When we arrived, we found out they didn't have the correct swing door after all. The employee we spoke with admitted he hadn't actually checked before confirming over the phone. When he finally got up to look, he just said there was nothing he could do--no offer to order one in, no attempt to help us find a solution, nothing. The attitude was dismissive, and it was clear they didn't want to make any effort to help. Overall, it was a complete waste of time and gas. First off, I hired this company because of all the rave reviews - Despite the fact their quote was…read more3X the other companies I received quotes. I hired them to till, remove rocks and debris, grade, and sod my backyard. If you have new construction in NFW you likely have a lot of trash and rocks right below your grass... They performed the work while we were out of town. When we returned the morning of the following day I turned on my sprinklers only to discover that 15 out of 18 sprinkler heads were NOT uncovered... Meaning they put sod OVER the sprinkler heads. My wife spent TWO HOURS of our time lifting sod and cutting out holes for the sprinkler heads. Why didn't I do it? I'm a 100% service-disabled Navy SEAL veteran and am unable to do any physical labor. During this time, she discovered rocks still under the sod she lifted (the ONLY reason we had this done); she also found many fresh cigarette butts and fast food trash, and gum strewn all over our yard. Not to mention... 90% of the sod they placed was DEAD!!! I contacted them and explained what we found. "Delight" Landscape blamed the dead sod on us for not watering it and didn't seem to care about any of the other issues with their sub-par work. Just so you know: 1. I told them we would be out of town the day they did the work and would return the following day. 2. We missed one watering time by 4 hours. 3. Even if we were there, only 3 of the 18 sprinkler heads would have worked. I was FINALLY able to convince someone to come and look at how they destroyed our backyard. To be fair, when he came he was very apologetic and promised to have it fixed. During that time I pointed out how a few of our sprinkler heads along the fence were moved... more on this later. A team from Delight Landscape came out to fix their mess. They replaced most of the dead sod and regraded a few areas that were clearly never done the first time. A few days later, my wife noticed A LOT of water flowing down the sidewalk outside our home as soon as the sprinklers came on. I told her how to turn that zone off and on, and she did so to see exactly where the water was coming from. A short video makes clear there is a leak from a broken pipe below a specific head. I called my contact at "DElight" and explained what was happening. He told me that no one could come out to check it over the weekend (So I either let my sod die or literally pour pony down the drain... I was told someone would be there at 830 am on Monday. Around 1030 I got a message that someone would be there by the end of the day and just needed to confirm I would be there... so, I stayed home all day. Around 630 pm, someone came back by... I thought to fix my leak as promised... but no, just to tell me they are still trying to find someone. They called the sprinkler repair guy and explained what was happening. The sprinkler guy told ME that I was WRONG and that what I was seeing was just runoff (aka... You're a 54 y/o idiot) So, my wife had to rerun the system; the guy videoed it for a few seconds, and... well, surprise, surprise, surprise... there's a leak! The guy comes out the next day, and after a few times of running the system and saying there is no problem, by the Grace of God finds the problem (blames it on someone else, of course) and fixes it. It's CLEAR that when they tilled or graded the lawn, they broke two of my sprinkler pipes and did a terrible job fixing them, and didn't cut out the sod. I am pretty forgiving because I believe people are good and generally do the right thing. So this only bothered me once they re-sent the invoice for the exact same amount. I own a business myself and I thought they would write this one off... a LEAST a big discount. Nope. Delight Landscape will do the worst job you've ever seen and not care enough about you to even give you the slightest discount. I would never recommend this company. This is one place to go with a lower bidder.

It was that experience that led me back to them this summer. I had a large shrub blocking my gas meter, which Atmos had notified me about. I trimmed it back myself once but realized it needed to be fully removed so I left a message for Drew. A few months later, I was contacted by a guy named Jim and was told Drew had left and they were just now getting access to his messages. I'd been periodically trimming the shrub back to keep Atmos at bay, but now I also had a tree getting close to touching a neighbors house, violating HOA rules so I asked Jim to come out. He came out and gave me a quote on the work I asked for and I foolishly, based on 2 good previous experiences, paid them in full. I told him that both my HOA and Atmos wanted me to get this done asap, and he said it wouldn't be more than a week or maybe two. This is what has unfolded since that day: 15 business days later- no scheduling call so I reached out to Jim who said he'd talk to scheduling. 19 business days later - I noticed an additional charge for $99 to my checking account. I contacted Jim who didn't know when I'd be scheduled but said I'd accidently been signed up for something called TreeSurance and he'd get a refund issued. 23 business days later - texted Jim asking about scheduling and the refund of the $99. No reply. 24 business days later - texted Jim asking about scheduling and my refund for the $99. Jim replied and said he'd confirm the refund and contact scheduling again. I received the $99 refund 2 or 3 days later. 30 business days later - I got a text from Jim telling me he'd resigned and that I should call the office for scheduling. 31 business days later - I called the office and was told I'd be scheduled within a week. I explained it needed to happen quickly since my tree was now almost touching my neighbor's house. No call. 37 business days later - I called the office and spoke to Cameron and asked to cancel my order and get a refund. I was told I'd get a call from a manager and then they'd approve the refund. No call. I scheduled another tree service who had a crew to my house in 2 days. 48 business days later - I received a call from someone in their scheduling service asking to schedule a crew. I explained that I'd canceled a few weeks earlier and was waiting on a refund. I was told by that guy that he didn't handle refunds only scheduling and that I should call the office. 50 business days later - I called the office again and spoke to Cameron again. I explained again the situation and was told this time that she'd need to talk to Accounting about a refund and that I'd get a call back since that person was at lunch. No call. 53 business days later - I called the office again and asked to talk with Accounting about my refund. Cameron came back and said she'd talked to "Harly" or maybe "Harlin" in accounting who said I'd have to talk to their GM, Brian. I explained that was what I was told a month ago and that I'd never heard from anybody. I told her this had all started over two and half months ago and it needed to be handled soon. That brings us up to today. No call from their GM as of this writing. In anticipation of legal action, I've kept this log but am hoping they do the right thing and issue me my refund.
