    QUESADILLA ABIERTA TRES QUESOS

This was our first time to 2 Pesos and it was amazing. I got the QUESADILLA ABIERTA TRES QUESOS and we shared a Chunky Gaucamole. We were constantly checked on, which we love, and it was very peaceful to enjoy our food. Loved it.

Who doesn't love authentic Mexican food and great margaritas. I've passed this location a few times, and I'm happy I finally gave them a try. The service was speedy and the staff we friendly. The environment and ambiance were much like other Mexican restaurants. However. I will say that the decor of these restaurants are always fun and inviting.

This is the worse Mexican food I've ever had in my entire life. My meat tastes like it was cooked in a burnt skillet. The rice is undercooked and the beans are tasteless. I will never come back here again!!! SUCH A WASTE OF MONEY.............

    Chorizo and Goast Cheese Quesadillas

2 Pesos has been a favorite of ours since we moved to the Shelby county area more than a decade ago. It was originally housed in an old building behind the O'Charleys on 119 in Pelham, but when ocharleys closed, they took over the building and made it their own. My two favorite things to get here are the Quesadilla Abierta Tres Quesos and the Goat Cheese and Chorizo quesadilla. The QATQ is an open quesadilla topped with a grilled portobello mushroom, steak strips, spring greens, vinaigrette, 3 cheeses and green salsa poured over a teepee made of fried tortilla triangles. It's a lot going on, but it's AMAZING! It's filling without being heavy and I can't recommend it enough. Last time I went was with my book club, and everyone enjoyed their meals. Definitely check em out!!

    Spicy mango margarita

This was my first time at 2 pesos for dinner. I usually go for lunch. We shared the guacamole Mexicano at the table. It's my favorite appetizer. The elote was ok. I'm not sure that I would order it again. The 2 pesos enchiladas were amazing! I saved one for lunch the next day, and it was just as good and full of flavor. The spicy mango margarita was ok. I wouldn't order it again. It was syrupy and not very spicy. It was a weird combo of warm syrup and frozen.

Ceviche, Street Corn & House margarita

Not had a single bad meal here! The Ceviche and the street corn are everything! House margarita with jalapeño and tajin on the rim equals the perfect meal!! It's a 50 min drive for me and worth it! (Also tacos are FULL of meat!)

This place is not far from The Hotel we stayed at. We walked outside to go grab a burger but smelled something better, so we walked over to this place and unfortunately they were not open to sit inside the restaurant because of the Covid-19 restrictions on restaurants. So we came in and asked for a menu and ordered our food. The lady was very nice. It didn't take long at all. We ordered the ultimate steak fajitas and it was good.

Great place for lunch. I'm from Texas, so I am very particular on my Mexican food. I had the Enchiladas de las Casas they were very good and the service was excellent. I recommend giving this place a try when in the area.

Horribly overpriced for the quality of food...plus the drink and misc. prices are ridiculous...$20 for a frozen strawberry margaritas!

Love their salsa! Could make a meal on that alone. The chimichanga has lots more veggies than other places, but I like it.

Having opened in 2025, El Comal is one of the newest Tex Mex additions to the area. It delivers as…read moreintended, kind people, reasonable prices and large portions. To start, the salsa and chips. Fresh chips are solid, medium thickness. The salsa is extremely salty and does not taste as if it was made recently. Not a favorite. The steak fajitas is loaded with a substantial amount of beef, which is a wonderfully sized portion for the $14 that it costs in 2026, but the meat is not of good quality taste wise and very tough. The sides are all fairly good, except the guacamole, which is almost tasteless and of weird watered down pale green color, likely batch pre-made and preserved with an additive of lime juice. The ladies working here are wonderful, both attentive and kind. Interior is a nice conversion from the Italian restaurant Gino's which used to be in this space for close to a decade. As a whole, El Comal is probably not a place to run back to, but might be worth trying for some of the other dishes aside from steak fajitas.

What sold me on picking this place for Monday lunch: fiesta plates. Automatically feels like I'm at…read morehome... because I have the same plates at home. This is one of your classic, casual, sit-down Mexican restaurants. They have everything you would expect to see on their menu. Classic refried beans and spanish rice to accompany everything. I applaud them for their extensive lunch menu. Oftentimes you cannot order a fajita off of the lunch menu. Service was quick. I think we were the only people in here. I imagine when kids hockey games get out at the rink across the street, this place fills up. I have the lunch steak fajitas and it hit the spot. No complaints, exactly what I expected. Chips and salsa were satisfactory, too. I enjoyed a nice, big diet coke and was offered a to-go cup as well. That might be my favorite phrase in Spanish: "diet coke, para llevar."
