I wish I didn't have to re-write my review to bump it down, but I've been disappointed too many times in the past year. I still stand by my review that Simin is amazing - she really is! Unfortunately she only works select days at this location. That being said, every other person I have had has led to a variety of negative experiences; from completely ruining the shape of my eyebrows and then trying to convince me I was wrong about not liking them, cutting up my eyebrows badly through threading, and even giving me unsolicited advice on how to deal with my breakouts, the bad has definitely outweighed the good Especially for the price tag (I think around $18 for eyebrow threading), the level of service is not on par therefore I'm much less inclined to come back. read more

I got my eyebrows threaded at Cleopatra in December and have no complaints. The young girl that runs the shop did them for me and it was great. I bought a five-pack and went back a couple of weeks ago for my second Threading but was sorely (pun intended) disappointed. It hurt more than Threading ever has before and I didn't know why until the next day when I saw that the stylist had cut me!! She left four places with cuts on them that stung for days and left scabs. Small scabs, but still. She also had drawn the shape on them but didn't review it with me before she started. I should've spoken up but I didn't. I think that the majority of the problem was that the stylist was chatting the entire time with someone else that worked there. She was not paying enough attention to me and hurt me. I contacted the manager who wanted me to return and was only willing to give me that one session on the house. I told her that that wasn't good enough for me and that I wanted my package refunded because I didn't feel comfortable going back. I never heard back after that phone call or the email I sent the company after the fact. In short, I would say proceed with caution. Make sure the person is paying attention and that they show you their markings before they start Threading. I did have one great treatment there but with the horrible customer service and terrible experience being cut in multiple places, I won't be going back. They should have handled this better. Cute lil place in the Port Moody area. As there aren't as many brow bars out there. Got my brows threaded, she coloured them in with pencil to make sure the shape was the desired shape I wanted. Threaded away =) ( not too painful). Only downfall was the there was no " soothing calm massage" as listed in the website. It was my first time going to Cleopatra Brow Bar and I was greeted by the owner within seconds then I was offered beverages upon my arrival. I was then introduced to my eyelash technician. She was very through on what the process would be and how long it would take. She was very gentle and made sure my eyes were okay during the process. In the meanwhile, I chatted away with the owner during the whole thing. I am very very happy with the end result as they look fantastic! The decor of the place is very cute and chic and SUPER clean! Both the owner and the technician spend some time telling me how to take care of the lashes to have them last longer in addition to some other tips that was very helpful. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I have tried a few other lash bars and nothing was comparable to Cleopatra Brow bar and I highly recommend anyone who is looking to get eyelash extension! read more

Had my eyelash extensions done here because I couldn't get in with my usual technician before a trip. I paid double what I normally pay for half the lashes and she did a quick, sloppy job. Can't speak for the brow service here but do yourself a favour and stay away from the eyelash services here!! read more

Can't say anything about the brows done here, but the eyelash extensions were a disaster. The woman told me and my friend over the phone she had other people working there that could do both our lashes at the same time. I had something to do afterwards and my friend had to get to work. When we got there, she told us that she could only do one of us at a time. I let my friend go first so she could get to work, and the woman was extremely cold and didn't talk to either of us during the whole experience. Over the phone she insisted it wouldn't take more than an hour and a half for each of us. We both sat in the chair for 2 hours and 15 minutes. I'm a fan of this Brow Bar. Probably the best threading and careful shaping I've had. They use a scissors and a razor to clean everything up. The only thing is the it's a little inconsistent. One time the threading was the gentlest I've experienced, and another it was very rough and pinched a lot of skin. The last time I went there, they added an arch (which they never do), which made me look slightly angrier. But I'm still a fan and will go back! read more

I usually go to Blink Brow Bar in Vancouver but I live in Port Moody so I thought I would try this place because it is much closer to my house. The place was very nice and the woman who helped me was lovely but the threading was very slow which made it more painful. She also plucked most of my eyebrows rather than threading them and when I came out one eyebrow was much thinner than the other. Needless to say, I won't be going back there because I just didn't think that they had the necessary skill to properly shape my eyebrows. I took a before and after picture and you couldn't really tell that anything had happened. I absolutely love this place! It's nice to have a salon specialize in lashes. If you want quality, natural looking extensions, this is the place. First off, the staff is super friendly and for once they actually take the time to explain the procedure and after care to you. You can tell they value your business. First of all the sticker they place on your bottom lashes--not sure what it was but it wasn't "tape". It was able to peel off so easily and not rip out my lashes like other places. What I loved the most about this place was that they had different lash lengths and they actually have a proper consultation with you. I've had numerous lash extensions in the past and they use the same size for all your eyelashes and it just looks cartoonishly long. She started short and went long for a winged out look at the ends. I absolutely love the result as they look super natural. As for the place, Yaletown chic, super clean, comfy beds and complimentary beverages. Grew my eyebrows out for a month to get them done nicely, my usual lady was booked for three weeks straight so I decided to come here. I got my eyebrows destroyed! One is shorter than the other. I asked for the threaded and she did not thread them she used tweezers. I paid four times the amount I would at my other place and got a worst job. Worst experience I have ever had getting eyelash extensions. Careless application, the woman applying my lashes glued my eyes shut multiple times. Didn't even ask me if I wanted to look and check the lashes. Complete hack job. I left the salon not wanting to hurt her feelings and as soon as I saw myself in the car mirror started crying. It sounds extreme but I literally paid $100+ and the lashes were hanging not fully attached to my real lashes and pointing in every direction. When I went back to have them fixed she got a ton of glue in my eye and all the lashes were stuck together. I insisted I was in pain and she ripped the lashes apart. I left again only to see that she had missed a massive chunk nearly 1.5cm wide and had not applied a single lash! I am absolutely appalled, half the lashes have now fallen out 2 days later and I look like a freak show. Thanks Cleopatra. NEVER GO HERE! Was having a bad day and wanted to treat myself and now I'm having a terrible week because I have to look at this hack job every time I look in the mirror. I found this place on yelp and was drawn in by all the great reviews and comments about how great this place was and how great this lady was at eyebrows. I booked an appointment as it was my birthday the next day and was going out and wanted to look my best. I arrived 10-15 minutes early for my appointment, and even though it was just the two of us in the salon she had me wait on the couch until my appointment time while she scrolled through her computer.. wow way to make a customer feel like a waste of your time. Then during my eyebrow threading she cut my eye, sliced it! I had never heard of this happening and I have been getting my eyebrows threaded since I was 12 years old! She did not offer any deal or discount or to not pay, she charged me regular price and told me it would go away within a couple of hours. I had a bloody scab on my eyebrow for my birthday - and the cut took an entire week to heal completely - not impressed. This place is completely overpriced, I've never paid more than 10 dollars for eyebrows threaded and she charged double that. Completely overpriced, and not worth my money or time. I will never be attending this place again. read more
