Today, I arrived a few minutes late for my appointment and was immediately told by Sonika that only half of my service could be completed. While I understand that lateness can affect scheduling, what was disappointing was the way the situation was handled. I was spoken to in a rude and confrontational manner, accused of not valuing her time, and made to feel reprimanded rather than assisted. When I tried to discuss the matter with reception, no effort was made to resolve the issue beyond suggesting that I submit feedback by email. To make matters worse, another staff member came out and told me to lower my voice, despite the fact that I was speaking calmly and respectfully throughout the interaction. If anything, it was Sonika who was being loud and confrontational. I found this both unfair and upsetting. In over four years as a regular client, I have never had a single complaint. That is why today's experience was so shocking and disappointing. I encourage management to review the recordings from today, as the level of customer service I experienced was far below what I have come to expect from this business. Sadly, after today's experience, I will not be returning and regret having recommended this location to others.

Sugaring Change popped up and I was intrigued. I never got the chance to try the place until recently. I decided to just try it as the waxer I like is on mat leave and the location is no longer convenient for me. My alternative waxer has changed her work schedule and I could not meet her timing. So Sugaring Change it is. This is the fastest Brazilian hair removal I ever had. I think I was done in 15-20 minutes. It was gentle, less painful (to me) than hard or soft wax. It was clean and best of all, no tweezing was done (not sure if it is commonly done anyway). I had my session with Danica and she was very patient in explaining the procedures and would let me know the products she would be using as I am sensitive to certain products. The place was nice, clean and quiet. You need to key in a code at the door to enter. I do not think there is a receptionist there at all times as I tried calling when I was there and there was no answer. To make an appointment, you will be better off doing it online or texting or at the desk. Parking at the underground garage is limited (I was told the 2 spots meant for them is usually taken up by staff), and it may be easier to find a spot on the street instead. After Nancy confirmed my appointment she harshly said, "and don't be late otherwise I won't be able to see you until 1:30 ". Her comment stunned me because I had not been late in many months. Over the years I thought Nancy did not like me because no matter how much I said hello, tried to make conversation and gave good tips she was very serious, hardly acknowledged me when I came in she never wished me a nice day or thanked me for a tip. She shows no basic customer service in politeness. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt because I did like how my nails were done, but yesterday I read through other reviews where others were treated rudely by Nancy. Other customers also said Smile Nail employees would call them if they are even 1 minute late for their appointment threatening to give their appointment away. I had the same experience. Then I would walk in the salon and no one would even be there, they weren't even that busy. Frankly, those phone calls made me feel a bit harassed but I let it slide and tried to remain a loyal customer. Other times if I asked for my mani pedi to be done separate, Nancy would get upset and say, " I'already told you before, you have to request that ahead of time, as if its my fault for not keeping track of all her rules. " It's rude and I don't need to be chastised like a child, especially in front of other customers. I pay too much money and give nice tips to be treated so harshly. They are losing workers and recently I have noticed they only have one other guy still working with them. Lin is friendly and gives good pedicures. She recently complained to me that no one wants to work for them. Perhaps if they created a kinder environment others would want to continue working there. I ended up calling back a couple hours later and just cancelling my appointment. I will no longer be going to Smile Nails or recommending them. I hope they stop and read these comments and work harder on their attitude.

Wonder what they did all morning!!!! I could tell the client is pissed on the other side. So my appointment doesn't start till 6.10am and she is done within 6.45pm ( because obviously she has someone pissed and waiting). At this point I am just glad to get a hair cut after the baby was born, as losing hair sent me to panic mode. So I wasn't expecting an amazing hair cut, a mediocre one would do just fine. So it was - very very mediocre for someone labeled as experienced and charging high rate. What I didn't appreciate was how she kept telling me- my hair would be in some " shock" because I cut it short ( from shoulder length to bob) and may not look as perfect before settling down!!! LOL- girl if you haven't done a good job, stop BS ing and keep quite. I wasn't giving you any pain as my expectations were low so no need to talk nonsense. And stop labelling your stylist as " experience" when they don't have a clue. Also doesn't appreciate booking people on for 1.15 hours and doing a haphazard job in 30 mins. I always get the Queen Set and Alannah completely customizes the lashes for you - through a couple of visits and experimentation on my part, we decided on alternating 11 and 12 length eyelashes in a C curl, my ideal lashes. So many salons don't ever give you a choice of what you want, they just slap whatever product they've got on you. She also packs in as many lashes as possible so the effect is truly transforming and somehow still very natural. She's also great to talk to and very personable, making the entire experience very relaxing and comfortable.
