I owe this restaurant a second review after a bad first experience 2 years ago. I realize now that "Nachos" are a bit subjective and not the dish to tell the true story of a restaurant for sure. Been back twice since. Chips are super fresh and good salsa. Still love that they also have chopped mushroom type salsa. Went about a month ago just for margaritas and seviche, both were very good. Seviche was expensive but shrimp were huge, fresh, plentiful so worth it. Went again last night for margaritas and had the low carb enchiladas plate which was very good. I opted out for the beans, in for the cheese to make it as close to keto as possible. I know, I know, margaritas blow that but it was an attempt to refrain myself partially. Glad we found this spot. Owners are friendly, and the food is quite good. One thing I always look to is the quality of the meat used in the dishes. It was clear they didn't use sub-par ingredients. All were very tasty dishes. Also, the portions were very generous. Plan on having leftovers. Take-out order was well packaged, so no leaks in the car. Waitress had the worst attitude and customer service I've ever experienced. Never had our waters filled, chips were only replaced after waiting 20 mins for a different waiter. Beans and tortilla soup were gross. Our two friends orders were brought out after the whole table had already finished. Two other tables were seated, served, and cashed out before we got our food. We showed up the day after Christmas with 16 people. Here's what happened next. My (now) wife and I were getting married nearby and had planned everything out -- except dinner the night before the rehearsal dinner, when both families would be meeting for the first time. It was the day after Christmas, some people had been traveling from the east coast since that morning, and we ended up calling at 4pm and asked to show up at 5pm with a crew of 10 adults and 6 kids. Stakes were high. The friendly staff greeted us and admittedly we kind of took over the place, commandeering one table for all the kids, and pushing together 3-4 tables for the adults. Long story short, we had a fantastic experience -- the food was authentic and delicious, the margaritas were the size of your head, the staff was awesome, and the cost reasonable. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Worst service I've ever received. The people were rude, ignored me. Didn't give me water, I had to ask. I had to ask for a waiter after I was seated and waited 20 minutes. My waitress was rude and didn't get mine or my friends orders right. Stopped in while we were waiting for our cabin to be ready down the road. We didn't eat, but the margaritas were strong and they brought us chips with salsa, bean dip, and some kind of mushroom pico. LOVE this place! First visit in Feb 2011. Had a group lunch to celebrate a friends birthday. LOVE the atmosphere and decor which directly reflects how I felt about the grub. Fast, friendly server. While I will admit that not everything on the menu is amazing, or surpassing all expectations, I do want to sing the praises of their camarones (shrimp) dishes. I wish I understood the alchemy that goes into their perfectly succulent, never rubbery or mealy, shrimp offerings. Especially the one that comes in a mild cream sauce with mushrooms. Haven't had a good experience there yet. The food is overpriced, and the quality is a definite thumbs down. Even their chips are stale. The worst part of the experience is every time we visit their service is downright rude. I've been served the wrong beer there twice and no napkins with our nachos. The service: Wow the worst service we've had in a while. The girl who seated us was friendly but the waitress was straight up rude. She brought our food and chucked them on the table and then we didn't see her for an hour. We are friendly people so there shouldn't have been a reason for the rude service. Maybe it is because we moved from California, but the food was not good at all. They recommended the fajitas so we got the carnitas fajitas. This restaurant was recommended by a friend so I thought I'd take my family to it while we were staying at a nearby resort.Once the waiter came to our table we ordered drinks, entree's and queso dip, the queso was never delivered to our table.my daughter with celiac asked the waiter if the vegetable taquitos had gluten and he said no and went back to the kitchen. 45 mins later they serve our food and my daughter ate her's and said it tastes like a flour tortilla ( which is gluten that she is allergic too) , we ask one of the waiter if it was flour .This restaurant is NOT celiac friendly would not recommend . read more

A really fun mexican place on the side of the canal. We went with outdoor seating as it was a warm evening and the view is KILLER!! One thing, the menu is huge. You've been warned. We had a party of four, and we were quickly greeted, and watered. The waitress got our drink order, and she was very attentive to our group. Chips/salsa/stuff was a great start as well. The stuff I refer too is served with the chips, and it was chopped mushrooms, garlic, spinach, and a bunch of cilantro. Really tasty. 2 people in our group went with Carne Asada, with a side of shrimp. My wife got bacon wrapped shrimps with hers, and our friend went with coconut shrimp. I decided to try the carnitas and thoroughly enjoyed it. And our other friend tried the seafood enchiladas, and she did not like the dish very much. It was just a mess of sour cream, and they weren't heated up fully so the insides were cold. Overall, i'd recommend to them to work on their beans. Normally this is a very good place to eat. Great outdoor seating arrangements, views etc.. Have been here many times. Husband and I love the food. We have many friends that frequent here also. Then one day we go in for dinner. I get it, its busy etc.. Last outdoor seating, was a table that was pretty much in the way, in the way for people and waiters going back and forth to the outside tables. So we took the table. As we were being seated, I asked the waitress if we could move the table in a little as to not be in the path of others? She asks me " why is there something wrong with it?", I said "it just looks like I might get bumped into while sitting here" oh, okay. Ordered our food and began to enjoy our time here. Then I had to get up and ask for some extra napkins, (we actually each had one). I actually had to walk in to ask. The waitress asks me, 'how many at your table'? I stated two, she says to me "oh because we have a limit of 4 napkins per table!, I thought are you kidding me, didn't say a word to her, but did notice the put-outness of her expression on her face. We will continue to eat here, because the food is really that good. But we will not come when it is overcrowded. Not enough seats and wouldn't want to have to feel humiliated for asking for extra napkins. read more

Online for example 2item combo meal is 13.50, now like 16.50,,, about 2-3.00 jump on most entrees so pretty hefty increase. Most meals 13-20 bucks now versus 10-17.00. Hubby had carne Assad combo with sautéed prawns/mushrooms/onions but sadly poured red pepper flakes all over shrimp dish and killed him to eat just few bites. Never had that issue before. Enjoyed rest of meal but at 18 bucks those specialty plates should come w/sour cream too so actually paid 20 for his meal. My seafood burrito was 16.99, ok 17 bucks,,, but burrito full of crunchy carrots!!! What? I ordered seafood not vegetarian!!! Eerrr I could even find a shrimp as mentioned and the tiny couple bites of something white was unclear if crab or fish. Not impressed. Overall the rest was good. We do love this place especially sitting outside on nice day but couple compliments this visit between overly spicy shrimp, seafood burrito missing seafood and big price increase. i am definitely a fan! the customer service is fantastic and the decor/tables/chairs made us feel like we really were in some little joint in deep Mexico. super cool! and outdoor seating is always a big plus for me during summer. really delicious coconut shrimp... the cevice really could have gone without carrots, they really don't belong there IMO, and it was very heavy on the citirus... other than that, awesome salsa and good service. we will be back next time we go camping in this area which is often. oh and MEAN margaritas! after 2 of these bad boys i was, well, feeling good :-D enjoy! read more

My husband and I got takeout from here on 01/16/2021. He got enchiladas and a Mudslide, and got some rice and a piña colada. The food was super good, and we got chips and salsa included in our purchase. The only complaint I have is that the rice is a little bland, and the salsa is a little runny and not super flavorful, just spicy. Overall, we both enjoyed it immensely and the drinks were delicious. Good Mexican food and restaraunt in an area without many options. We had shrimp fajitas which had decent sized shrimp and was cooked well. The margaritas were also tasty. Service and staff were excellent until the end, had to wait a half hour to get our receipt, but it was a nice day to sit out on their dock.
