. Buyers should strongly consider having any vehicle thoroughly inspected independently before purchasing from this dealership. This was an extremely stressful and expensive experience, and I would not personally recommend purchasing a vehicle here based on my experience. read more

Spencer was my salesman. Here is my experience with 1st Choice Automotive. Before I purchased the vehicle, I was informed there was an issue with the actuator related to the transmission, and I was assured it would be repaired before I received the car. After purchase, the dealership kept my vehicle for approximately 21-25 days, repeatedly stating they were waiting on parts and completing repairs. During that time, I was not provided with clear updates or proper documentation. When I finally picked the car up, I was told everything had been fixed. However, I was not given a repair invoice or any detailed proof of the work completed, despite asking. Within just 3 days of driving the vehicle, the same issues returned -- jerking, loss of power, and difficulty reversing -- making the car unsafe to drive. I then took the vehicle to a certified dealership, where I was informed the car now needs a full transmission replacement costing around $6,000. When I reached back out to 1st Choice Automotive, they refused to take responsibility and stated they had already fixed the issue, but still could not provide proper documentation of the repair. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to be cautious, ask for full documentation, and get an independent inspection before purchasing a vehicle from this dealership. read more

Better quality of vehicles, I got my vehicle home woke up the next morning transmission fluid all in the driveway, from there, I checked the oil and the oil was 1 1/2" pass the full mark. There will also bolts missing from the ignition coil packs that hold the spark plugs in I'm like wth... if you want a well detailed vehicle in and out, this is the place to go, but the engine and transmissions are garbage, these are auction cars that are purchased and no mechanic at least not a certified mechanic or looking at these vehicles read more

BUYERS BEWARE!!! My daughter purchased her first vehicle, a Toyota RAV4, from this car lot on September 11, 2025, and the transmission failed in less than 12 hours. This dealership took advantage of a 22-year-old first-time buyer and showed terrible professionalism. Salesperson Claire Johnson claimed there was nothing she could do because the car was sold "AS IS" with no warranty. After multiple unanswered calls to her and management, we contacted the finance company, which later investigated them for fraud. Thankfully, Westlake Financial released my daughter from the loan and cut ties with this car lot. They still refuse to return her down payment. Spencer Kellam seemed trustworthy when I bought the 2017 Ford Escape from 1st Choice Automotive Corp in Smyrna, GA on August, 26 2024, but only a few months later (February 10, 2025) when I take the vehicle in for routine maintenance, the technician tells me that the vehicle's subframe is completely rusted through; too rusted to be repaired. The vehicle, I'm told, is not safe to be on the road. I told the technician that I'd only recently purchased the vehicle, and he told me that the previous owner must have lived up north because the underside of the vehicle looked like it had been eaten away by the salts they put on the road in the winter. So that's it. The $12,303 I spent on the vehicle is gone. And I have no recourse and no driveable vehicle. For us, this is a terrible loss. read more

NFCU Buyers Beware they're absolutely horrible and customer service female is nasty unprofessional. After you sign, there's no follow up and they refuse to allow you to speak to a manager, I called female (NASTY) never gave a name just transfer to Phillip voicemail again before letting me say we had left several messages anabout a warranty that we had paid for in full April 2025, with one major engine repair and a second in Nov/Dec. Come to find out they as the dealership did a flat cancellation with GWC Warranty after being paid in full and because the dealership has to call in the issue it's now denied because First Choice Auto cancelled the policy in 11/20, back and forth through 12/14. Again do not under any circumstances do business with this business, they knew this Ford F150 was in need of an engine and only did enough to get it sold, then sell a warranty and now a second same issue ticking noise and it's now a full engine. if you're a veteran/military buyer do not be fooled by the glitz, smooth talking and glam, this is my second warning and they have just gotten worse......Buyers Beware and now after calling several times more they won't answer the phone, irresponsible, rude, and a menace to the community.... read more

Noticed that the back tires were slanted outward not too long after purchasing a car and took it back to ask about the issue. They said they "checked" it and that the alignment was perfect and that there were no issues. A few months later, I notice my tires are wearing unevenly. Took it to a mechanic to find out that the uneven wear is because I need a new cv axel and a new wheel bearing because of damage from an accident that they did not tell me about. I was one of the ones that burned by this dealership and I've only had the car less than 6 months. They more than likely don't do maintenance in house for the cars on their lot and if they do they don't keep adequate records. Third party warranties will not fix engines if there is no record of oil changes. AVOID, and if it hasn't been said enough get the car inspected before purchase especially if you choose to get it from here. read more

Got a call today from the salesperson. "We are not magicians and we are unable to see into the future that your car was going to have issues. Once you drive the car off the lot, it's your responsibility." She said that my review that they scammed me wasn't warranted, the dealership has a 30 day warranty, but my issue "doesn't sound" like it's an issue that would be covered. That was BEFORE I told her that our mechanic ran the reader and it was the thermostat which could have been easily repaired by them so that I didn't have to pay someone else for labor, but "there's nothing we can do as it's your responsibility now." Seeing as they have some 5 star ratings from customers that don't have any issues with their cars, they could have just assisted me with the thermostat to save them a bad rating, but they chose not to. I went there to look at a car blue book valued 7-8,000. They wanted $12,000. Car has been on the lot for a month and I doubt anyone else has looked at it since. When I asked them to move it, it was buried deep in the lot due to lack of interested buyers. Car smelt of cigarettes, broken sun roof(leaky), had panel damage (it was loose), tires were bald. Lady said that it was priced as is and they under no circumstances sell for less than marked price. Car wasn't anything special, it was flawed, cars on the lot are all grossly overpriced. Everything was no pressure. If I found the right vehicle here, I would not hesitate to buy from here. I bought a 2014 Nissan Frontier recently from this dealership. I regret my purchase. I recommend not buying from this dealership from my experience. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE TO BUY A CAR/TRUCK! I came to them because I read positive reviews online and they had multiple types of the truck I was looking for. I was greeted pleasantly by David one of the dealers. I told him what I was looking for and he showed me around the small lot. He noticed my bumper stickers on my car and made some political comments about them. He clearly disagreed with my stickers. Fine, I understand no all agree with me but most just keep quite. So, after the test drive I decide the price is good for the model and year so I inform them I'll buy from them. We finish up the paper work that day and my boyfriend and I come back later that night to pick up the truck I bought. Two days later the check tire light is on. I go and get it checked out no one seems to know what the hell the problem is after visiting two different auto shops. Finally the last auto shop I visit realize the air nozzle is loose and leaking air. I tell them the check tire light is still on after they fix the issue, they say it will go away after driving on the tire for a bit. A few months later that light is still on. Within five days of owning the truck the battery dies. I call AAA to come check it out. The battery was bad so I had to dish out $140 to get a new battery. I called David and told him about the issues I encountered with the truck. He said there was nothing that he could do. I truthfully in the end had a terrible experience with this dealership and dealer. I would highly recommend buying from a different dealership. read more

I asked for the car to be realigned and have the oil changed before I was ready to purchase the car and David had the car serviced, oil change and alignment all done, and then sold it to another person. Within a few hours of calling me to let me know it was ready for me. I found this dealership on CarFax, I was looking around for VW Jettas, and this dealership had a good selection to offer. I drove down to the dealership, about an hour drive for me, I was greeted by David, one of the salesmen. He took me to the White Jetta I had my eye on and the sticker price was higher than the online price, and he said that since I was an online customer I would be getting the online price. I then took the car out for a test drive, I loved it, drove great, only worry was the alignment seemed to off slightly and I checked the oil and it needed an oil change. I talked with David about fixing the alignment and changing the oil, he said he would get that all taken care of and give me a call tomorrow around 2 or so, I told him I was interested and once that was fixed I would come back down and take the next step. I never received a call the next day, so I assumed the car was still in the shop. So the next day, a day after I was expecting the call, I then received a call while driving, so my mom picked up the phone for me and talked with David, he said that the car was ready for me to come down and take a look at and purchase, my mom told David that I would call him back when I was coming down today. Later that day I was about 30 minutes from the dealership, so I gave David a call to let him know I was on my way, he then informed me that Tim had just sold the car 10 minutes ago. David had not mentioned that another person was looking into the car, nor did David call me to let me that someone had purchased the car knowing that I would be coming down to purchase the car that day. read more

Probably the worst shopping experience I've had. Drove 4 1/2 hours to look at a van that "I never been wrecked or damaged". On my arrival pull up the floor matting and notice that the bottom of the van is covered in water. Originally thought maybe they tried to clean it in the inside and got water in there. However, after further inspection I noticed that the back portion of the cab was dented in and the third brake light was broken allowing water to just pour inside the vehicle. After addressing this with them they acted surprised and then scheduled to have it repaired. Although, once the repair was made they then increase the price and trying to foot the bill on to customers. Everything that I've dealt with them so far has been a negative and or shady experience. Purchased the car on Friday March 29, 2019 - IT WOULD NO LONGER START 3 HOURS LATER!!!!!!! After purchasing a $7,000K car it needed repairs that cost $1100K. Troubleshooting it was determined that the fuel pump was bad, good thing the 2015 vehicle we purchased was under the 1st Choice Autos 3000 powertrain warranty, WRONG. I called Debbie Mask at 1st Choice Autos, but they insisted the pump was not covered under their 3 month - 3,000 miles powertrain warranty. If you Google, what's covered under Powertrain it states a fuel pump is covered. So, 1st Choice Autos does NOT honor their warranty, please remember that if you still choose to do business with them. In order to get my 19-year old college student back on the road the car was sent to the Nissan dealership that following Monday for repair (Nissan dealership repaired the car because it was under 60,000 miles Powertrain warranty) Since 1st Choice Autos did not honor their warranty for repairs I requested that they "AT THE VERY LEAST" pay for the $75 tow to the dealer since they did not honor their warranty. Debbie promised my daughter that she would mail a check, the date was April 1st. The "APRIL FOOL JOKE" on us because on April 5th my daughter went to 1st Choice Autos to do a follow on the reimbursement. She spoke with Debbie Mask who stated, "that they would only reimburse us if we proved and promised that we wrote them a good review". She also required us to show them a copy of the "good" review and then they would give us the check (remember this check was "in the mail" already. DO YOU BELIEVE THIS, 1st Choice Auto wanted to "BRIBE" us to write a "good" review. We are not getting reimbursed instead you are seeing this review. I "used" car purchasers that are looking to get quality cars from a reputable dealer that "1st Choice Autos will NOT honor their warranty BUT they ARE willing to bribe if you write a good review. In my search for a new car, I actually stopped at 1st Choice 2 times. They are friendly enough, but overall I found the experience of buying a new car disappointing, I mistakenly believed customer satisfaction was their goal. I ended up purchasing a 2013 vehicle, but not before taking it to a mechanic to be checked out. The tires on the car were almost bald, and needed replacing, the brakes also needed to be replaced, however although I mentioned it when the tires were discussed, the tires were much more pressing as they were in bad shape so I had focused on getting that taken care of (they did help with the cost of the tires, although Smyrna Tire, where they took the car for the new tires, charged me $100 labor to install them) It's now a week after I bought the car, (paid their asking price), and the brakes are now squealing and must be replaced. I went back today to discuss the issue but it was a waste of my time, 1st Choice Auto refused to even help out with the $320 cost to replace the brake pads. Maybe it's just me, but If I pay 13K for a 2013 vehicle from a car dealer supposedly interested in customer satisfaction, I would assume that it has good tires and brakes... Not at all pleased to be coming out of my pocket a week after purchasing the car, and very disappointed that they didn't feel it was important to make it right, or even help me out with the cost. If you DO decide to purchase a car from here, make SURE you check it out completely/take it to a mechanic first... Or else expect that after buying the car you will have to put more money into it so it's driveable/safe. (Also, DON'T let them take your car to Smyrna Tire if it needs new rubber!) read more

Buyers Beware!!! I purchased a 2016 Nissan Maxima from 1st Choice Automotive Corporation for $17,899.00 in Smyrna, GA on June 20, 2020. It had 56,000 miles on it. My salesman was Greg Miles. On my way home to Tennessee, the dashboard showed I needed an oil change. I also noticed that there was no base at the bottom of my trunk. It just had the carpet lying on top of the spare tire. We notified Greg and he took $100.00 off the price of the car so that we could order that part. The next week, I went to get an oil change, and the oil mechanic said, "You know you have two bad tires, right?" I had no idea. They were legally worn. I told a salesperson about this, and he said, "Were the wires sticking out?" He was not going to pay any money toward the legally worn tires. On June 27, 2020, I had two new tires put on and had an alignment, which cost $693.30. While they were putting on my new tires, they noticed I had a bent strut. I had two struts put on because two mechanics said I needed to replace both at the same time. I had that service done on July 30, 2020. That cost $889.14. I contacted Greg before I had that service done, and he said they would pay $150.00 toward that repair because only one strut was bent, and they would have only had to pay $300.00 for it through the mechanic they used, so he said he would give me half of what it would cost 1st Choice Automotive to repair it. 1st Choice Automotive sent us a check for $150.00. Greg said they really don't do inspections on their vehicles, so they did not know about the bent strut. Greg said the only thing they look at is if the car is throwing codes. On July 31, 2020, my car battery died, and I had my car jumped off and immediately drove to have a new battery put in. That cost $178.87. I did buy the battery with the 3 year warranty. My car had been sputtering that week. It continued to sputter the following week, so I took it to Nissan, and they said I needed a new transmission. That is being done and will be ready on August 12, 2020. I did purchase a warranty from the credit union that financed my car, so the warranty company is paying for a re-manufactured transmission. I do have to pay Nissan $135.00 for new transmission fluid. So, I have paid $2024.27 out of pocket to fix my car. This dealer sold a car at full retail value which considers the vehicle is also in full mechanical repair, which it was not. They also did not do a safety inspection at all and admitted to that. By not doing a safety inspection they put my life and my family's life in danger. This vehicle was not worth what I paid and a dealer that cared about their reputation at all would have handled this in a much different way. I drove the same car for 20 years and never had the amount of problems I have already had with this vehicle in just one month. Also, after 20 years of driving the same car I was excited to finally be able to purchase a new to me car. It is very disappointing that the dealer I purchased from did not care about helping me in the right way to purchase a quality vehicle. read more
