I just recently started coming here because my barber I go to moved spot. Mike is a great barber friendly, professional and pays attention to detail. What I love about the spot is that it's located in the Arcadia area 44th and Thomas it is hidden in the Arcadia Link plaza. The plaza offer great things to get done while getting a haircut. I found a cell phone repair shop next door that was able to replace my crack screen while I was getting my haircut appointment. Phone was fixed by the time my hair was done. Win win+++ They have an appointment app. That allows you to book your appointment and see what each barber available openings are. Saves you the hassle of sitting and waiting. So far the app has save me lots of time I Love it! Everyone there are very competitive barber they strive to get better and make everyone cutting there stay on there toes. Found these guys on Yelp a while back, had a few cuts with Omar who is always solid with the clippers and definitely takes his time with the cut. The problem I was running into was that Omar was pretty booked out during season and I didn't have a convenient way to book an appointment with him. Thankfully the Vagaro partnership with Yelp put that book appointment button on their Yelp page. For a bit I was driving to a barber shop in Old Town, getting my cuts from a barber that is solid but was more expensive and doesn't take as much pride in his work as Omar just because I was able to book online via Yelp - what can I say I love Yelp and love booking things online lol. On this last visit I arrived 10 minutes early, Omar was ready to take me then. He worked on my cut, had some good barber shop talk about why I love LeBron James as a human but hate him as a basketball player and my cut was perfect at the end. Now that I'm able to book my appointments right through Yelp I'm definitely only coming to Omar and 1Up for now on, especially since I live down the street. read more

This shop claims to have a $10 charge if you miss an appointment with them, which they will charge you at the time of your next appointment. (Ok Got it no prob) Thats a lie.... This is what they actually did to me. To teach me a lesson or just out of plain spite, Mike Acosta cancelled my next appointment which I had rescheduled for the next day without notifying me at all. I rushed over to the shop from work with money in hand, sat down and waited for my cut. Attempted to confirm with Mike that I was next up in his chair. Mike told me he canceled my cut because I cancelled on him the day before. (Im sorry are we in high school now??? I mean GED education or not, this isn't how you treat people). So I mentioned the $10 fee from the website and he could care less. He made it clear he was upset about me cancelling my appointment (less then 24hours earlier), fee or no fee. I understand I may have cost him money on the day I missed my appointment, but thats what the $10 fee is for right? Guess not...they'd rather get emotional and cancel on a customer, just to prove a point. What they really did is lose another customer. I've had to deal with them and their shitty scheduling app too many times now. They know its broken and they refuse to fix it. I think I've scheduled with their "Booking" feature 6 times now and have only had 1 actual cut. (Because of the obvious problems they have with it which they refuse to admit). Needless to say there are a few good barbers here, Sophia is nice and a couple others do good work and will respect your time. Also there are a lot of other shops in the area that have good cuts. Dapper Dan's in old town is good and he's never wasted my time. Next time ill wait for an opening at his shop. read more

Awesome place. Awesome barber atmosphere, the authentic chairs, barber artwork, TV with sports, music.. most important cool barbers with a passion for their trade and obvious skill. I'm here visiting and needed a cut, their pictures on here and social media show they're skilled. I have the easiest cut in the world, basically a buzz.. Arturo still took like 30 mins making sure every line was tight and and the angles were perfect. I love that attention to detail. Looking around all the other barbers were putting out just as good of work. Prices were right on par with what I pay back home in the Bay Area, and honestly they're cheap for what you get. Mad props to Danny at 1UP. My hair is notoriously non compliant, but my man Danny cut my hair like he'd been cutting it for years on the first visit. From what I saw the other guys in this place are churning out fantastic cuts right and left, as well. They take their time getting it right, and they make sure you like what's sitting on top of your head. Even on a walk-in, I waited less than 45 minutes. I have struggled to find a good barber for a long time and but after my barber switched to this location I decided to try it out. I was highly impressed by their customer care and high quality service. Every barber in this establishment was very friendly and looking to make sure I had the best experience possible. I personally see a barber by the name Mercedes and she is by far one of the most talented barbers I have ever used and recommend her to everyone. First, let me say anyone you get at this spot will hook you up with a solid cut. Everyone is chill and friendly. I've been looking for a solid barbershop for a while and all I was finding were spots that were giving out mediocre cuts and long wait times. I don't mind waiting, but not looking to waste 3-4 hours of my day waiting for a mediocre cut. I highly recommend this spot as it's very clean, has a flatscreen with football on and an online scheduling system for appointments. If you're in there, I recommend Mike. He's not as talkative at times like the other barbers there, but that's because he's a silent artist making sure everything is cut/edged up right. read more
