Arrogant! Charges 67$ fee to give an estimate for a French drain. When I said most contractors give free estimates, lady arrogantly said: "Well we aren't everybody else". IMO however exceptional you may be at your job, if one doesn't have humility, I don't think I'd want to work with you. Instead of the attitude, you could have explained why you charge, and others don't and I would have considered hiring you. read more

Definitely call Jose! During a small landscape project, we inadvertently broke 3 sprinkler pipes with a shovel. After making several calls with no luck with callbacks or anyone answering phone calls or email requests, AJ's Irrigation and Drainage picked up my call on the first ring and scheduled to come out the very next day. Jose took a look at the 3 broken pipes, gave an estimate, and quickly completed the repairs. Afterward, he took the time to review the entire system and make recommendations to address some areas where the sprinkler heads were not providing enough coverage and how to remedy the issues. It's obvious he is very knowledgeable and very efficient with his time. After 4 days since Jose's on-site visit, we can already see the results with greener grass and the brown spots disappearing. I was so disheartened to realize that our sprinkler system wasn't functioning properly. The control panel seemed to be in order, but the sprinklers weren't turning on. We had an issue with our sprinkler system that seemed to stop working and there was only 1 of 12 stations working. Jose came in and diligently was determined to find out the reason why. Based off of what he found, it was something very simple that did not require a potential leak in the system (as someone else indicated to me). He saved us potentially almost $200 in repairs. I had a what I thought was small problem I was hoping to fix myself, but it became clear I was out of my league. Jose was able to pinpoint the issue fast, and told me all costs up front. During the process of fixing what I called him out for, he found another issue - he didn't pressure me at all into getting this second issue fixed though. However, our system is OLD and so I asked that he replace the second item too. He did it all SO FAST and even showed me how to bleed the system using the new backflow preventer prior to a freeze. I'm a woman, and sometimes I'll encounter craftsmen who treat me disrespectfully - but Jose was incredibly respectful and polite, and treated me like a concerned homeowner without patronizing me! I called on Wednesday evening and a very nice young lady answered my call just before they closed. I had noticed a leak in my front yard near the sidewalk while testing each phase of our sprinklers since it's that time of year. This was clearly a busted pipe and needed repairing yesterday. Jose came out exactly on time the next morning first appointment. They give FREE ESTIMATES too which was nice to know if their pricing was high I would know the problem and be able to shop them. However, after doing my research and basic knowledge of the cost of parts and avg. cost of labor Jose told me worst case scenario which was better than I had anticipated. Then he checked all the other zones and turned out we had a total of 5 leaks which were all wasting water, causing damage over time, and 3 of the 5 were clearly caused by the construction of a new fence that we had replaced the end of Summer last year so we wouldn't have caught them until now anyways. So, it's great that Jose noticed them and took the time to check for any other potential issues because I missed them when I checked. I didn't walk the fence line which is hidden by bushes around our pool. Jose was SUPER HONEST, did EXCELLENT work, and the bill was literally half of what I was expecting. He could have attempted to price things higher and whether or not I would have called him out is not something I have to care about because he didn't.
