They'll beat any price you bring the table but you get what you pay for. Ryan, the owner and install technician, installed a new AC and furnace in my house. About a year later, I contacted them about a persistent "funky smell" coming from my AC after having not used it for a few months during the winter. He waved off the issue, suggesting the smell was merely "due to us cooking," then dirty sock syndrome which can't be explained or treated, and offering temporary "smelly stuff" (basically air freshener in my furnace) that was part of my twice a year maintenance plan that's 3x what others charge. None of this fixed the issue, and was eventually told I need to an expensive air purification system called "Phenomenal Air." I thought I already had that since he upsold me on a Plasma Pure Air purifier during initial installation of my system, but that apparently does nothing. After getting two other opinions from more reputable HVAC businesses who have been in business longer and have way more 5 star reviews, I discovered the actual, fundamental problem: a clear workmanship issue where my unit's drain pan is tilted away from the condensate pump which causes standing water. These other HVAC pros independently agreed this is an issue and likely the cause of the smells. When I brought this clear installation error to Airmerica, they refused to fix it under their workmanship warranty and instead insisted on charging a "labor fee." Ryan says standing water in HVAC is normal and that the tilt away from the condensate pump is not an issue because "there is no gravity in the system." I had to try hard not laugh - he was trying to convince me that he installed a vacuum in my furnace where gravity has no effect. I'm not sure why Ryan is in HVAC when he's a real physicist. When I proposed the logical, cheaper step of fixing the drain pan first to see if that solves the smell--a fix all other professionals recommended they cover--they stonewalled me. They refused to provide an upfront quote for the drain pan repair, instead telling me to get a quote from a competitor so they could "price match". Why would I trust these guys to do any more work? The entire experience was marked by arrogance. Ryan loves to quote his 30+ years in the industry and truly believes no one knows HVAC better than him. When you ask him questions, he explains things without empathy or understanding. Don't bother offending his genius with opinions from more reputable HVAC pros. What a total lack of accountability for their own installation errors and terrible business practice of trying to undercut every bid. Even after having referred people, including my sister-in-law, to them, they chose to fight me on a clear workmanship issue. Stay far away from this company. Oh and by the way, I shimmed the drain pan to fix the tilting so that it's properly driving water toward the condensate pump. Smells are gone.

About a year ago, I had a new heater installed along with new ductwork. Everything seemed fine…read moreuntil recently, when water got into the heater and damaged a controller part. That issue wasn't the company's fault. However, while the technician was here testing the heater, the power suddenly went out. We initially thought it was a breaker issue, but it wasn't. Even after checking and replacing breakers, the power still wouldn't come back on. Then, while we were standing at the heater, the power suddenly returned. Neither of us could figure out what was happening. After the technician finished and left, I had to call an electrician to investigate the wall outlets. The electrician found a loose wire inside a wire nut and replaced it. He told me the wire looked like it had been pulled or stepped on, which caused it to come loose. I haven't been in the attic in over a year, the only people up there were Action Air's technicians when they removed the old ductwork and installed the new ductwork. I reported this to Action Air and sent them photos of the wiring issue along with the invoice for the repair. Their response was: "Good morning Rick, Our management team has reviewed the photo and your invoice and have confirmed we will not be reimbursing you." The electrician's repair cost was $200. Instead of doing the right thing and working with me on a reasonable solution, this is how they chose to treat a customer. Their technicians were the only ones in the attic, and it's clear they inadvertently stepped on or pulled the wiring loose, an issue that could have caused a fire in my home. I guess a bad review is worth $200 to them. This is why I will never recommend or use Action Air again.

Get Air HVAC Solutions stood out right away. They had the fastest availability and a straightforward, fair flat‑rate quote in line with several other companies that had longer waiting times. I spoke with Trevor several times about the quotes and availability, which was easy. He even picked up the phone while on vacation. The technician, Nate, handled all our onsite work. He pressurized the system with nitrogen, returned a couple of days later, and quickly diagnosed a failed evaporator coil. Nate took photos of the bad coil so I wouldn't have to climb up into the hot attic to see it for myself. , Get Air sourced a replacement evaporator coil within a day that was fully compatible with my existing condenser and offered a very reasonable flat‑rate price for removing the old coil, installing the new one, disposing of the old unit, recharging the system, and testing everything within a week. I should also note that I sent the photos to an HVAC professional out of state that I've known for 40 years, and he confirmed that it was the coil. He also said the pricing Get Air quoted to do the job was very much in line with what he charges, and it was a very fair price. Nate was professional, courteous, and extremely careful. He covered our wooden stairs with drop cloths to protect them while carrying equipment. Both he and Trevor communicated clearly and managed expectations throughout the entire process. I'd use them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend their team.
