Every time I come in, she always makes sure to address my concerns with my skin and best of all, I always learn something about skin care. I really wish I could write a good review for this place since it's so close to my house and the prices are unbeatable. Plus, everyone else seems to love it! Unfortunately, I guess you get what you pay for :( I went in for a last-minute bikini wax before my trip. I'm not sure if the below is normal for a wax at this price ($35, when many others charge $60+). Ask any of my friends and they would tell you I am not a high maintenance girl, but I'm sad to say that my visit was a very unpleasant experience. - The room was not decorated and the walls were quite scuffed up, but that's ok as I understand I am not paying premium prices. - The technician didn't ask if it was my first time waxing, and didn't provide me with any instructions before leaving me in the room to get ready (thankfully, I was already familiar with the process). - No modesty towel was provided while I waited on the bed with all my business showing. This was distressing because when the technician opened the door, there was another client getting her lashes done right outside. - Not only did the technician double-dip (re-use the same stick after it touched my pubic area), after she applied the wax she kept resting the stick on my leg, leaving sticky residue on my skin. - I don't need to be treated like a VIP, but overall, I felt like they didn't care if I ever came back again. I can say, though, that despite all this, they got the job done (got rid of the unwanted hair). But I don't think I can ever visit again... in fact, I cringe every time I pass by, which is why I decided to write this review! read more

Being a lifelong Burnaby resident, it's always awesome to see local businesses pop up in my beloved Burnaby Heights. I have to admit though, despite being located next to Stan's Pizza (Go Stan's!) I didn't notice this little gem until the past recent months. Sorry, my bad! I yelped/googled/social media'd this place because: 1) I'm all about reviews 2) I'm all about cleanliness. 2 Polished succeeded in both categories. I was going away for the weekend and needed a quick wax. A last minute decision which luckily ended up at 2 Polished. I called and was greeted over the phone with a friendly voice and luckily was able to land an appointment within 30 minutes time. YES! Parking was a breeze because it's all street parking outfront, and upon entering I was pleasantly surprised but how charming it is inside. It's a bit smaller than your average salon/spa but I can appreciate the coziness of it and how everything looked CLEAN and well taken care for. There are 2 pedi stations on your right with stainless steel basins (used fresh every time, double yes), a mani station on your left and a loungey chair in the back which I assume are for lash appointments. Behind the mani station there is a small room for waxes and the like. I was greeted by the receptionist and was told Angie was just preparing for my appointment and that she'd be out in a second. I really had no idea who Angie was, but turns out she is the heart and soul of 2 Polished. The wax itself was pleasant (as pleasant as a wax can be) and I loved that she took her time. I've gotten so many waxes in my lifetime and you won't believe how lazy people can get. Angie used gloves, disposable wooden waxing applicators, fresh bed paper, etc etc. Just basically anything you might be worried about when it came to hygiene...she took care of it. And the cost was very reasonable. I highly recommend 2 Polished and can't wait for my next service. From looking at their instagram, I'd probably try getting my lashes done next time too. read more

I pass by this place on my way home all the time and since my hands were getting extremely dry (also cuticles were really bad) I decided to give it a go for a manicure. I booked an appointment online - which was very easy and convenient. When I arrived, Jenna was waiting for me. She warmly greeted me, offered to take my coat and offered me some water. The place was really cute and nice. Newer (I think open for a year). Super clean. I asked to use the washroom which was behind these pretty grey curtains. The fact the water heater was in the bathroom was a little off putting - kind of ruined the whole cute spa mood. But, whatever it is a bathroom. We got started right away. Jenna brought all the tools to the table. I should note that they were sealed in a package, so you know they are clean and sanitized. Other places you just see them sitting in some solution. Jenna was sweet and easy to chat to. The hand massage and mask were really nice and my hands do feel better today. I unfortunately, scuffed up the polish on my right hand. I sat there letting it dry for quite some time and yet it still happened. Its not super noticeable, so oh well. It took a lot longer than I thought but again I'm not use to going. I will definitely be back and look forward to trying their other services. read more

I always get my eyelashes done here and they always turn out amazing! But the last time I came in and got them done they weren't as nice as they usually are:( I got classic full set but they were definitely not as full as they normally are. I'm not too happy with them as they're starting to look rather sparse just a week after I've gotten them done. 4.5 stars! After reading some positive reviews about this salon, I decided to give it a try. I've tried a few salons in the area but this one is my favorite so far. Service: Angie, the owner and Susan were warm, caring, and attentive to details. They made sure to check in with me before proceeding with any nail work. You can tell they care about their customers and take pride in their work. I asked about a regular manicure with a gel/shellac top coat, since my regular manis chip within a day and I dislike the scraping/damage that comes with a shellac manicure, but she did not upsell. I appreciated her honesty in telling me that the shellac top coat is the one that is hardest to soak off. Ambiance: The salon is tastefully decorated in modern decor. There is a large screen TV which thankfully played music rather than blast some random TV show! Convenience: 1 hour parking out front on Hastings between 8:30-6pm. I like how there is an online booking system, as it makes it that much more convenient for people on the go. Salon Service:The salon has two comfy arm chairs and stainless steel foot bowls for pedicures. From a health and hygiene standpoint, these bowls are much easier to disinfect thoroughly when compared to the massage type chairs, Also, I noticed that the metal tools were disinfected and re-sealed for use for the next customer. Additionally, the buffer, nail file and foot scrubber were disposable. A lot of salons re-use these without telling you. Big thumbs up to Angie and her team for adhering to high standards for customer health! Finally, I liked how my callous removal was done with a chemical foam, rather than the scary metal cheese grater that other salons use - eek! I just wished there was more time for a foot and leg massage, as it was less than the 10 minutes as described on their website. The pedicure was done very well, no bubbles no peeling. Tried to call multiple times to book, finally booking online.. just for them to send me an email (they didn't call) just for me to go to my appointment to be told they could not do a lash fill and told me I had to pay for removal of my current lashes and had to get a new set. (Nice money grab) I just moved to this beautiful city and was looking for a new lash place. They just lost out on a constant customer just trying to get more money out of me. read more

Wow Angie is amazing at lashes! I have finally found the perfect lash place. I have been getting the 4D Russian volume lashes and I love them! I barely have to wear any makeup now and they stay looking good for the whole time until I get a fill. I usually go every 4 weeks just because I like to keep them looking as full as possible but you can wait up to 6 weeks. Every other lash place I've tried for Russian volume only lasted about a week before starting to look sparse. I also find her lash table really comfortable. Other places I have been to have not been as comfortable and when you are laying there for 2 hours with your eyes taped shut that sucks. I usually fall asleep it's so relaxing. If you are looking for awesome Russian volume or classic lashes I would highly recommend 2polished. read more

I noticed this cute little place one day driving by and gave it a try. I was really pleasantly surprised. I got a pedi and I've been back for many more since! Everything is very clean and sanitary, and the price is right. The girl who did my pedi was very professional and gave the most awesome foot massage! Really cared about what she was doing. Since that first time I've also tried the last extensions. Angie is very good at what she does. She's professional and my lashes have stayed on very well with none growing out and hurting me like other horror stories I've heard. This was my first time trying lash extensions and I'm glad I went to Angie. She even gave me a follow up call which was cool because I did have some questions. These girls care about what they are doing and are young and hip but keep things very professional. Hope they are around a long time. read more

I've gone here for a couple pedicures now, it's hard to book for more than one person at a time so make sure you book far in advance. The first couple pedicures I had was great but the last one which I had a couple weeks ago was a little disappointing...The water she uses was cold and I had to tell her to warm it up twice... really not comfortable having my feet sit in cold water. once I got home i got a better look at the nail polish job she did...i think she though part of my skin was part of my nail. I had the pleasure of Angie microblading my eyebrows for me and honestly, it exceed my expectation. The stokes and the appearance were overall very natural. I had a lot of compliments from my workplace and friends! The pain was definitely bearable and it felt like someone deeply scratching into your skin. I found Angie through a voucher for a manicure and pedicure. Not sure what to expect I arrived hoping for a decent experience. Instead, what I encountered exceeded all my expectations. Upon entering the location I immediately noticed the beautiful and modern decor. Angie greeted me warmly, made me feel comfortable and was very easy to talk to. She took her time with both the pedicure and manicure and didn't rush or skip any steps. She found out my preferences before filing and painting my nails. I upgraded to a shellac French manicure which she did an incredible job on. It looks beautiful and because she's so articulate to small details, I think it was perfectly done. No bubbles, no peeling and I expect the polish will last or exceed the shellac standard of 14 days. I also got my eyebrows waxed and again, I have nothing but praise for Angie. She did a quick upper face massage after the waxing, and wow, it had me wishing for more! I can only imagine how awesome her facials must feel. This is not so much a review of their services as it is on their customer service. When I called in to ask about eyelash extensions, they stayed on the phone with me for a long time explaining the differences between the services and how many lashes are applied. I made an appointment but on the morning of the appointment I woke up with a pretty bad cold and called them to cancel with only 2 hours notice. They were very sweet about it and told me to feel better! I haven't gone in yet but I'm already impressed. read more

I was looking for a place for a pedicure and stopped by 2 Polished. As the tech went to work on my nails, I asked how much a pedicure was as they didn't post pricing for their services. She told me $35 plus taxes and asked me where I got my nails done. I regularly have manicures in the Kerrisdale area in Vancouver for $30 including taxes. The tech was surprised and then went off about how other people are charging too little and weren't as skilled as her. The massage I received from her was average at best and when I went home, one of my toe nails already had a chip on it! I don't mind paying more if the services are exceptional but what I received at 2 Polished was mediocre. With so many other nail salons across from there and on the same block who charge less, they better up the service quality or decrease prices! read more
